So Erin left at 7am on Saturday morning and she was reported missing on Sunday. What time Sunday and what was being done to find her between Saturday am and Sunday when she was reported missing?

Under updated press release on find Erin facebook, commenter JL posted that she saw Erin's car and it was pointed toward the base. It was on Valle Vista between Condor and Utah Trail.

Why are they searching around Joshua Tree, if her car was found back at the base? Why would someone harm her in JT and then return her car to her base area?

WEBSLEUTHS will be offline tomorrow morning, July 4th, from 6AM to about 8AM PST for a software upgrade. You can get updates about the upgrade during that time on Twitter via #websleuths.

The search feature will not be fully operational for a couple of days after the upgrade, due to the amount of information on our site. It takes awhile to get that data back online.

Was going to suggest checking people that work or volunteer at the sanctuary, but the husband not looking for her on Saturaday is troublesome. Wonder if he did go with her and drove back to the base.

We don't know he wasn't looking. We don't know what time she was due back. We don't know (unless i missed it) what time on Sunday she was reported missing. We don't know what hours he was on duty if he had work.

If she wasn't supposed to be home until 5 or 6pm, an hour of thinking "oh, she'll be home any minute" figure an hour or two of texting and calling her and her friends, panic building. An hour or two of driving around looking for her car. Then, calling your CO or the base police. Then finally local authorities. That could EASILY and UNDERSTANDABLY stretch into early Sunday.

Yes. And I've also read on the facebook page that there's a belief that you can't report an adult missing until 24 hours. That may have factored in to the time frame.

That is right, necco! It doesn't seem fair to assume her husband did nothing until Sunday after he realized Erin was missing. It wouldn't surprise me if the military has a protocol to follow, conducting their own investigation and search, before involving law enforcement. We simply do not know what transpired in the early hours of her disappearance ..before this story hit the news.

And that also may be very convenient. Just sayin'.

Unless he is named as a suspect or POI by LE, he is a victim and we are a victim friendly forum.

Just sayin'

You can drive to a lot of cool places in the park and only have to walk a few yards to see things. There are some amazing views, and frankly, it being Twentynine Palms, there isn't a whole lot of other touristy things nearby for her to take her mom to. You can see the San Andreas fault from Keys View and the wheelchair accessible path is a .2 mile loop, not bad at all, even in the heat if you're used to it, for a fit person, even pregnant.

I know people who have run marathons while moderately pregnant with doctors approval. We don't know why the first pregnancy didn't work out. It could have been something congenital and incompatible with life.

Totally agree. Also, let's not forget that it turns out she was 2 months -- rather than 7 months -- pregnant. That early, she might be tired, crampy and/or nauseous depending on how the first trimester was treating her, but she wouldn't be physically restricted by her pregnancy in any meaningful way; lots of people don't even have their first OB appointment until 10-12 weeks.

Reading through the Find Erin facebook responses, it seems there is enough extended family confusion that might justify her ducking out to sort things out in her ancestry while she's pregnant. Prayers for her.

Can you link the page? Would appreciate it so I can check out the comments, I couldn't find it when I tried to do a quick search.

Just to reiterate, I am not at all surprised by her husband's lack of media presence. In the military, you are seen as a government official first, citizen second when dealing with media. You are supposed to avoid media or saying much of anything without permission. Pair that with law enforcement strategy, it's not suspicious to me at all.
