The pregnancy information isn't conflicting - she had a miscarriage and is pregnant again. Apparently she hadn't announced it to anyone yet (except her husband knew) because it's thought she wanted to tell her mother in person at her upcoming visit.

Has this been verified via MSM?

her car was found near the entrance to the 29 Palms base on Monday. if it had been there on Sunday wouldn't they have found it then? Or was it hidden somewhere?

I don't remember 29 Palms being that big. I would think they'd have found it unless it's a really generic car and they missed it. (Like looking for a Prius in an artist colony, they're everywhere.)

Not that I've seen. Her sister in law, who set up the Locate Erin page makes it clear on the page, that is linked on MSM articles.

The area where the car was found isn't as desolate as it might look on the map, at least for twentynine palms it's not. The particular gate that the car was found by allegedly is actually a side gate so it tends to have limited operating hours. The gates have the capability to record cars coming and going. When you leave any of the gates you aren't stopped in any way you just drive off.

As far as a pregnant woman going to Joshua Tree, it's really not that uncommon. Most of the people who live in the area learn to go early in the morning when it is cool. There are multiple park entrances in Twentynine Palms and in that area there are several campsites and spots to stop. When you enter the park, if a ranger is there, you pay to get in. The thing is sometimes there is no one there so you just drive on. A lot of the locals and people who live long term buy a park pass it's like a little credit card that gets swiped every time you go on but once again that's assuming someone was stationed at the park entrance to take people.

As far as the Marine/husband not speaking that is pretty common for the Marine Corps to restrict what they say. It's not really a measure of innocence or guilt it's just that they have procedures and ways they prefer to address the media.

Last, the area is known to have a unusually high ratio of sex offenders and parolees for the small population that exists. It's not quite as bad as it used to be but it's still plentiful. There was another Marine wife that was presumedly abducted and killed in the 80's I want to say and her killer has never been found to my knowledge. I believe her name was Sandra Rhodes.

(I lived in Twentynine Palms for six years and worked on the base.)

From the family:

The disappearance of Corwin, who has no history of mental illness, drug use or running away, has shocked and bewildered her family, said DeeAnna Heavilin, Corwin’s brother’s wife. “She’s super, super reserved, quiet, introverted." “It’s not really in line with her character to take off.”

Corwin moved to Twentynine Palms last fall when her husband of two years, a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, was moved from a base in Japan.

Corwin’s sister-in-law described the couple as having a charmed life together. They had only been living for a few months — Corwin lived with her parents in her hometown of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, while her husband was overseas — and the two talked about each other often — and effusively. “They’re still in this little bubble,” she said.

Corwin, who spent her free time volunteering for a nearby horse rescue, had never lived farther than a mile from her parents, with whom she has a close relationship.

When she disappeared, Corwin was preparing for a visit from her mother who was coming for her 20th birthday on July 15. They had bought tickets to Sea World, planned a trip to the San Diego Zoo and the young woman had stocked her freezer with extra food for her guest. “They were looking forward to spending some time together,” she said.

Corwin’s mother still made the trip out to California — her father came too — only they are now spending most of their time with their son-in-law hoping and praying for their daughter’s safe return. “We’re just keeping up the hope, keeping the faith and waiting for something to happen,” Heavilin said.

First I read she was turning 19 on July 15th, now this says she is turning 20 yrs old. Which is correct? Erin is a very pretty girl.

Seems like an epidemic these days with young pregnant moms missing over and over again :(

Flashbacks of adorable Laci Peterson are what I see right now.

Some residents of the Morongo Basin say this incident reminds them of the disappearance of Laci Peterson in 2002. “This is eerily looking like what happened in Modesto years ago with Laci Peterson,” said Morongo Valley resident Marvin Sawyer. “We were all talking about this at bridge club last night and it has the earmarks of the same scenario.”

The Marine Corps has forbidden Cpl. Corwin from speaking publicly about his wife’s disappearance, according to family members, but Erin’s sister-in-law said there is no way he is even capable of harming his bride.

“If you knew him you’d know how much he loves her and what kind of an exemplary man he truly is,” said DeeAnna Heavilin of Corpus Christi, Texas, in a phone interview. “God forbid, if harm did come to her it wasn’t from his hands.”

It means zero to me that people who know the husband swear that he could never hurt her. We see it over and over. Even charming successful good looking men who are pillars of their church are plenty capable of killing their wife and covering it up.

If mine ever murdered me he would have to do it in front of a surveillance camera and walk around with blood on his shoes and bleach in his car to get caught. People would still swear he didn't do it. People are suckers for a charming man.

In my opinion, this happens when people who KNOW better lie about it. In the case of Justin Harris, his wife LIED about what he was. It's not that he hid who he was from everyone - she knew who he was and covered completely and fooled everyone.

I do know people who wouldn't harm their families, as all of us do. It does become confusing when national cases happen and those closest to them make it sound like they are something they aren't.

It's really not that hard to distinguish who will harm others vs. those who don't - you just have to understand who to believe. IMHO.

I don't know your whole history, TGI, but you actually make the case for my belief that people don't fool everyone. If you're describing a husband who could have murdered you but you are on to him because he's not what he appears in public - that's what I'm saying.

Murderers don't fool everyone. They fool some people. Wives know. They know what their husbands are. Murderers fool acquaintances.
