see, I kind of disagree with some of the article. I do think the Marines will step in, if, at state level, he is not convicted, just because JC is still a Marine. I don't think it would be looked on very well if they don't protect their own/their spouses.

IMO it's obvious that the Marine Corps has washed its hand of this case and wants nothing to do with it. That was pretty much decided from the moment they realized it was a love triangle. If the state doesn't convict him, I don't believe you will see a military trial of any sort.

This is MB's statement in the TV interview (Taken from my notes):
"I seen a girl get out of the car, you know she had a little ball cap on, looks like some glasses, a little pony tail. I seen her get out of the car. She actually got to the passenger side, maybe did something, maybe locked her door or something, and, ah, what was a red car looks like a little Kia or Honda Accent, it was red, 4 door, umm, it was a short guy driving, didn't have much hair, but it was a short guy driving. Like I said, I seen her willingly get into the car...."

On a link listed on a previous post (will try to locate it - http://www.cbs8.com/story/26058825/) There is a red sedan outside of the apartment complex where the couples lived. No idea if this is related. Let me know if the link works.

If I remember, in another MB stated the exact information. Only thing different he said in 2nd statement is along with Kia and Honda Accent was maybe Ford Focus. All these vehicle look almost alike. I think someone else is in the middle of this case. Take your best guess!!

It takes a while to get through my notes on this as I have over 70 files on this case. Just trying to keep up with you guys! Can't type very quick. Thanks All, Peace

To Mrs G and Seajay - Thanks guys!!!

BBM I believe this may be one of the stock photos probably found on the internet and not a current photo taken recently and may not even be the actual apartments of the C's and L's but of the general vicinity. We pretty much discussed the pictures ad nauseum and it was shown they were all stock and/or old photos. (Not to mention that press has not been allowed access to base regarding this story. Pictures, if not stock, would have to be long range/telephoto taken from off base.)

That is fantastic shadetree44! My results today also came out clean as a whistle. Woo hoo! Thank you to those who showed concern, I GREATLY appreciate it :)

Yay Cabo!!! Great news as well. I'm sure you are so relieved.

I am not sure what, if anything, we can assume about the military's interest. We did not know how active the police had been until this past week. Jmo

I didn't know they were stock, first I heard that. However, I have to admit I fudged a few times and skipped some pages when I got so far behind.

I'm looking for another case to get involved in. Any suggestions? Something fairly recent and interesting?? This one is winding down and will pick back up if anything is released and when it goes to trial. TIA

Without reinstating him for a court martial, he'll be able to keep his honorable discharge. However, if he can't serve out his IRR, his family will be losing their benefits. It irks me this guy can commit a murder while a United States Marine, and get to keep his honorable discharge status because the body of his victim wasn't found until after he separated from the Marines.

  • #589
I keep seeing that Lee is still in the military--is that a rumor or proven? I didn't think lower enlisted typically went IRR. Usually they serve their commitment then they're done, unless he joined the reserves separately.

IMO, The chances of the military prosecuting him are slim. They'd have to recall him to active duty, pay him, and find a job for him while waiting for the trial. NO way would they want him anywhere near any weapons, so he'd just be sitting around a desk, basically as a liability, taking up room and money and truly, the crime has nothing to do with the marines.

http://www.marforres.marines.mil/Ma...veSupportActivity/IndividualReadyReserve.aspx

The majority of Marines in the IRR are former active component Marines who have not completed their Military Service Obligation (MSO), yet have completed their initial contractual period of active duty. Typically, these Marines are in the enlisted grades of Lance Corporal to Corporal and officer grades of First Lieutenant to Captain.

Individuals assigned to the IRR receive no pay and are not obligated to drill, conduct annual training, or participate in any military activities (except for periodic Muster activities) until ordered by Presidential Authority. Individuals who are assigned to an "Inactive Status" are entitled to limited benefits. These benefits include: Entitlement to a Military ID Card, ID Cards for their dependents, PX (Exchange) benefits, Commissary benefits, and MWR (Morale Welfare and Recreation) Benefits. An individual assigned to the IRR may receive pay and full benefits (including medical care and dental care for member and dependents) for voluntarily performing specific types of active duty.

By law, IRR members are only required to retain possession of their service uniforms, their military identification card, and notify their service branch if they move and change their address.

Krista Kelley. A 27-year old Mom, missing for a week. From Indiana.

BBM: Really? This certainly doesn't seem right. Ugh.

So, can someone help me out? We have spent weeks weaving the noose for CL. Now that LE has arrested CL for Erin's murder, and laid out part of their case, how did we get to the theory that NL really killed her and CL is taking the fall as punishment for "being a bad boy?"

How many of us would get in the car with our lover's wife, just the two of you, to go anywhere? I certainly wouldn't. Must less to go out in the middle of nowhere. And, if that's what happened, why did EC text her friend about CL taking her away for the day?

I think it's easy to come up with theories but we have to keep ourselves grounded with the evidence.

I agree with much of what you are saying...

CL is the one LE arrested... And if we trust LE (as I do)... Then we know LE must have some pretty strong evidence CL is the perp...

However... There is still the fact that LE/Media has put it out to the public that LE is continuing to see if there were some acts by NL, as well... Cover-up?... Or..???

I still feel there are some serious questions we need to ask regarding NL's involvement...,even if it was in covering up, etc., and maybe not with the actual murder... (Though I am not ready to eliminate this possibility just yet...)...

All...JMO

I am about 10 pages behind... So please excuse this post if it has been addressed in depth...

The car being red is true. Lee's jeep was Maroon. As to the other concerns about size and car type, for one thing MB only said it was a sedan initially, it wasn't until a month later that it became a smaller car. Sedans come in various sizes. He was prodded with questions for weeks, and asked about the truthfulness of his statement, and if he really saw what he thought he saw. That can change the perception a little bit. The one thing he's completely certain about, without a doubt is that the car was red. He never said what shade of red, like how dark or light, just red. Definitely RED.

Size perception changes by how far away the object is. We don't know how far away from the road the cars were initially. And if the blue car was moved further away, then it's conceivable that when he drove by again a couple times comparing the now smaller-looking blue car to the red car's image in his memory, the size of the red car became difficult to ascertain. The other thing is the curb, is it a bump or a mound;... THAT could hide the bottom of the car making it look smaller. Or did the Jeep's tires sink into the sand, with the same results. Is the terrain completely flat, or is it curved? Etc.
I wonder if Erin ever wore a ponytail or had a baseball cap. I saw a picture of Nicole Lee wearing a baseball cap mounted on a horse recently.

I've never been convinced that NL was a part of the plot from the beginning, however, I honestly do believe she was a part of the cover up. She's not acting like a victim in this. If all this went down with my husband, I wouldn't be anywhere near him. I would be living in a different place then him in AK, and I would be filing for divorce. All the dirty laundry is out and it has to be humiliating. Her being in court for the bond hearing told me plenty. Why would she stand beside him, support him if he had an affair, got another woman pregnant and then killed her??? Unless she's cruising down the river called Denial. IMO
 I am agreeing with all of your post today :goodpost: :cheer:

The question is though, did CL know all this?? Who knows what went through his mind. If he worried before about losing his benefits and honorable discharge status with the military for an affair and a pregnancy because of that affair, how much more is this coming at him for 1st degree murder charges. Dumb as a box of rocks I say! I don't think all the lights lit up on the Christmas tree. Who knows what he knew, who knows how seriously he took it, who knows if it's even an issue. For sure something was or Erin wouldn't be dead. Whatever it was, in his mind, it was worth killing over.

Very good point... he probably didn't research any of this as it relates to likely ramifications. And yet, he took the time to research how to get rid of a body.

He must have truly thought there was no way he'd ever be caught, or it just makes no sense. I mean it's still senseless but he did spend at least some time researching it from what little we know. Obviously the punishment for Murder is going to be a whole lot worse than the punishment for Adultery, if the Adultery could even be proven as 1. happening and 2. having enough impact on the military that they cared to pursue it.

It's mind boggling to me. I guess that's a good thing.
