His lawyer might not have seen all of the evidence yet?
Anyway...there is always time for a plea later, if the state goes with DP.

FWIW - I'm around NL's age and I remember the Laci Peterson case pretty vividly. It was just so sad and heartbreaking that I took notice of it. My parents watched the news every night at 6, and I remember all of the big news stories from my childhood.

So, I don't think it's necessarily something that people my age wouldn't know about. It's also one of those infamous cases- there's pop culture references to it, specials on it, crappy made-for-tv movies made about it. I mean, I'm sure not everyone remembers it, but it would be a stretch to say that the only way she would know about the case is from researching how to kill her husband's pregnant mistress.

If she googled, she should have learned that Laci was found, Scott arrested...much like this case.

Let me clarify. Sorry for any confusion! Here's what I am thinking. For the record, I do not believe Jon was involved.
If Erin left at 7:30 am, and assuming Chris left early as well...one could assume that when MB saw the red car at 10:30am, Erin and Chris would be no where near that area. They would be in Joshua Tree.
I think Erin and Chris met at Ranch rd. that morning and left her car there leaving in his Jeep to make the drive together. Let's say Nicole becomes suspicious that both are Erin and Chris are gone and takes a drive and spots her car. She contacts Jon to which together they drive out to the car. This is who MB sees at 10:30. I can see Nichole saying let's move the car so they know we are on to them.
The next morning Jon calls to report Erin missing. He didn't do it earlier because he assumed Erin was with Chris but now something is feeling not quite right. He explains to the police that him and Nichole spotted the car the previous day. Bam! This is how Chris is initially on police POI list. The Red car they borrowed from the neighbor (maybe) is not an issue. Police know it was Jon and Nichole. They do not need to report this! It's a non issue at this point hence the lack of interest in MB's interviews. big sigh, hope that came out better! Please feel free to pick out the holes in this theory.
BBM

Aside from the holes that others have pointed out already up-thread the tire marks found closest to the car in the location it was found were from a jeep, not from the "red car". If JC drove NL there and they moved the car there wouldn't be footprints leading from the blue car to a jeep, which is clearly what LE stated.

So is this a pro bono case? Is he doing it for the publicity???? Where is CL getting the money to pay him otherwise???

From Mr. Kaloyanides' website:

Going to Trial
A quick resolution is not necessarily the best outcome for all clients. While quickly resolving a case through a plea deal can be in the best interest of the client, the only way to ensure the best results is preparation, investigation and evaluation of all the evidence in the case. That’s why Mr. Kaloyanides takes on every case with the understanding that the best strategy may be to go all the way.

When you are facing criminal prosecution, never let an attorney tell you the quickest solution is the best solution. Your desired outcome is the best solution, and it is Mr. Kaloyanides’ goal to get it for you.

Just a hunch...his attorney really wants this case to go to trial. MOO

I soooo agree. Probably the most high profile case he will ever see in his career. IMO, his tweets gave him away

Does anyone know if the Press Conference will be live-streamed, and if so where? Thank you in advance!

What does it say? In a nutshell? Thanks. :)

It details the things they searched, which was great to know. They did check out the Jeep, and the Uhaul, electronic devices, etc. What struck me though was a part that spoke of how LE was interviewing IM, and CL and NL drove-up in separate vehicles. CL hurriedly took a bag of some sort out of the back of the vehicle he was driving and took it straight into the residence. When he came out, NL hurried up to him, and the were speaking quietly. This led to LE thinking they were hiding something. It was an interesting read for sure.

Thank you! That does sound interesting. I'll read it tonight before bed.

Did some screen shots because I'm thinking you can't access the 14 page doc. All of these are from page 10 on.

A normal person would fear her husband if he is arrested for murder. But there are women who, as sick as this may sound, find it flattering. 'Oh wow. That's how much he loves me and will protect me!' :scared: So, if Nicole is one of those women then she'll feel no fear. Maybe she's even more reassured than ever that Chris loves her so much that he'll do anything for her. She might even justify it thinking that Chris is not a bad person for doing so. He was just protecting the family against 'enemies' who were threatening to destroy it. She forgets that the whole big mess could have been avoided by the husband not courting another woman in the first place but even that is excused away. 'Oh, the other woman seduced him. What's a guy to do after all?' Sick, sick way of thinking. :scared::scared:
