We don't even know if Erin was shot, as method of death...

No we don't. The presence of spent casings could only mean they target practiced or were hunting for rabbits or lizards or what not, before he pushed her down the mine. We don't know what part the rebar has played in this story yet, let alone any tires.

This crime seems pretty vicious for just a utilitarian killing. Trying to get the other woman off of your wife's mind.

What I also can't figure out is, where are the bullets? There's multiple casings, in the mine and in the car, casings that were fired from a .22 rifle right. I don't mean the ten .40s, because the report also said they matched the head stamp on casings in the mine to casings from the car that were fired from the same weapon. Where are all of the bullets that came out of those casings? They match the rebar, the tire tread, the casings, but no match on the bullets, not even on the metal composition. So they don't have 'em.

Could he have removed them from her body? Why even do that, if he's confident enough that she'll never be found. Confident enough to drop the casings, the rebar, the tires, but he takes all the bullets with him? Why also, did he only drop half the casings. Why did he leave some in the car for them to match.......

The thought process here is SO out of whack.

Maybe they where target shooting before the murder and the bullet casings were on the ground from that. JMO

Looks like EC moved to 29 palms in Sept. 2013....Jon came there in October. So she was there a month alone.

That probably didn't help that she was there by herself a whole month before Jon joined her. She was going to have to spend time alone later when he was out in the field and it would get lonely then, so being there a month, setting up their home and getting things ready for his arrival also had to have given her way too much alone time. However, that's the cheapest way to do it, instead of her coming after he got there.

Wasn't Erin adopted? Child wouldn't have to look like EC or JC necessarily.

True, but Erin's real father does not look similar to CL. And if the baby looked similar to CL, and it was not CL's baby, then either her mom, her mom's side or dad's side
of the family would have traits that could perhaps look like CL. But since that isn't the case of an alive baby, hopefully DNA will confirm who is the father if she was indeed pregnant.
IMOO.

Hi vallie
I read somewhere that Jon came home from Japan in October 2013. Not sure how long Erin was there before that.

hi, thanks Dmacky

In this MSM he states that he always thought he was her biological father. I imagine anyone could come out of the wood work and claim to be her biological father for their 15 mins of fame.

Well I think that Nichole would have access to all of the same things that Chris needed to pull this off. If some can believe that Nichole had enough control over Chris to get him to do this, it's not a stretch to think she could trick him into asking someone about body disposal on a dare. Nichole is the one who whispered incriminating details to the County Foghorn, for God's Sake!!

The person that killed Erin had to hate her enough to kill her in such a violent manner, I don't think Chris would ever have killed Erin out of hate. Maybe necessity, but this isn't a necessity crime. Not the way they're portraying it, with the burning and the "details" forthcoming.

The perp took the bullets but buried the casings? but not all the casings? Left tire tracks that matched the Jeep but no incriminating physical evidence on their clothes or at either residence? Used their own home computer to search how to dump the body, but disabled all the cell phones so they couldn't be tracked? If this was Chris it's almost as if he were trying to frame himself. Isn't it?

But most of what you have said here is actually opinion, rather than fact, isn't it? We don't know exactly how she was killed, so we don't know exactly how violent it was. Ramos did say awful, but that's all. And, since we don't know Chris at all, we really don't know whether he would have killed anyone out of hate or not. I think almost anyone would kill with the right motivation and desperation is a very good motive. Chris could well have been desperate.

You have me confused about burying the bullets and/or casings, or part of them, but I'm also not clear on exactly what they found down there. I would expect police officers to be pretty exact in their terminology. I don't know exactly how they wrote it but I have seen a few articles that referred to what they found as "spent bullets". Except that the bullet is the metal projectile only. For there to be a spent "bullet" in the mine shaft, it would have had to be fired at something, retrieved and then thrown down there. That is a lot of trouble. Or it would have to be fired at Erin and then left behind after decomposition (I apologize for that visual). If they were fired into the mine, they wouldn't be just laying around, then would be buried up in dirt, wood or at the bottom of the shaft. Empty or "spent" casings is another thing entirely, and what I would expect to be found "laying around" anywhere. I believe both bullets and cases have markings that can be used as evidence.

I believe someone else has already commented on the fact that we don't know whether CL's phone was disabled or not. It would be pretty stupid of him not to turn his phone off, but I guess we will find out once some legal proceedings begin.

It could have been a few weeks, depending on when in Sept. she arrived and when in October he returned.

This is completely OT...but shows how incredibly stupid people can be, even well-educated folks. On a "Snapped" episode tonight, a young woman, graduate of Ohio State, as her husband was as well, killed her husband. She made up a story about an intruder, but not only was the weapon found in her purse, along with the used shells, a receipt for the gun, and a love letter to another man, but it was soon revealed that a $300k policy was due to expire that same night at midnight. Her defense gave in right away as trial approached, making two offers before the state accepted. She had to plead to murder for 15-life and has already been denied parole twice since.

Anyway...I think LE may have nearly as much against CL...and maybe the same thing will happen once his lawyer reviews it all, especially if the death penalty is a possibility.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the defense attorney(s) should have state's evidence already??

He may by now, but he said he had not seen any sometime last week or so. Jmo

I think you also have to look at the time before she got there.JC went into the marines in June 2011.They moved in together in October 2013.In the 2 years and 4 months they went from BF/GF to engaged to married.I wonder how much time they actually spent together during all that time.

Maybe we should be looking at the lees relationship to see why cl cheated on nl. No theories just another pov to see why he reacted the way he did.

They arrived at the Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms in late 2013. Erin got a job, again at Tractor Supply Co., in Yucca Valley in January, but left in March for personal reasons, said assistant manager Darin Sanden.

She leaves the tractor supply job in March. Her husband says he found out about the affair in March and if you believe most of the reporting LE believes she was 3 months pregnant which would mean she got pregnant in March.Seams a little to coincidental.

Maybe he had cheated before Erin and NL told him she would not accept another affair. Didn't Erin text to her friend that he feared losing access to his child?

The exact date Jon returned is documented on an older thread. It is the same day he was promoted to Corporal iirc. If my head wasn't about to hit my key board, I'd search.
We do have a few facts here and there but my brain can't hold onto even one anymore. Scary.
