I did not know that. So a dishonorable discharge, or how does that work?
Could be either NJP or court martial. Depends on the unit and people involved. And yes, could very wellend up in a dishonorable discharge.

I'm sure LE will not be happy with this story, they went to great pains to keep everything quiet until they felt it should be released. I have mixed feelings on the subject personally. Does it help or hurt a case, to release critical details at a certain point?
I think this is all a bunch of horse@#!&. Too coincidental that the aunt just happened to try and drop this bomb the other day. Why ? Damage control, misdirection, blah blah. I think more proof is needed before even wasting time considering this possibility.

I think one of the FB pages was being taken down earlier. I thought I had something in my feed earlier about it. Just now, I tried to go to the "Praying for Erin" site and it wouldn't take me there despite it being listed when I searched for it.
2 things: other entrances to JT and a HUGE storm on July 4...
If there is foul play and Erin didn't disappear by choice...why would anyone even slightly familiar with the area enter through the gates of Joshua Tree where there are cameras??? I've traveled in/out of JT by a few other routes while off-roading and exploring over several decades - you can pay on your way out if you enter through one of these ways. (Anthony Martinez's body was found on the south side of JT on - or near - one of those entrances, which is the most difficult of the trails I've been on.) There are other trails in from the 29 Palms side as well. Granted, the perpetrator may not have had an off road vehicle, but if he's local why in the world would he CHOOSE to drive in/out of a gate with a camera instead of going ANYWHERE ELSE in the wide open desert that's right in front of him???
So if the perpetrator was seen on camera, which seems to be the case, and doesn't have an off road vehicle which also seems to be the case, he couldn't have brought Erin very far from the paved roads inside JT, even if she went along willingly. It's just too hot to plow through that sand, especially if you have an unwilling victim with you. That would leave tracks of some sort, unless they were wiped out some way, so onto a question I have...On July 4 in the afternoon, there was an ENORMOUS storm that traveled through many nearby areas quickly. I was traveling through Calimesa on the 10 fwy and we wondered why all the cars were stopped. Within 30 seconds we knew because there was a downpour that was crazy, including large (for SoCal!) hail, and since we couldn't go anywhere we turned off the freeway only to find all the streets flooded and every gas station and bank overhang occupied to avoid care damage from the intense hail. I know the storm also hit Big Bear and Yucaipa, but didn't touch Beaumont, so not sure of the path it took. It was really weird and intense, so I'm wondering if it hit JT and wiped out any possible tracks??? Anyone know?
As unlikely as it would seem the desert areas can have some strange weather. I even saw snow in JT one winter!

The article was removed on the Locate facebook page, and then reposted about an hour ago. It's still there.
I don't know why, at this point, they don't just address it. Just acknowledge it and move on.
Has she been found in Joshua Tree? I might have missed some news.
