Mostly I was voicing my disgust for the people on the Facebook page and just thinking out loud about what could have happened. I thought this was a safe environment to do that. I guess not. I'll save the "sappy" stuff for elsewhere.

Thanks for the pizza, smooth transition of the brks AP Marines, FRO, and all the helpers. The Marines will be taking some time off, unpacking their gear, trying to switch time zones, and catching up on all of the things they have missed during the deployment. To clarify, Erin wasn't at the base alone for an extended amount of time, right? TIA.
Who is judging her? No one here that I have seen. But if it is true, the scenario produces a possible new suspect. The whole point is finding out what happened to Erin. I have not seen any judgement. Jmo
She stayed in TN until just before he came back stateside, I believe she just went out a short period of time ahead of him to set up the house, IIRC.
Yes I agree. I think we are all pulling for the couple, without a doubt. But, part of figuring out where she may be, what may have happened, etc revolves around the company she was keeping, motives, timelines. I don't think anyone is judging her, just trying to figure out any/all possibilities and maybe even establish who could maybe know something.
Nail meet head, clu. This isn't necessarily the thread for all the sappy stuff. There is another part of the forum for that kind of stuff, IIRC.
A lot of military marriages happen at this young age, Imo. And a lot of girls everywhere marry right out of high school. It is not that unusual, especially in small towns, Imo. Nineteen is old enough o be in the service for a year already...so I guess they are expected to be adults.
But affairs or flings happen in all types of marriages, at any age. Should never be cause for a possible murder, yet we see it all the time, unfortunately. Pregnancy and/or money are usually the motives.
All jmo.
And those of us who are posting about why people have affairs, even good loving people, are trying to get inside her head and figure out what could have happened and if she had an affair, who she turned to for both the comfort of the affair and possibly a confidant about it.

The reason is not to get "sappy" but we're not allowed, on WS, to go with theory as if it were fact. Threads have been closed down for that reason. The mods must be busy now because of the new forum format or something. I, for one, don't alert unless something is really bad. But when posting, one must type 'if true' or 'what if' this or that - not just run with a rumor as if it were true because they read it on FB.
Longer (on WS) posters are just trying to help so that peeps don't get time outs and mods don't have to spend an hour cleaning up threads while we are shut down. I guess that's what it takes some times for peeps to get the message.
So true that people marry young, especially in the service, but obviously in this instance, it doesn't sound as if mature decisions were made. I still consider 18-19 year olds to be very young in general, as they should be. JMHO.
Sorry about my choice of words ("sappy"). I didn't mean offense. I said 'necessarily' as in it is certainly ok to voice those things in here, but just realize that some of us try to view cases a bit more dispassionately. Doesn't mean we don't care though. Of course we do. Again, no hard feelings.
