Several posters have wondered if it maybe wasn't Erin who was sighted by the Beasleys.

The info that she was wearing a baseball cap and ponytail is interesting. There are women who DO wear baseball caps, and women who don't. I don't own a baseball cap and wouldn't wear one - ever. There are women I know who often wear baseball caps, and ponytails out the little baseball cap hole in the back. It's a clue for sure, IMHO.
A ponytail wasn't reported. We don't know if that's how she was wearing her hair under the baseball cap. What Michael Beasley told JVM was "baseball cap and sunglasses".

Not sure - it did state that the warrants themselves were sealed because release to the public could jeopardize the case.

http://www.cbs8.com/story/26028006/...arine-wife-had-rendezvous-with-man-in-red-car

In requesting the sealing order, Sheriff’s Detective Bryan Zierdt wrote, “The warrants sought pursuant to this affidavit relate to an ongoing investigation of felony offenses, and it is expected that additional search warrants will be sought relating to this matter.”

BBM. Could be that they hadn't filed for a search warrant for the red car yet.

Didn't think so. But someone is sure trying to get some information out without going to the media, or is trying to fool us into misdirection

ponytail was in original interview with local reporter

What Michael Beasley said live on the Jane Velez-Mitchell show was: " blue baseball cap and sunglasses". No mention of ponytail or regular glasses. I have no reason to think he's lying. He was very credible.

Do you recall what color hair he described? I thought he said "sandy" but maybe he said "sandy blonde" ?

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned. I'm still catching up on all the comments to this story that I have followed from day one but if she was indeed having an affair I have not noticed anyone mentioning a Marine ( If he is a Marine) being U/A- Unauthorized Leave. It would be easy to figure out who the Marine is if he was UA. Of course they may know this but just throwing it out there. I love this site! It's a great site to discuss these cases. I appreciate how people act decent here and can actually have a conversation. Some of the other sites I have seen are insane. Going back to catch up on all the postings here. Thanks

I did not see JVM. I do believe the witness. I agree he is credible. Maybe it was sunglasses.
To some people glasses are glasses whether sunglasses or regular glasses.

ETA: some regular glasses have lenses that will change to "sunglasses" based on the lighting. Four people in my family wear these.
One minute they have on regular glasses next minute sunglasses but they are the same glasses.

Hello Fellow Websleuthers! I registered and decided to post based on another user's acute observation that there were many more lurkers than posters, so here I come, happy to join your community!

This case really resonates with me.

It's pretty conclusive that we know Erin was having an affair or otherwise relations with someone other than her husband. I can almost say that is certain. If not, her family would have spoken up with evidence to the contrary. And engaging in those relations doesn't make her any less of a person or make her less of a victim. But it sure does help point to areas of interest within the investigation.

I remember an article stating that the 2013 Corolla was "The Corwins'" car though I cannot link it now, but I believe that JC an Erin had one car that they shared. I don't believe that the position or potential moving of her car has big implications for this investigation. The point is, she met someone that she didn't want to share publicly that she was meeting, and then disappeared.

I believe that LE knows what's up and would not be searching in JT if they didn't have reason to believe she was there. I hope they find her soon. I agree with others that LE is building their case and that they are keeping quiet for a reason. As far as the spouses of Marines not speaking out- the spouses and SOs are typically expected to adopt the same standards as their husbands, meaning that if the Marines are ordered to keep quiet, so will their spouses and other family members.

I think that that the perp may possibly be a bit older than Erin, at least 25 and probably older. Maybe a commanding officer. I would be very surprised if it's someone of JCs rank and age. A younger perp would have buckled under investigation by now, and LE knows what happened and has a good idea of who they're looking for. May be two perps, one primary and one accessory.

My opinion is so close to what you have stated here, but I think there is only one person involved, not two. Also, even though having an affair doesn't make you less a victim, it DOES make you more prone to become a victim. How many times have we seen people doing what they shouldn't be doing and end up disappearing. Countless stories of this happening! People have to STOP with the cheating. It's disgraceful and an awful awful thing to do. And a lot of it does happen on military bases when spouses are away. I know, because I worked on the 29 Palms Marine Corps base and wives were admitting to it. It's never right and so many times, something terrible happens because of it. Many missing persons cases are because people are doing what they aren't supposed to. Just my two cents. It doesn't at all excuse the perpetrator and justice must be served! It just means that people have to start making the right choices in life for this to stop.

Linas, this is getting kind of silly. You can watch him say it right here in the video. A little ponytail.

http://www.cbs8.com/story/26028006/...arine-wife-had-rendezvous-with-man-in-red-car

Yes, there was more information in the longer video. For the shorter video they cut some of Mr. Beasley's statements.

I am more focused on Mr. Beasley's siting of the two cars and person that was potentially Erin as well as the other person he thinks was a male.
I am more focused on the car being moved as Mr. Beasley said in the linked videos.

Very, very important observations of this eye witness to something related to Erin. IMO

Erin disappeared on a Saturday, if the Marine did not have duty Saturday and Sunday and reported to duty on time for Monday, he would not need to request leave. Course, even on days off military members are supposed to stay within a certain mile radius of base or are supposed to request leave. (150 mile radius when my husband was active duty )
