Boyfriend? Where is this information coming from? So let me get this straight in my mind are you stating that even thou she was a young married wife with a baby on the way and living on the base with her spouse she was having a affair? Can you please share where the factual information is coming from on the boyfriend aspect of this? To my knowledge I have not seen any information pertaining to a boyfriend on a factual basis.

Investigators served one search warrant on Corwin's Toyota and another search warrant on a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee with Alaska license plates, records showed.

CBS News 8 obtained a photo of the Jeep in question; an image captured by a private, license plate reading company on the afternoon of December 22, 2013. The photo was taken in a mall parking lot in front of an Applebee’s restaurant near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Hwy and Warren Vista Dr. in Yucca Valley.

So I think it was just the news station being nosy and running a check on the license plate. Costs about $20 I believe.

Well, it's parked in his driveway in the video.
sorry I meant the affair. Still trying to figure out how to bold on this tablet! :giggle:

I don't think there's really any question that EC was having an affair at this point. Z107.7 broke the news with an article that said she told a source the baby wasn't her husband's. The CBS article about CL fills in the picture of the "mister".

Also from the cbs8 article:

Cpl. Christopher B. Lee, 24, was discharged from the Marine Corps on July 7, 2014 and is currently serving in the Individual Ready Reserve. Cpl. Lee served as a rifleman with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division.

Cpl. Lee entered the Marine Corps July 7, 2008 and received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps on July 7, 2014.

So that's the full 6 years. Why did he IRR?

You have to triangulate the three articles to come to this conclusion - but to me it just seems so clearly obvious from the MSM info that she was having an affair, the VERY FEW search warrants issued, the video of the car parked in front of his apartment, and his ID being made clear in the new article. I don't see how there could be another conclusion, if all the things listed in these articles is true:

That's a good question. It does seem by the dates - both being July 7 - that this may be exactly as planned all along.

Witness Says Erin Corwin Voluntarily Drove Off with Another Man Before Vanishing....

http://www.people.com/article/missing-marine-wife-erin-corwin-left-with-man-witness

NCIS steps in ... http://www.desertsun.com/story/news...n-search-ncis-investigation-missing/12808449/

The question on my mind at this moment is did Erin mention to anyone else besides JC that she planned on going to JT and her intentions for doing so? Has anyone stepped forward and stated this was the case. OR is this strictly JC relaying what the circumstances were behind her departure from home?

This is just my opinion and sort of bouncing off of your post, LadyLems.

The NCIS is going to be involved because IMO they know the suspect was an active Marine at the TIME of Erin's disappearance even though he may no longer be a Marine now. JMO

It is obvious that LE... no matter where they came up with the information about the park... believes whoever told them is very credible and that is why they have spent exhaustive weeks searching the park.

Imo, Jon has an iron clad alibi during the time Erin disappeared. Just like most police agencies across the nation they aren't going to rule anyone out or in by name publicly until they make an arrest. The first thing LE does is start with those closest to the victim and then widens out. I think Jon was at work on duty from 7am to 7pm and that can be easily verified in short order. I think Jon has been assisting LE in everyway he can since this nightmare began.

Whoever picked Erin up was someone she had been meeting before she disappeared. IMO The sister of MB said she had seen Erin's car parked there before.

Imo, LE has subpoenaed her phone records but that takes up to 6-8 weeks for the records to be given to LE by the provider. It will show who she called that morning and a history of her calls. That may be what they are waiting to receive...wanting to shore up their case before an arrest is made.

It was said in the radio article early on that the 'other' Marine's statement was filled with inconsistencies. If he told LE he did not speak to Erin that morning but the records show he did... then they will know he is covering up and lying. And the only reason someone would lie is if they have something to hide.

He may be dumb enough to believe getting rid of her phone removed any trace of his calls. Also I am sure he tried to delete all communication on his own phone but I have no doubt they obtained his cell phone in the SW. That also has to be forensically looked at too in order to retrieve any deleted calls/texts etc. So I think it is just a matter of time. LE is waiting to get all of these records back.

From the way Beasley talked she knew she was leaving with the man in the red car when he pulled up because she got out and locked her car up before getting in the car with him. Imo, she was waiting for him to pick her up.

Imo, this is the man who has made Erin disappear without a trace.

I don't understand the motive. If all of this was already out in the open between both households and he was about to be out of the Marines and move back home, why do this?

Neither Corporal Lee nor his wife responded to messages seeking comment for this report. Both have moved off base, said Capt. Smith. ---- from cbs8

So we know they aren't on base, but no idea who is where and if they are together.

The pregnancy changed things IMO

In a telephone interview, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Randy Naquin said neither Corporal Lee nor his wife have been named as suspects in Corwin’s disappearance.“Just because their names are in a search warrant or you received their names from some other source rather than the sheriff’s department; they're not listed as suspects or persons of interest so we wouldn't have a comment.” Naquin said.

Not LISTED as suspects or POIs. They still may be, it's just not written on paper. LE also isn't going out of their way to clear the Lee's names.

Why in this day does it take weeks for retrieve electronic data after a warrant has been obtained and served. The electronic footprint is vital in most investigations.

His hair looks short in the photo on the horse (but it's under a cap). Perhaps the photo with shaggy hair was taken when he was younger (teen-aged face breakout). Don't Marines all have short hair?

I can't figure out what made LE zero in on the jeep in the search warrant. They must have had cause. In the early reports, didn't LE say one of the persons they interviewed had an inconsistent story (Not the husband, the other unnamed guy)?

ETA: He graduated from Dimond High School in Anchorage, AL, and it looks like he is wearing his school colors (gold and burgundy) in the shaggy hair photo. FB jersey, maybe?

The shaggy haircut photo cant be when he was in the Corps. I have never seen a Marine with a shaggy haircut.

I don't think he has his hair pushed up under the cap in the horse photos. I think he has his standard Marine haircut then.

You would think they would step the process up but the subpoena first has to be sent to the phone provider's team of lawyers to make sure the subpoena is written correctly.

Once they have seen it and approve its legitimacy then it is sent on to another department head. He/she then assigns someone in the company to retrieve all the records and make copies. It does take time. I am sure these providers are having to answer many subpoenas now since it has become so prevalent in criminal and fraud investigations .

Of course one may ascertain from media reports and hearsay many different scenarios and probabilities maybe it is just me but I tend to deal in factual information. When reviewing situations such as what we are discussing now, I ask myself the following questions:

Does the report come from a credible, authoritative person or organization?
Does the reporting agency have a reputation for seriousness or for sensationalism?
Is there evidence of thorough research?
Is the story based on just one source?
Are the sources reliable, fair, and objective?
Is the report balanced, or is it written to convey only one point of view?
When the tone is angry, spiteful, or highly critical, it suggests that an attack is under way and not a reasoned argument.
Are the facts consistent with those in other articles or reports? If stories contradict one another that is a clear sign to be careful in what we assume to be factual.
Is the information recent enough to be acceptable? Something thought to be correct 2 years ago may be discounted today. On the other hand, if the news item is a breaking story, it may lack complete and comprehensive information.

In addition to the above in today's technology it is very easy for those in the know how to Photoshop images that are nearly undetectable sometimes even to a trained eye.

I just tread lightly thru all the muck and mire until such time either the evidence provided is enough to reach a factual or a reasonable conclusion.

Just my two cents worth.

Do you know if she returned before or after Erin disappeared ?

I have read elsewhere she left after Erin disappeared.

I don't really know if that is true or not though NEmom but it sure makes sense to me if she did.

  • #740
No, but they would be required to report that she is alive and the case is closed, IIRC.

Yes. But my point is that LE wouldn't be telling family her location. Not even her husband. LE just does not share with family.
