understood HOWEVER the story titled " Why, Why Kill The Donkey???" was typed/signed by IM.....bothersome since this story was printed in May 2014 yet NO mention of "one of their own" in such an awful circumstance a month later...maybe it's the motherly instincts in me that cause me to not grasp this....although I'm sure IM must have been aware that aside from JC, EC had no family in the area......unsettling :sigh:

I think your concern is valid. After the hullaballoo over the ceramic donkey, I think it's telling that she didn't post anything to express concern for a missing volunteer on their website. Even if she and Erin weren't that close, or didn't really connect, you would still think having someone you know personally go missing would prompt some sort of post. Possibly the omission occurred because she knew Erin was already dead. It might not even have been a conscious decision but more along the lines of how people stop calling someone they killed because they know they aren't going to answer. I hope that makes sense. It's been a long day already. :)

Oops, that affidavit shouldn't have been released. Since LE is probably concerned CL and NL may vanish in AK, I bet leaking damning information would make it less likely the Lees can curry favor, sympathy, and perhaps even assistance in disappearing, from friends and family. Whether or not it was intentional, it may have that effect. The pieces are coming together.

Ok. Thinking on this....MB saw the toyota (and presumably Erin) with a red car. Later his sister saw the Toyota but thought it had been moved further in. Toyota is later found by the water dept employee.

If the sister is correct and it was moved later it still makes sense. MB saw her walk around to the passenger side. Toyota is moved later and driver gets out of the driver's side walks to the waiting vehicle that has the tire treads that are consistent with CL's Jeep. No tracks are found at that time on the passenger's side because the car in not in the original location it was when MB saw the activity around it.

Mel. ( I hope that makes sense. It did in my head :-) )

This is what I've always thought, which is way I've been confused as to why so many people are confused about MB and the red car. The sister said the car had been moved. So there would not be two sets of footprints but two sets of tire tracks, one consistent with the Jeep. And who is to say he didn't borrow the red sedan and then go switch over to the Jeep before he and Erin went "hunting?"

There is a red sedan parked in front of the two apartments in the picture that was in the news video I just saw. I had also seen the still of the apartment complex and the red sedan parked in between both units.

I thought we first saw the video about Cassey (Erin's horse) on Erin's birthday?

http://www.desertsun.com/story/news...issing-evidence-search-horse-rescue/12763519/

The segment with Erin's adopted horse Cassie can be seen at the link above, published July 17 which was last Thursday. I'll go back in the threads and see if that's the date we became aware of the piece about Erin and Cassy.

adding ~ it appears the original publication date is July 16 (link to original post a few posts down).

It is so vast out there in the desert. They could have buried her anywhere. He probably knew the area pretty well and had an idea where the best spot would be to do the deed. There really is nothing out there and it is so desolate. Miles and miles of nothing but Joshua/Yucca Trees. Some hills and mountains, and nothing. I don't think he would drive her to a more populated area to do the deed, that doesn't make sense, what makes sense is him taking her out in that vastness where there is no one around and no cars around, shooting her and leaving her out there amongst the Joshua Trees.

Maybe I have lost my mind, but I swear I heard on Nancy Grace (so you know it must be true...LOL) last night that LE was looking for "containers." As in her body may be in several of them. Can anyone confirm that, or was I dreaming?

Hope this link works - haven't linked from another thread since new format on WS. It works!

Thanks to Meemaw12, it appears the story about Erin and Cassy was published on July 16.
It's annoying the way some media outlets are lumping articles together on a more recent date, without noting the original publication dates of the older articles included along with the newer article.

"Further information regarding the facts outlined in the search warrant will not be discussed. It is unfortunate such extensive details were released regarding this investigation because it can affect the outcome of the case."
http://local.nixle.com/alert/5237878/
Is there a :blindrage: emoticon? It is unfortunate that LE either has absolutely nothing to go on after all that (I doubt this) or let their prime suspects waltz into the wilderness without making an arrest. THAT can affect the outcome of a case!

Affairs ruin lives and families.

Lots of things ruin lives and families. There are also a lot of people who would not exist if people did not engage in affairs. Affairs happen. Divorce or counseling is the normal follow up, not murdering a 19 year old pregnant woman. As someone's sig says, we are all one bad decision away from ending up with our own thread. Can we please not bash the victim for being human? This is basically the equivalent of asking what a rape victim was wearing and if she was a flirt.

ETA: This is not just directed at Eileen730's post but a number of posts discussing the affair. My apologies for not making that more clear and my intention was not to single out Eileen730, but to make sure that we all (and I did say "we" in my original comment, myself included) remember that despite less than stellar decisions, no one deserves what we now think Erin got.)

I thought affairs were mutual consent and rape is not mutual consent, so I don't get the correlation between rape and an affair.
IMOO.

IMOO.

The (probable) murder is being compared to the rape, not the affair.

For future ref

IM said (and I will provide link when I get on my computer) that CL n NL moved to her place July 3rd and left for Alaska last Wednesday which would be July 16th, in case report gets written over re dates.

http://www.wbir.com/story/news/2014/07/21/ex-marine-who-knew-erin-corwin-arrested/12975351/

Megli said Lee and his family moved out of his apartment and into the house on Geronimo Trail on July 3. Law enforcement searched the house on day later.

"We had no idea what they were looking for," Megli said.

Megli said Lee left for Alaska last Wednesday.

I think it was by accident. The other search warrants were missing a couple of pages, which I assumed were the probable cause statements. It is standard to seal those from the public.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already as I haven't been able to catch up since last night, but the docs also were not redacted for names of those that LE probably doesn't consider POIs right now. Name of minor left in as well. Typically all that fine information is removed. If not by LE, media should have done that.
