I wonder what Erin was thinking, or what CL told her, their future might be since she had to know he was leaving the Marines within a week. Was that why she told him she was pregnant? To try to keep him in town? Was she under the impression he and she would leave together, for a new start? Imo she must have had an idea that he was okay with it (her being pregnant) or at least, not scared of him, if she was so eager to spend the day with him, "celebrating".

I know these people are young, but it is so odd to me to think that anyone of nineteen would consider it something to celebrate if you were pregnant by a married man, while married yourself. In what universe would this be a good thing? I can't even imagine telling my best friend if I had cheated on my husband. Even if I felt he was the "one" the shame would be too great. Anyway...jmo

Ok, where was he on 10/25/2012?

CBS News 8 obtained a photo of the Jeep in question; an image captured by a private, license plate reading company on the afternoon of December 22, 2013. The photo was taken in a parking lot in front of an Applebee’s restaurant near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Hwy and Warren Vista Dr. in Yucca Valley.

Cpl. Lee deployed with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines from November 2012 to April 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Looks like he lived in Yucca Valley before he moved onto base, but I can't be sure. The license plate reader photo of his Jeep was taken 12-22-13 in Yucca Valley.

Here's what I don't get-why leave casing lying about? I've picked up casings for reload purposes or to leave area free of casing, but if one committed a crime, why keep them?

This does not apply to CL (presumed innocent until proven guilty-while we discuss particulars of case), but in general, 99.9% of the time I SMH and think was it really worth it? Murder the only way out? What is wrong with people?

If CL killed Erin, do you think it was out of anger or more a sense of "it's got to be done?" I'm wondering if it wouldn't be difficult to kill her if he wasn't angry. That could have a lot to do with the method used.

Anger is usually acted out by strangling, beating, something up close and personal, Imo. If planned in advance, I would imagine trying to stay removed, i.e shooting from a distance, like a true coward.

OK thanks for the potato gun education. Over here the only way I could kill someone with a potato is through my poor cooking.

Must depart this fine forum. All the talk of food, but mostly starting to get blasted with severe thunderstorms and have to shut down. Screw the health food. Non-lethal (except to arteries ice cream.

may Erin be found, and found SOON!
stay safe in your thunderstorms

Regarding NL's Pinterest pages ~ The pins seem pretty normal to me. She focuses on her husband a lot, maintaining a long marriage, and ways to make relationships better. Also ways to handle, deal or survive people who are annoying, dishonest or disingenuous. Nothing alarming imo.

My eyes were tiring and just when I was about to leave the page, a pin caught my eye. It features a drawing of a man and woman in a boat putting something into a lake. The caption read something like, 'don't ask me what it is, just help me.' Then NL wrote, 'thought this was funny'.

Seeing the pin gave me head tilt (especially under the circumstances). Especially because I don't or wouldn't think the idea is funny at all, ever.

Another observation is NL announces her great relationship under pins by nodding to CL and their tight relationship, being best friends and such but, at the same time, some of her pins hint at her confusion or sadness. Probably almost everyone can relate to having ups and downs so, in and of themselves don't mean very much but, under the circumstances, noted. I see a woman who values her marriage but may have been sensing it slipping away. Yet, she was trying to find ways to pull CL toward her. Apart from the current circumstances of Erin being missing, (especially if it turns out NL is innocent of any involvement), my heart feels for any woman who is trying to make sense of betrayal and the pain associated with the experience.

Then, there is the boat "joke".

Can you post the link for her Pinterest?

Hope this works ~ http://www.pinterest.com/nmazing/words/

I don't know how to isolate just that one pin. Knox posted the link, same as above, in post #70 on this thread. The "Words" page ends with the numbers 9072.

In case the 'joke' pin disappears, NL pinned it from mommylife.net. Under the pin has "just - someecards.tumblr.net".

The exact words are, "Sometimes it's best not to question me, just help me dump the body in the river."
The image is of a man and woman in a row boat on a river/lake.

Heck, he could use his bare hands.

Let's just say he was smart. Would he chance being clawed or bitten? Would he shoot close-up and chance blood spatter? Would he use a knife and chance having defense marks?

I'm willing to bet, whether he's smart or not, that he shot her from a distance.

There are several interesting ones she pinned.
For example:
"My doctor told me to start killing people. Well not those exact words. He said I have to reduce the stress in my life. Same thing"

Another:
"You cheated on me so now I have to kill you."

Could be just innocent pins but under the circumstances kind of eerie.

My thoughts are it was out of panic. He had told EC that they were starting a new life together and perhaps she gave him an ultimatum to tell NL and was going to tell JC. He knew it was going to come out so he killed her.
Now if that's the case I think NL was involved in the cover up not the killing itself. I do believe she was involved due to her statementTo what extent I can't decide if she helped move the car or clean up the mess or if she simply seen through his lies. I know people think she could be the mastermind and IMO we (the world) tend to blame or accuse the woman but I think CL killed her to stop NL finding out the affair was still going on and she found out and helped cover it up because she disliked EC already because of the previous affair. Just my take on things.

Wow! Does it really say that!?

I wonder how Erin and NL interacted with each other both before the affair and after it started. When did NL find out? I'll bet she suspected for awhile before it was confirmed. Were the four of them, JC, EC, CL and NL friends before this? I hope we'll learn more about their relationships with each other before and after the affair started.

I think he knew he would kill her that day, if not the how and where.

Here's something I keep wondering about. It may have been answered, and I just missed it, but NL stated that CL was worried that he didn't have an alibi for the 29th. Does anyone know what her alibi was and why she couldn't/wouldn't tell the police that they were together?

You could be right cluciano63 but I still believe it was to stop the affair and pregnancy being revealed.

BBM: I've thought about that. This sweet little gal from TN, married her HS sweetheart, goes away when he gets assigned out of state and tells her BFF all about her sizzling affair with a guy on base and that she's probably pregnant by him? Wish I'd been a fly on the wall for that convo. Didn't either of them think this wasn't right? Was there no shame in cheating on her husband to the extent she talked about it freely with her BFF? Girls today! :gaah:

I have been wondering about June 29th too. Good question, why couldn't NL alibi CL for that day? Was NL somewhere where others were around so she couldn't give CL an alibi? More than that I'd like to know just what's up with this June 29 date? Something happened on June 29 I bet. For now, I'm thinking CL had Erin's body hidden at the ranch the night of the 28th and moved it somewhere else the next day. Why I don't know, but I'm very suspicious of that date, June 29th.

I've been wondering about that too. My theory for that is that she wasn't killed in JTNP but further away. And he didn't get back to the base at 1600 or he did and left again to hide her elsewhere. Remember camping was mentioned at some point and if he wasn't home either on base or at the ranch he's no alibi. NL was probably seen by others so she couldn't say she was with him. JMO.

Love and lust make people do stupid things. So does loneliness. Who says her best friend didn't give her a talking to? Who says she wasn't ashamed? We don't know that. And what was her best friend supposed to do, tell EC's mom on her? EC was pregnant and far from home. There was nothing her best friend could do about that but support her. The damage was already done.
