Exactly! I believe Erin was dead by the 29th, so the only thing I can think of that was so important is that they hadn't disposed of Erin's body until the 29th. What else could be so important?

About the only other thing I could come up with was LE may have questioned their whereabouts on that date....and questioned separately. She had an alibi....he didn't, i.e. stayed home alone all day. Did anyone see you at your home? No.

So, they're thinking LE will use that date to say that's when EC actually died. (If she has.)

And that's about all I could come up with other than what you posted.

MB said that the ball cap was the same color as the hat that the reporter had on. I'm assuming he was wearing a CBS8 ball cap. Does anyone know what the color of that was?

I think the reporter's was navy blue. I can't remember MB's exact words about the cap but I think the reporter asked if it was vibrant and he said no. Then he went on to say it was dark kind of like the reporter's but I don't know he mean navy blue. Just that it was a darker hat, not a light one.

I too have an adulterous affair with my Jeep. I would not read too much into his calling his Jeep "The Mistress" or his "Ball and Chain". It's a term of endearment for we car/truck enthusiasts. Our wives/girlfriends often feel like they're being cheated on because we spend so much time working on/cleaning/driving them.

My husband says his Harley is his mistress. But he refers to me as his ball and chain (lovingly, of course) when I won't let him by more chrome for it.

If he is convicted, would the Marines go back and change is discharge status since he committed the act while still active? Also, he has two years of IRR still, if he's convicted, he won't be able to hold up that part of his 8 year contract with the Marines.

Also, would the Feds also bring charges up against him because he was active duty at the time of the crime? Even if he's tried in Civilian Court, he still could face Federal Charges. I think.

If he needed June 29th to finish his Erin business, then there has to be a crime site and a dump site. There also must be someplace he hid the body in the meantime.

That's what I think too. I think he had the body hidden at the Ranch the night of the 28th, and disposed of it on the 29th.

CBS News 8 obtained a photo of the Jeep in question; an image captured by a private, license plate reading company on the afternoon of December 22, 2013. The photo was taken in a parking lot in front of an Applebee’s restaurant near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Hwy and Warren Vista Dr. in Yucca Valley.

Cpl. Lee deployed with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines from November 2012 to April 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Looks like he lived in Yucca Valley before he moved onto base, but I can't be sure. The license plate reader photo of his Jeep was taken 12-22-13 in Yucca Valley.

The picture was taken in Applebee's parking lot. That doesn't mean he lived in Yucca Valley (though they may have). For some strange reason Applebee's seems to be the place for people to eat at? I don't know why? But that parking lot is always full at dinner time!!??

From the interview with MB:

Reporter: Did..is she the girl you recognize in the photos now? Have you seen the photos of the missing girl?

MB: Yes I have and and it very well could be because her ponytail was short when I did finally see the picture of her it wasn't a long ponytail, it was...ehe...it could have very well been her but she had glasses on, it was sunny, she had a ball cap on, it could have been, like, inconspicuous view of her, you know.

Reporter: What color was the ball cap do you know?

MB: It was a dark color ball cap, maybe a little bit like yours.

Reporter: All right, wasn't orange, didn't have like TN orange or something like that?

MB: I couldn't say. It wasn't that vibrant or that colorful.

So, this doesn't really help either. I'm going to see if he gave any further details on it in the JVM interview. Also, from this, he isn't really sure if the woman he saw was actually EC, at least it seems that way to me.

Uhm. Hello! We need a recipe for that!!!!

Personally, I would rather have an invitation to dinner. It's over 100 degree's here and the thought of turning on my oven - uh no thank you!

I've had friends who have had affairs. No matter how happy they were in the affair, they were always conflicted. The more I objected, the "happier" the description of what was going on became. And it wasn't just me they were trying to convince. Eventually, I just learned to listen. Objecting wouldn't make them stop and would only serve to strain the friendship. And eventually, they would need someone to turn to when things went sour, as they do 99.9% of the time. I could be self-righteous or a good friend. I chose the latter. Happy people don't cheat. (Ok, happy people who aren't sociopaths don't cheat.)

People always talk. Someone always knows. Humans are social creatures.

I'm not justifying the affair. I just have lived long enough to know that even good people make really bad decisions sometimes and that what people present to the world to see is not always what they're really feeling. Even their BFF.

Thank you for your enlightening and respectful response to my post.

Good people do make mistakes and sometimes the consequences for it is way more than anyone ever imagined.

And you are right that most of these things blow up in their faces. This one certainly did. Heather Elvis is another one it blew up on. It happens way too often.

I've known people who have had affairs, and they weren't 19 year old teenagers. All walks of life, all ages.

So, do you think the crime was committed at the ranch and not JTNP? I can't imagine anyone driving around with the body of someone they had just killed. People do it, I know, but just can't imagine it. And, if he did move the body in his vehicle he would have had to do planning ahead to make sure he would have a tarp or something else to wrap her in so as not to leave evidence of hair, blood, etc. Premeditation, if so.

So maybe he was out scouting places to dump it and found one or knew of one he had to move it to.

Where would he keep the body overnight? Not in his car with 100+ degree heat.

I'm about to join the rest of you hunkering down for a storm. It should be here in about 15 minutes and rumor has it there may be quarter size hail. Hoping my tomatoes don't get damaged!

This is sad but where do they bury the horses that pass at the rescue??

I was not judging having an affair...just saying I personally would never tell anyone if I liked and respected that person and vice versa, as I would be too ashamed. Just me though.

He could have left it where he killed her. What other reason would he need an alibi for the 29th when she met with him on the 28th for if it wasn't to finish up his business with this? Unless he went off somewhere by himself for a mental health day to deal with what he did to her and no one saw him so he doesn't have an alibi?

I don't think CL killed Erin at the Ranch. I don't know the area at all, I've never been there, so with that in mind, I think he killed her somewhere between JT and the Ranch. I think he then "stashed" her body somewhere on the Ranch until the next day. I don't know why he would do this, but there's something important about the 29th that is very important to NL and CL. Now CL may have taken Erin's body far away enough that he may have been "traveling" throughout the night of the 28th and morning of the 29th to wherever they chose to hide the body. But would it be known if CL was on or off base the night of the 28th? To me it's one of these two things.

ETA: I do think this was premeditated by both NL and CL.
