In the probable cause section of the leaked search warrant, in the section where it discusses Erin's friend in TN and what she was told, it says that CL told Erin he was taking her hunting. I'm on my phone, or I'd link to a pdf of the warrant, but it is in context of what Erin told her friend...to paraphrase that section, CL was taking her on a surprise day trip, CL told Erin they were going about 2 hours away to an undisclosed location, CL told Erin they were going hunting.

From the probable cause statement - here is what her friend said - I changed her full name to JT.

JT, Erin's friend in Tennessee, confrmed Erin and Lee were romantically involved and Erin may be pregnant with Lee's child. Erin told JT that Lee was worried if his wife discovered Erin was pregnant, Lee's wife would divorce him and keep him from his child. JT knew Erin and Lee were going on a day trip together on 062814, for a celebration of Erin's pregnancy. JT forwarded text messages from Erin to support these claims. Lee told Erin they were going, to have a special day together and he would be taking Erin to an undisclosed location, approximately two hours from 29 Palms. Lee told Erin he was going to take her hunting.

And if you're going to dispose of a body, why drive it 6 hours away while it's decomposing when there are so many closer places to choose from?

I absolutely agree. I don't think he was driving around with a decomposing body in his car, especially for 6 hours through major cities. If he had a decomposing body in his car at all I think forensics would have confirmed it and he would be sitting in jail right now and not out doing whatever he is doing where ever he is right now.

Nothing has been verified as to how long he had. I wish LE or MSM would provide proof of CL's whereabouts that day and the next, but all we have (as fact) is his "statement" that he returned late 7/28. We don't know if that's been proven or not based on LE/MSM. Wish we knew!!

Well we do have the probable cause statement that says CL was worried about not having an alibi for the 29th.

Let's see here........

Nicole Lee has stated that they won't ever find her body, and without her body they got nothing on 'em.

The cops have said repeatedly that they don't know that Erin didn't just run off on her own.

In a court of law, a defense attorney is going to have a heyday with the cops own admissions.

Seems like to me, the cops are now in the position that they HAVE to find her, no matter what.

No body, no proof of a crime. I'm pretty sure a jury would agree.

If the perpetrator (or perpetrators) who made this woman disappear really planned it out carefully and thoroughly, they may in fact be right. If they hid her well enough, this will never go to trial.

From the PCA:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/s3.documentcloud.org/documents/1225468/1765-001.pdf

JT, Erin's friend in Tennessee, confirmed Erin and Lee were romantically involved and Erin may be pregnant with Lee's child. Erin told [Friend] that Lee was worried if his wife discovered Erin was pregnant, Lee's wife would divorce him and keep him from his child. [Friend] knew Erin and Lee were going on a day trip together on 062814, for a celebration of Erin's pregnancy. [Friend] forwarded text messages from Erin to support these claims. Lee told Erin they were going to have a special day together and he would be taking Erin to an undisclosed location, approximately two hours from 29 Palms. Lee told Erin he was going to take her hunting. It is highly likely Erin could have been harmed by an unknown firearm. Sometime after Erin left with Lee, her phone was deactivated ( turned off ). Detectives believe if Erin was injured and left at an undisclosed location, she would not be able to call for help.

HOLY S! Only 5 acres?! Rule of thumb is one acre per horse, and they must have AT LEAST 25 there at the ranch... *face palm* I'd like to observe their standard of care, but that's a whole different subject (however, may give more insight into IM..)...

This makes me sad. I know nothing about running a horse rescue ranch or the space needed to do so. But it seems IM has devoted her life to helping mistreated horses. Just can't understand why people are so eager to throw her under the bus. So far, that I know of anyway, there's no reason to believe anything other than she landed smack dab in the middle of a personal crime between people who volunteered at her ranch.

The troublemaker in me feels like the whole text thing is weird. I worry someone who knew about Erin's "affair" (and maybe it was only kissing) sent them from Erin's phone to try and direct the blame squarely on someone else. It seems so specific...two hours away, hunting? Maybe even someone who knew about CL's hunting plans. Obviously this doesn't line up with a lot that is going on, but the texts really don't seem right to me. Maybe if I saw them, word for word, it would make more sense...but it currently doesn't add up.

Funny thing about that U-Haul, it had Arizona Plates.

NVM

Not uncommon for a U Haul to have out of state plates. It could simply be because the last person rented it in AZ, moved to CA, and turned it in there. IMO

From the way I read it, I believe they are text from prior days - not from the same day. Probably texts from EC to her friend about what was going on in her life and mentioning CL. They would all be dated so they probably have a historical accounting of it if EC and her friend were in contact on a regular basis. It sounds like the texts are confirming the affair, the pregnancy and what EC said was going on that day with CL.

Maybe Erin texted her friend all of this information because she thought something was a little off about the whole thing as well. Especially the gun and the hunting part of the "celebration".

The only thing that is going to save this case is the fact that the Lee's had no idea she ever texted anybody about the plans.

Wow, what an interesting observation. A whole other area of discussion to explore (that I'll catch up to in three days if I'm lucky).

Cancel discussions -

Yes, it is more likely they drove to the pre-designated spot and the crime was committed there.
Does anyone know if the wife's whereabouts that day have been confirmed?

Yes, but I meant a statement by someone who isn't under suspicion for Erin's disappearance (and whom we can trust): a witness, LE, or MSM (with sources).

This is one of the biggest reasons LE should stop making statements saying this when they do in fact suspect foul play. These kind of statements by LE seem to happen in so many cases where foul play is obvious, and what LE really suspects. Why they do this I don't know, but it does hurt their credibility.

I'm sure LE will quickly determine the veracity of the purported evidence.
I believe it.

If you look at any U-Haul location, they have trucks from all over the country.

Not really an issue. It was probably one dropped off at a local U-Haul place that originated in AZ. They don't send the one way rental trucks back to where they originated. They just re-rent them. Now the AK U-Haul will rent out the truck that has AZ plates.

Oh, never mind, the explanations make sense.

I'd like to know that too!

I agree. I think that's why the special day was 2 hours away. Get her as far away as possible before doing the deed.

No, we don't know anything factual about her whereabouts that day. I haven't even heard a rumor. And where was their child? I'm hoping a babysitter comes forward to shed some light on the actions of these two.
