Totally O/T, but since I am fairly new here but very interested, I am just starting to look around at the forum. Is there some sort of "introduce yourself" thread anywhere?

"Deputy Mackewen learned from another neighbor that Erin and Lee were having an affair. JT, Erin's friend in Tennessee, confirmed Erin and Lee were romantically involved and Erin may be pregnant with Lee’s child. Erin told JT that Lee was worried if his wife discovered Erin was pregnant, Lee’s wife would divorce him and keep him from his child."[/QUOTE]

BBM but why would CL worry about his wife's reaction to EC being pregnant, since EC is married to JC, the proud papa to be? it seems as tho, through the text msgs between EC and her friend JT in TN, that EC was definatley planning on letting CL know that the baby is his hoping for a life together?? i dont get it, why not just tell everyone it's her husbands baby? unless her husband and her were keeping separate bedrooms? still , then only her and JC would know it wasn't JC baby. that would be cruel of her to have both guys thinking they are the father.

I don't think we can necessarily follow any of the participants logic based on the brief summary of texts that LE released, but I'm sure it would be perfectly clear if we read the actual texts themselves. Besides, we don't know exactly who was having relations and who wasn't, during this period, or who knew what when. (boy, I feel like Abbott and Costello - who's on first!)

Thanks so much for all the info! I always apply Occam's Razor, and it starts at home. I could never get the husband off my hinky meter. But if LE is looking long and hard at the boyfriend, and she texted saying she was meeting him, and he has made inconsistent statements, and there are cameras everywhere, well ...............

She could seriously be anywhere, though. JT itself is endless ... but what if she is somewhere else? Has there been any indication that his wife knew of the affair and had motive to help get rid of her - maybe she is just a victim in all of this? Or has she made inconsistent statements, as well?

What is Occam's razor? Thanks.

I think I remember seeing one once, but don't know where to even begin looking. Home page maybe??? This place is HUGE so I usually just use the "search" feature until I find what I want. Sorry, hopefully someone else can direct you to where it is!

Is there a place where we can read the probable cause affidavit? Someone posted it here but it is so small my aging eyes cannot read the words. Thanks. :)

I've always wondered about the abandoned condo that burned in 29 palms a week or two after EC went missing, for apparently no reason. But I have to think police were smart enough to check that out.

I don't remember reading a definitive answer as to what caused this fire but am certain if it were arson that the arson investigator would have been able to tell pretty easily that it was a set to cover a crime scene. Setting fire to something draws attention to it by the very people you don't want to discover it, fire and police. The perp would have to be really dumb to draw such attention to a crime scene. (You never know how long something is going to burn before it is put out.)

The sad part is, that warrant was never supposed to be released to the public, and may in fact have compromised the whole investigation. Not to mention how devastating it has to be for Erin and Jon's families, and poor Jon as well! And the friend of EC's from Tn.'s name was made public, and she was only trying to help. Then throw in the court of public attention. It's just sad :frown:

Sorry to be the voice of dissent, but I could not disagree more. The affair was already public knowledge at the time of it's release. And given the manner in which it was conducted (the specifics of which shall not be mentioned here), it's hard to imagine a less toned down reaction from the public in both quantity and quality.

Regardless, the public needed to know the warrant pc information because

1. Any Chris Lee sightings from that weekend will help the investigation.
2. More people than just the Sheriffs office are involved in the investigation.
3. Given both the data in the warrant and the actions with regard to search locations, it's difficult to imagine a more incompetent Law Enforcement exercise than this abominable search effort. (The public needs to know how bad the case is going)

Why Joshua Tree National Park? Why search in the last place she could ever be?

-She's not going there. She lied to her husband about her itinerary because she's spending the day with her mistress.
-They're not going there, they're going two hours away to a place where hunting is allowed.
-He's not going there, why would a selfish 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 spend all day in the sweltering heat and boiling sun when he can just as easily go to a national forest where there's shade, and where the thing you want to hunt will actually come out of hiding?
-A murderer isn't going there, there's thousands of people with ~twice as many watchful eyes. And when she's presumed lost, guess where all the cops are going to show up looking for her? The last place she said she was going.... Duh!

What in the world makes them think they'll find her there still? STILL??

Also, search warrants are made public all the time, sometimes people's behavior is brought to light because of this. Don't blame the public's right to know, because most of the time a warrant is due to that behavior. Such actions often bring shame and sadness to family, spouses and friends. This is why everyone should be cautious of their actions, they do have an impact on other people.

These thoughts are mine and mine alone.

Random thought... I don't think it's possible to have a 'boyfriend' and 'husband' at the same time.

I think this kind of thing happens all the time. With both men AND women.

BBM. Is this a known fact or FB rumor? If this is true ... wow. Very telling.

It's not from FB -- it's from reading military news website comments on articles about the case, which is also considered social media/rumor.

This case is so depressing I can barely click on the thread anymore.

White Rock Horse Rescue ... where Erin worked. Why was it searched and items taken, according to the affidavit? What does it have to do with CL and NL? I know this has been answered before, but I missed it ............
and what, pray tell, is a potato gun? Why does one get arrested for possessing one?

*thoroughly confused*

That is how I feel about the Jessica Heeringa case in Michigan ......... :(

I would read Threads 3-5. I can't remember exactly, but I think that is when this case sort of blew open and many of us had figured out who Erin was supposedly having an affair with by doing a little digging re: WRHR

That one too. Ugh. I hate the kinds of cases that are so promising at first and then fizzle. 9 times out of 10 LE and everyone else knows the who, what, and how, but they can't seem to get their ducks in a row. So here we are.
