Why, yes, actually I can. I don't think the jury would have any problem with that at all. I have been on juries for two murder trials and would not have had any problem with it at all because I understand the need for Operational Security. In order to protect both the investigation and innocent people who must be cleared through the course of the investigation, I think it's perfectly reasonable to release information on a need to know basis and, for the most part, the general public simply does not need to know. I'm as nosy as the next person but I'm also willing to wait for the chips to fall rather than be swept off the table by too much information getting out.
However, telling a civilian and potential witness to lie is entirely different. I think that would cause a huge blow up and rightfully so. JMO. Obviously, yours differs greatly from mine.
