I don't think the side of the car is crushed, I think it is the reflections and glare from the vehicles and trees nearby. The gas door is ajar and the window has been smashed and then covered with a solid black panel of some sort.

I am just catching up with the thread after not having power for the last two days! I am in WS withdrawal!

It seems there are a few new to me details such as the gas cap being open and the latest info about the phone calls with family. So sad overall. I am trying to accept the fact we might never know what happened to poor Erin.

I suspect you may be correct in this.
Not sure guessing games about the death of a stranger are in anybody's best interest.
It's not like a crime, a murder, for example with a court case and a verdict..
I'm increasingly feeling uncomfortable with the speculation when not a single fact is available about the reason for her premature death. I think that if I was a relative reading I would be hurt to my core.

Her personal FB page is still open, but all entries after Feb 2019 have been deleted.

Well that is interesting. Are you sure there were recent entries there before? Maybe she just hadn't posted since February.

Someone was mentioning tech CEOs microdosing with LSD, and I looked into that. Um, let’s just say that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Drugs in the tech industry are huge right now. All kinds of drugs and it is rampant throughout the industry. Just google “tech industry drugs”—it’s bananas!
She was a tech CEO on a trip in Silicon Valley at two different tech conferences and meeting up with old tech colleagues. I’ll be shocked if drugs of some sort didn’t play into her death. It could be just as simple as doing something she wasn’t used to, did too much and OD’d or died from a secondary effect (hyperthermia, dehydration etc.). The environment she was immersed in that week might have been conducive to her trying new things. IDK, but it’s sad. MOO

Or at least until after the memorial services, if that info comes from the family. I want to say November 2 is the last one.

Although I didn't know that about drugs and Silicon Valley, I agree 100%. Unless she was a diabetic, all signs point to this being the case. Poor Erin :(.

I understand the family's need for privacy, but why not make the whole page private or delete the profile? Seems strange to delete certain posts but not others (or were the posts simply made private/friends-only?). I'm no longer on facebook so I can't see her page. fyi, facebook used to allow you to download all your stuff before deleting, so it's possible to retrieve all the memories before deleting a profile.

Makes me wonder whether they've received the autopsy report.

If she were (undiagnosed or later onset) bipolar, being in a manic phase would increase the likelihood of risky behavior, including drug use, that she wouldn't have normally done. On the flip side, alcohol might affect her differently and more strongly. I have loved ones with bipolar disorder, and in the past, it's been hard to know whether a manic phase caused risky drinking behavior, or binge drinking triggered a manic phase.

I know that bipolar disorder wouldn't have directly caused her death, but it certainly could have contributed to behavior that may have. My heart goes out to her and her loved ones. Whatever the cause, it's frightening to try to help a family member when they're far away and you know that something is wrong with them.
