I’m not able to look at any maps at the moment, but this reminds me so much of the case of my friends aunt that we had going on here. Same thing, stopped at a gas station to ask for directions, she was confused and disoriented also, it was late, and never heard from again. It ends up she crashed, she went off the side of a cliff and her car was upside down in the river below. The family rented a plane to fly over and never spotted the car. Since it was upside down, the dark underneath blended into the river. Months and months later kids walking beloveds bank found her bag with personal info and she was finally recovered.

Are there any bodies of water around the area EV was lost in? It’s the only reason I can imagine the car hasn’t been found (if it’s not voluntary). Well, not the only reason, but a good reason.

Yes, unfortunately, EV may have met with an accident. Ugh.

JMVHO.

Lisa Harvey. I remember this well.
I’ve never forgotten her. “To know me is to love me”.

I think a similar situation here, where the gal is off road. My map upthread shows where I would search.

Yes, all bodies of water should be explored in the region Erin went missing,

If I had time, a list of all bodies of water in the near vicinity of the 'ping' or near the airport should be compiled and explored as much as possible, but if LE hasn't made it official....

IMO, if there has been erratic conversations (as reported on SM), then Erin's cellphone could well have been off-loaded by her in frustration; perhaps even mid-afternoon on 7 October and Erin is not to be found in the area of the phone ping.
I'd be suggesting that all dumpsters and trash in that area be checked in an effort to locate her phone.

Looking at this through her lens as a technology expert, an App developer and an entrepreneur, would she throw her phone away because she got lost driving to the airport and missed a flight?

I wonder how she felt about the award - since she missed the event where she received the award.

If anyone has ideas on places that should be searched, places she could have run off the road, resources that could be used, PLEASE share them with the family on the facebook page. I'm sure they would love those ideas so they can clear them!

The area on the map I suggested is the only logical area where she could be undetected, theoretically. However, as I posted upthread, I personally went off an embankment off hwy 101 in a very busy area of the freeway, and only one person stopped. It took him a good 30 minutes or so to find me as my car was upturned and hidden by foliage.
So you never know.
If not for him, I would have died there, only to be found who knows when.

Since LE isn’t investigating this as a missing person case, yet, I wonder if the family could contact the hotel restaurant to have them check cameras from Monday night. (If there are any) To see if she was there and if so, was she with anyone or was anyone suspicious around? Not even sure they would do this without LE involvement. They need to start looking for this woman. MOO

I don’t have FB if someone could share my suggestion above regarding the hotel with the family I would appreciate it. It’s worth a shot to contact them since LE aren’t at this point. MOO EBM

The CEO of a Utah-based tech company is still missing after she made a business trip to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Glad he found you! Yes, we've seen time and time again how people in vehicles go down a cliff or hill and sometimes aren't found til years later.

I can see how this could have been the perfect storm here.

Manic episode or the beginning of a psychotic break.
They can happen without a prior history.

Lost.
Confused.
It's getting dark.

She's not on her home turf.
She has a rental car to return likely by a certain time.
She has a flight to make at a certain time.

She's desperate to get home.
She's having issues with the GPS.
She's in an unfamiliar car that is low on gas.
She has no idea how long she can drive before she runs out.

I would be completely freaking out! Distraught would be an understatement.
If already manic I could see her believing she could drive back to Utah.

Rosesfromangels, would you like to pass this suggestion along as well?

This is an interesting article that may be relevant here.

Under California law, rental companies cannot activate GPS technology on their vehicles until the car is 5 days past the date it is supposed to be returned.

Because law enforcement believes that she may be voluntarily missing, I doubt they can do anything at this point.

State law treats missing rental vehicles a “contractual dispute” between the rental companies and their customers.

“It is ironic in this day and age — with how much access to how much information that everyone else has — that we aren’t able to access that data, even when you’re in breach of a rental contract,” Laguana said.

Sorry, what is the suggestion? To call the NEst hotel? I would think that would be one of the first things they did?

Well, today is day five so maybe the rental company will activate it today? MOO

Well that would make today our lucky day!

If that is the case, the car company should be able to do that NOW. It’s been five days. I will post that on the Erin missing page. The ability to do that would be agreed to in the car rental contract IWT.

Well LE would call and ask about cameras and incidents that may be relevant to her missing that night, but not sure family has.

Ok. I posted all your good suggestions on the FB page the family monitors. The GPS find is a great one @MassGuy

I think she knew early on that she was not going to make the 6:40 flight. We don't know when her manic episode started or what triggered it. Getting to the airport (she wasn't too far away) and trying to catch another flight would probably have been her next priority.
