Plead not guilty. DA will not seek DP.
*Robert Baker (55/now 58) (wife’s BF) charged & indicted (8/7/17) with capital murder & conspiracy to commit murder. Plead not guilty.

The Toronto-raised Sementilli, 49, was murdered on Jan. 23, 2017, his body discovered by his horrified daughter.''

''Sources told theToronto Sun that the sensational trial is slated to begin on March 22, 2021 after numerous delays, most recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With COVID, the situation can be fluid but no matter what, the trial is definitely happening this year,” a source said.

In addition, the lovebirds’ trial has been severed — meaning they will now be tried separately.''

Judge torpedoes LADA's scheme to go easy on accused black widow | Toronto Sun

''A Toronto family is breathing easier after a Los Angeles judge torpedoed a gambit from the city’s new soft on crime district attorney to cut an alleged black widow sentencing slack.

Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen refused to dismiss the special circumstance clause that can potentially send a convicted felon to prison for life without the possibility of parole.''

''According to CBS Los Angeles, lawyer Robin Sax — who is representing Fabio Sementilli’s family, his son and two of his sisters — filed papers asking the judge to maintain the special circumstance charge of murder for financial gain and murder while lying in wait''.

“Our family will never get closure like this. Gascon’s special directive must be suspended for this case,” wrote Luigi Sementilli, the victim’s son from a prior marriage.

“It is truly disturbing to know that such a blanket directive can come into effect without any reference to the circumstances of each case. This does not encourage an arena for justice.”
