CA - FBI Asks Public to Help ID Boys - Please Look!

Not sure this has any significance but one of the pics looked doctored to me.

I have messed with copying pic parts onto other pics before a little (although nothing to do with of any kind) and have seen similar shadows around a sloppy cut-N-paste job.

I hope the children pictured are alright.

Which pic do you think was altered?

I thought that the first pic looked like someone was playing with the digital software and that it looked like most of the background in it was erased.
To me the first two pics looked similar to pics I took when I first got my digital camera. The first pic the boy had the yellowish coloring that often happens when you take pics indoors with no flash and only indoor lighting.
The second pic, showed signs of attempts at color correction by someone unfamiliar with the digital software photo finishing. But I hadn't picked up on any cut and paste, I am curious about that.

To me the first two pics looked similar to pics I took when I first got my digital camera. The first pic the boy had the yellowish coloring that often happens when you take pics indoors with no flash and only indoor lighting.

The top pic (boy with mouth closed) has those shadows around the right side of his head and also on the left side of neck. If someone was erasing background then it would have been more difficult around the lightbulbs which are small and curved but those were fine. The special "shadows" are only around the boys head so the head was likely pasted into the pic from elsewhere and it brought just a little background with it. Its almost as if he was working in a hi res screen mode and failed to notice that sliver of background or maybe considered it unimportant.(side note:Notice also the piece of strap or bandage on lower right side of neck near level of jaw.-I am curious about that.)

I played with various sizing of the pics, various color hue changes, color amount changes, brightness, gamma correction lvls, contrast,grayscale, even flipping the image to face the other side. I forgot to try reverse (like an X-ray.) I also did not look at the description part of the file to see what might be there. I figured L.E. probably would have people who would do that if they thought it needed to be done.

One other thing I noticed: It seems they are all lighted with extra light from left side of the pic (the subjects right.)

As I said, it might not be of any significance. I just mentioned it in case.
Whether the background was erased or the head and neck were pasted in, the picture looks as if it was altered on a computer.

Note:I realize this comes very close to "case discussion" which is suposed to happen in missing/located but I didn't see any thread there yet to discuss it.

I don't have anything to add about them though as that's all the tiny bit of info I had to contribute.

BB, he sure does, and many here have noted that. It will probably drive us all nuts trying to remember where we've seen that photo.

I did send his photo to the contact person of Josh Rivera today asking her if it could be a photo of her son back when he was five. So far, no reply, and maybe I will never hear back if they have located Josh.

Maybe in the coming days we will hear more on who/why the FBI are asking for help, I sure hope so.

Becba, this is starting to get confusing since they are discussing this same thing on the Duncan thread and you have to go back and forth to keep up .

As far as the Thanksgiving at Jen's video, IF these children are possibably connected to JED, I'm sure the LE has viewed ALL OF HIS VIDEOS.

I'm thinking there's a chance these boys may NOT be missing, but their photos surfaced and they are trying to identify who they are.

As the exact circumstances of these kids are not known, as as the 3rd boy looks so familiar- it was thought best to post the kids here also, in order to have the avenue explored. Let's face it, we don't normally see kids faces unless they are missing. So it was the familiarity of the 3rd boy that prompted the posting here.
They could be victims, they could be also be missing, they could also just be random photos of someone's relative.
Not only are the circumstances of the boys not known, the circumstances of the origination of the photos is not known.
They could be from Duncan, they could be from Schwartzmiller, or they could be from one of the other perverts out there.
Since there are so many unknowns, it is best to have the photos viewed by as many people as possible, and to check them against the missing kids.

I'm not sure why you had to explain it to ME, I was the one who said it was a good idea! I just said it was confusing.

I am thinking that possibly these kids were approached, photographed, but not missing. They could possibly be witnesses to a predator. The strange deformed ears in the first photograph should be easily identified. I have actually seen a young man about 15-18 years old in the past year that looked like that. When you work in the optical profession like i do, you notice that sort of thing because the person is so difficult to fit.
