Waiting until the morning presser before adding more tags to this thread, such as:
random victims, domestic (violence? disturbance?), mental illness, ar-15, assault rifles...and more
Such as sad and horrible day for the city. :-(
Santa Monica Strong...it *will* recover!

I didn't see anything about mental illness.
Two officials said Friday night that the killings began as a domestic violence incident and the victims in the home were the gunman's father and brother.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the case.

A law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN on Saturday that the gunman had suffered mental health issues. A couple of years ago, he was hospitalized for treatment after allegedly talking about harming someone, according to the official.

Also, CNN TV reported earlier this morning that LE may release more info around noon Pacific (3 pm Eastern).
