"The dead are Manas Ucar, 58; his wife, Margrit, 49; and twin daughters, Grace and Margo, both 21. Also found was Margrit Ucar's 72-year-old mother, Fransuhi Kesisoglu, said sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Erin Giudice.

Manas and Margrit Ucar originally immigrated from Turkey and the grandmother was a legal resident from Turkey, she said."

I think the family is Armenian and, if so, are most likely Christian, especially considering the girls are wearing crosses in their school pictures. So, I wonder what the deal was with the mother going to eat lunch with them every day?

I jump to agree. i haven't read further in the thread as yet. i do NOT, without further information, think them other than Christian.

Autopsies on the five family members began Monday, but authorities did not establish a cause of death as of Tuesday afternoon.
Manas Ucar, a consulting engineer and a former assistant professor at Syracuse University, appeared to have a gunshot wound. Another one of the family members seemed to have a gunshot wound, but authorities were not certain.
Three relatives found the bodies Sunday, on Margrit Ucar's 49th birthday, after breaking a window to enter the house at 31 Campanilla. Family members broke a window to the house to gain entry.

So now we know why the girls were not missed at school!

UC San Diego officials confirmed with NBC affiliate KNSD-TV that the twins were both human biology majors at the school and had graduated at the end of the winter quarter in late March.

A former professor of Grace and Margo said the girls were "good students and kept to themselves." The twins were scheduled to walk in UCSDÂ’S graduation ceremony on June 22.

Was this family murdered for revenge?
From what I've read it was intentional, not a random violent act.
Why slaughter 5 members of a family?
I'm guessing a work related deal gone bad or a jilted lover.

Philamena, all indications are that it was a murder/suicide.

From the forums. But the mods are trying to get us off the forums and into the *Publish your stuff* section; which is the comments. It's is 95% men and we discuss high school football.
