I'm thinking that as well. I think he and his attorneys never thought that the jury would believe a homeless woman. Now, I'm really curious about the other rape charge.

Jury probably figures that sentences on guilty charges would run consecutively and he would not serve any additional time for the remaining charges.

Why not life?

In the round-table talks they're having on Court TV they said that in the rape charge, the jury did not convict him on some of the enhancements of the rape charges (like sodomy, etc). Those "enhancements" would have given a sentence of 12 years to life, whereas without them it is only up to 8 years or so.

At least, that's what I think I understood them to say.

Interesting, alternate #3 is on the way to the court to talk about a comment he made about juror #12's comment that made he think that Juror #12 should not be on the jury.

It appears that Defense doesn't really want to hear about what Alternate juror has to say about juror #12. They want to just accept the deadlock.

#KellenWinslow - The judge is now giving jurors an Allen Charge, that is given in some cases when a jury says they are deadlocked. Jurors are sent home and will return tomorrow morning.

I don't blame them. If I was the defendant, I would be upset that the jury is going home while still in deliberations and I just been found guilty of Rape. There will be more media coverage surrounding this case on the news tonight since he was found guilty. I don't think this is fair to the defendant. Moo

The Judge has to give them the Allen Charge that is custom procedure in any trial. I understand the defense wanting to go with the verdict already stated. The Verdicts are less time as far as the defense is concerned.

If the jury does come back with more charges then KW could spend more time in prison. Not sure that will happen.

I wonder if juror #12 doesn't understand English very well. He could not have a good memory either. What #3 said was not a good reason to replace him though. jmo.
