Well, all I found on the Gabriel's Justice page on FB is that the Judge believes the trial will start in January 2018.

Can't find anything else..... :dunno:

That's all the info I've got too. There is another pre-trial hearing for Pearl and Isuaro on 8/18/17 and the jury trial is still scheduled to start 9/26/17. It's taking soooo long! I hope and pray the trial will finally start that day!

:wave: Niner! I've been out of town for a couple of weeks. It looks like the trial will still start on 9/26 however the trials have now been separated. There will to be 2 trials. Isauro's trial will start 9/26 and Pearls should start in mid November according to the Gabriel's Justice FB page.

There's a very good article posted on the Gabriel's Justice Facebook page. It was posted on Sept. 11th and is from The Antelope Valley Press. Unfortunately the news paper is subscription only and I don't have a subscription so I can't share it here. Lot's of info on how the trial will progress.

It's really a shame. The Los Angeles press is doing a horrible job following this case. I can't find an update on the social workers trial. I'm guessing there may have been a continuance filed, again. :gaah:

I just went to the Antelope Valley Press - and I see an article (starting) to say
1st trial October 16th - but of course I can read the article - so since Isauro Aguirre the BF of mom is scheduled for a Sept 26th hearing - I'm going to go with this being HIS trial that is going to start then. At least that's what I'm putting on my sheet! LOL! Because I have a note that says Mom's next court date is mid-November.

Hi Niner. Yes, they have separated the trials. Isauro's will be first and start Sept 26th. Are you able to access the Gabriel's Justice Facebook page? The entire AV press article is posted there on Sept 11th. I'm not sure if I can copy and past it here as it is from a facebook page and may violate TOS.

I should say, jury selection for Isuaro's trial starts Sept 26th. Opening statements will be Oct 16th.

From what I've read, out of 300 jurors, 100 have been eliminated. The remaining 200 have filled out their questionnaires and are invited back Wednesday to see if they'll be either sitting in the jury box, on the sidelines as alternates or dismissed, in preparation for the start of the Aguirre trial.

Prospective jurors were asked to fill out questionnaires, with Superior Court Judge George G. Lomeli telling the potential panelists that Isauro Aguirre, 37, is charged with murder in the May 22, 2013, death of Gabriel Fernandez, who suffered “extensive internal and external injuries.”

The murder charge includes the special circumstance allegation of murder involving the infliction of torture.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Aguirre and co- defendant Pearl Fernandez, 34, who will be tried separately.

I started reading about Gabriel 2 weeks ago and I have had to have so many breaks away from it that I was going to give up. The reason I didn't give up is you LabourDayRN. You have done Gabriel proud keeping this thread up. This morning I decided I'm going to see this through until the end, even though my husband says I'm going to make myself I'll with all the crying I've done. Gabriel didn't have a chance to take a break from his torture so the least I can do is be a witness to justice being served for him and understand what he has had to endure. Well done Labourdayrn for being Gabriel's advocate.

Oh my. I've worked 13 hours two days in a row and just signed on to WS now. You brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for your kind words. His story broke my heart and I just NEED to see justice done. I'm glad we have a group of people here hoping, praying and waiting for justice. I have faith these two will be found guilty.

According to the Gabriel's Justice Facebook page, today is the day that jurors will be selected. I have no idea how we will get information on the trial. I don't know if it will be broadcast anywhere or is we have to wait for news reports. I think it will be the latter. Thank you again, I appreciate your words with all my heart.
