Earlier on the CNN someone suggested that the perp would have been immediately finger-printed (even if he's unconscious) and that just about everything known about this man will be available to the media within an hour or so - even his favorite flavor of ice cream :D

Patience, please. Details will come out within the next couple of hours. :moo:

FBI taking lead on investigation

I hear the frustration in this reporters questions, voice and intonation that he wants to know who this person is. Reporter feels LEO know who this person is but they are not willing to go on the record yet with any information. Reporter said may or may not be a TSA (current or former) employee - too early to verify any info.

Gunman had an AR-15 rifle in a bag, took it out and began shooting, made his way through a checkpoint and continued his way down the hall in terminal three - officers went into immediate response not waiting for SWAT team (relatively new tactical strategy within last 5 years). Small cluster of officers engage the shooter right away to draw gunman's fire vs. firing into the crowd, speculate this is why so many lives were saved. City is on partial tactical alert - officers are not allowed to leave their shift - vacations for today are cancelled. Whitehouse Senior Staff have been briefed. 7 injured, 6 taken to hospitals - west side of LA - southbay curve, 105 century dumps out @ LAX - all standstill (parking lots). (per CBS LA) Airport shut down - people have nowher eto go.

Los Angeles — A gunman armed with a semi-automatic rifle opened fire at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, killing a Transportation Security Administration employee and wounding two other people in an attack that frightened passengers and disrupted flights nationwide.

Los Angeles police Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger said the unidentified suspect, who was apparently injured following an exchange of gunfire with officers, was in custody.

Tim Kauffman, a spokesman for the American Federation of Government Employees in Washington, confirmed Friday that a TSA officer was killed. Kauffman said the union’s information comes from their local officials in Los Angeles...

Hold on all flights into LAX - most flights are not coming into or out of this airport. Earlier reports of 2 gunman appear to be false - one gunman shot his way thru security - hitting one TSA agent who has died (per early/preliminay info). News conference @ UCLA med center happening soon.

Per helicopter pilot - no moving traffic @ all. Departure/Arrival level has a lot of passngers. The Fire Dept helicopter has left the scene - no longer needed and they picked up 3 color triage - good sign no more victims. SWAT was acting as security for LAPD K-9 search officer working hand in hand with LAPD and Airport police. Systematic search on all parking structures @ terminal 3. K-9's doing high risk systematic search of every vehicle/wheel well, stairway/stairwell, every bag, every nook & cranny - they don't know what they are searching for whether accomplances, firearms, bombs, etc.

Hospital spokesperson speaking said one of the victims has "other" injuries, not gunshot.
