Family of man shot at Mission Valley mall parking lot pleads for answers
Cousin says Salvatore Belvedere's organs donated
http://www.10news.com/news/family-o...-mall-parking-lot-pleads-for-answers-12272013

"Please continue to pray for the return of Sal's beloved brother Gianni," said Bonato. "On behalf of my uncle, my aunt and my entire family, we would like to thank the San Diego Police Department for their relentless efforts to find answers to this horrible tragedy."

Apparently, Gianni has not returned. This is a very bad sign. His Family has pleaded on the news for Gianni to return. Where is he now?

There's just no gentle way to bring up the options of what may be going on with Gianni now.
I can only figure either
(1) he was abducted by whoever shot the others,
(2) or he is on the run,
(3) or he couldn't face what happened and has done himself in,
(4) or he is going to come back and explain what happened,
(5) or he was wounded, fled, and is unconscious in some remote area.

There's not many other options. This is a very sad case.

A wild thought would be that somebody did something to Gianni before the mall incident, and he was never at the mall. Any other options?

I agree so many questions and no answers. Treating this as a "traditional" missing person I would wonder did his cell phone ping, was it on, where is his car!

It has been almost 5 days since the shooting and disappearance of Gianni. If he left in his car out of San Diego County he would have had to go through at least one of four secondary border check points. Although this check points are not always manned they do have 24/7 surveillance cameras. In other words you cannot drive out of SD without being monitored.

Secondary Border Crossing Exits out of SD.
1. Mexico
2. Imperial County
3. Orange County
4. Riverside

IMO he was not abducted or unconscious in some remote area. Would the SDPD not place a BOLO on his car? I would hope so! I do not see a favorable outcome for Gianni in any scenario :scared:

Interesting mention in the link you provided Curious Me...

On Sal Belvedere's Facebook page in October of 2012, his sister Laura wrote, "We are planning your funeral."

That post has been removed and police say they have seen it, but are not sure what to make of it.

Meantime, family members are desperately searching for answers

This may be the family member who had the search warrant executed for. They did show it on the news in terms of removing items from a home but were very tight lipped about it. Once the video is posted on KFMB website I will post a link.

Oct of 2012? I would guess it was a joke of some sort. Something I could see myself writing to a sibling if I was either teasing him or p'oed at him in a humorous way. If it were more recent, or if there has been a lot more negative stuff between the two, then maybe I would consider it more seriously, but, I don't think it is anything. Jmo.

I agree whole heartedly! I can only assume the pain she must have felt in seeing that old post. However a search warrant was issued for a family members home and items were removed. If in fact it was his sister I would only hope that LE is just taking all precautions.

I wonder if a family member has a licensed gun the same caliber as the murder weapon. If that was the case, I would expect that LE would get a warrant to obtain it for evidence, or to rule out.

Lighting a candle for Ilona now. She was only 22 yrs. old. It's so sad. I feel like I got to know and like her from reading her live journal from years ago. She wanted to marry Gianni even back then.

Fly free, Ilona.

Vigil Set for Woman Killed in Mall Parking Lot Shooting
http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/loc...ey-Shooting-Victim-Ilona-Flint-237839631.html

“We will be sharing stories and embracing one another and anyone who wishes to share a few words about our beautiful, amazing Ilona is more than welcome to,” the event page states."

"Briones said Flint’s mother and stepfather are expected to attend the vigil."

There's definitely been talk about why this is still being called a vigil for Ilona (and not Salvatore also, especially since his death was announced over 24 hrs ago)

Some news stations are changing their wording of it, however.

Anyway, here's a picture from it.

The fact that it's been a gorgeous week here, sunny and warm, makes the turnout very interesting. The fact that it's been a gorgeous week here, sunny and warm, makes the turnout very interesting.

Seems like all the local news stations are on this, but the facts and the real story are on hold for now. LE seems to be confidently working in the background. They don't seem to think there's a mad shooter out there. The search for Gianni has been mainly through the family reaching out on the news in a careful, quiet tone. But, yeah, they have to check the borders and any card/cell activity.

Slain woman recalled at vigil as kind, loving
http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/dec/28/ilona-flint-belvedere-shot-vigil/

"The courage you showed in your last moments should inspire all of us,” Flint’s stepfather, Nathan Jones, said of her as he broke into tears before the crowd."

and

"Family members and friends say Flint and the Belvedere brothers had known each other since high school in Provo, Utah. Jones said Flint was engaged to Gianni Belvedere and moved to San Diego to be with him."

Sorry, this is more sad news for any locals. This is for Loren Nancarrow, a delightful person who will be missed.

San Diego TV Icon Loren Nancarrow dies
http://www.10news.com/news/san-diego-tv-icon-loren-nancarrow-has-died

"According to a message posted on his Facebook page, "Loren passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family."

I saw that this morning when I woke up (SD is my home town). I LOVED him and his gardening tips on the news. I knew for sure he would beat that nasty cancer. So sad. What a lovely man.

On a nice note though, he died peacefully with his family - something we don't see on Websleuths.

Wouldnt the glass shatter on the passenger door window if it was shot from outside the car vs. the bullets exiting the victims and hitting the window from inside the car?

does that make any sense lol?

I'm not sure what it says about where the shots came from, but the passenger window was cracked/shattered (although the pieces never crumbled).

Here's a close-up from one of the news casts:

And from a totally *unrelated* case from another state, there's a photo at the link below that shows what a window looked like after being shot from the outside. Very similar. http://www.abcnews4.com/story/17297792/ncpd-investigating-incident-at-ashley-phosphate-citgo

Ok thanks I was just wondering if glass shattered differently if a bullet was exiting a victim. Like velocity I don't know maybe I watched to much CSI LOL

What was a bullet’s direction of travel? Was the gun fired inside the house or outside? Better yet, what was the speed of the bullet? Directionality can refute or support suspect alibis and witness statements and bullet speed can narrow the type of weapon used when the bullet itself is not available.

It has been known for many years the glass fracture patterns can reveal directionality but now there seems to be a method for determining the projectile’s speed. Very cool technology

So sad as he was always such a well loved man to the locals. RIP Loren...
