Do we know why they were out by the mall at 1:30 am?

This may not be a popular opinion, and maybe I am too cynical in my old age, but i still have my suspicions about this case. I am wondering if Gianni was following them cuz he thought his fiance was cheating on him with his brother. Wouldn't be the first time that this sort of betrayal played out in love triangles. What if he was spying on them and caught them kissing in the car, and he just snapped?

IMO It is one of the possibilities. But to be able to stay on the lam I would guess he would be getting help from someone.

LE says they don't believe he left Calif?

Have there been sightings possibly?

Id be looking in Utah where they moved from and where he has family .

IMO I don't believe he is deceased I think he running!
To me its a crime of passion!

It is possible she was calling 911 and was shot as she was doing so. By the sound of her call I don't think she was shot yet. It was probably edited and could it also be possible she said more.

I don't think that's possible that she was shot while on the phone. Both from hearing her call AND hearing all the dispatch part after that, as I've said, they did NOT sound like they were expecting to really find someone actually shot - let alone seriously.

And if she was calling 911 before being shot, why? And why say she was shot? If something was wrong that prompted her to call 911 before she was shot, wouldn't they have tried to get away in the car (which, incidentally it says in the article that they were sitting and talking - again, another thing that contradicts earlier reports)

While they may have heard more that wasn't on the call I heard, then it wasn't relayed to dispatch OR to officers or ABLE either. And frankly I don't see a chance in the world that would have been the case - if, for nothing else other than officer safety.

This surprises me as the house only has two bedrooms (I looked up the real estate info after they showed the house on one of the news reports).

One of the neighbours spoke about having beer with the brothers in their garage the week prior. Is it possible one or both of them were "living" in the garage? Does anyone do that in SoCal? Could never do that where I live... brrrr.

Yup. The house size is one thing I definitely thought of as contradicting this article.

Very rare to live in a garage here. It's entirely too cold here as well. Although, yes, it's not cold like much of the rest of the country, our homes are NOT built the same and the cold is very different. Without redoing the garage and making it more like an actual properly functional living space, I can't see that. Plus I'd guess that would be in the real estate stuff b/c it would be zoned differently.

Quote:
A 75-year-old uncle of the men told a television station in Utah, where the family is from, that Salvatore was picking up Flint from the mall and that Gianni was there in another car.

Detectives have confirmed that Flint was being picked up by Salvatore but have not corroborated information that Gianni was also there, Hastings said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If Gianni was there in another car then WHY would she be picked up by Salvatore?

Yup.

None of this makes sense as it is, let alone with all the information that now seems to be a virtual 180 from where it all began...

BBM - Maybe she went to the mall/Macy's with Gianni, they got in a fight, and then she called Sal to pick her up? I don't know -- very strange.

Very strange! The situation and the article!

I still think something is way off with this article and a good portion of the information.

Obviously I can't watch all the stations at once, but thus far nothing from THEM on anything remotely along these lines.

I think possibily the parents OWN but don't live with the boys!

Which could be true, but for this:

"All three lived with the brothers’ parents."

http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/...nni-belvedere/

I think the far more likely thing is, as you said, the parents own the place only.

But then that means the sentence above in the article is NOT true (which I also believe to be the case)

And if the latter is correct, it makes me question even more the things that already seem off about the details in this most recent UT article.

Also, interestingly, two deaths early this morning, both in residences, both under investigation. One VERY near (very, very, very) where the body was found on the trail yesterday. And as soon as the call on that one came in and the dispatch had people going out (it wasn't technically a death yet) and made sure the sergeant was aware, when he heard details, he immediately asked to switch off the feed.

I feel like the next few days may be significant, even if just in terms of finding out the real scoop given this odd article and all the discrepancies (and if it's all true - then a whole batch of information no one else has either...)

One of the articles mentioned that she told dispatch she was shot in the head. Was this not the case?

Is it normal for this type of stuff to NOT be on the news here? I have seen nothing regarding any of these bodies lately. Granted I haven't scoured the internet, but I do watch the local news in the morning and evening and haven't seen a thing. If it is not normal, then perhaps we are on to something.

Also was all of the undercover talk you mentioned possibly related to the sex trafficking bust from yesterday?

I don't believe so!

Nope. Just that she had been shot.

I always knew there definitely was stuff that wasn't on the news, since, obviously it can't all be. But until I started really listening to the scanner I had no idea how little actually does. Or how many people hear or see things happening and go looking to find out what it was only to find out it's as if it didn't exist or happen.

The bodies both were actually in the news, or, at least, online on their sites. I didn't see them mentioned on any broadcasts, but I suppose they could have been buried and I just didn't hear it in my channel hopping or by the time I get tired of the non-news news!

I channel hop and watch the beginnings of the broadcasts typically just to see what they each cover the first 10 or so minutes, but sometimes not even that long anymore, because even then, half of what they put on their twitter sites or on their websites doesn't get mentioned either (which I think is even more weird!) I've realized how very much of what they cover is what they can have a "good" background for - attention getting in some way, really.

And I'm a huge sports fanatic and a major Chargers fan, so don't get me wrong, but when one station spends the first five minutes talking about the potential of a Velvetta Cheese shortage, well...no wonder nothing that's "real" news gets on the news!

We had a missing autistic teen, not very verbal, and functioning as an 8 year old. How many stations EVER mentioned it (in print or on air?) One of six. But the Velvetta thing was on three one night.

As far as what I heard yesterday, most of it definitely was not sting related. I'd have actually loved to have heard that! One instance may have somehow tied in to something along those lines, but I suspect if anything, it was probably actually related to one of the (handful or more most nights) armed robberies that we've had so incredibly many of.

I'm definitely curious to see what happens!

And I'm very curious to see if Gianni gets mentioned now like I thought he would by all the stations given the incident this morning w/ the pursuit and shooting of one of the armed robbery guys that ended in Mt Hope a couple of hours ago. (Although at least that actually IS news!)

Am I correct in saying that Gianni is a suspect in the killing of his gf and shooting of his brother.
If this is the case I don't get people. JMO

Traveling Bug,

I am a huge Charger fan as I grew up in Coronado. I am now transplanted to Denver and am anxiously waiting for the game Sunday. Go Bolts!

Thanks! I had a feeling there was a ton of stuff happening that never made the news.

I totally know what you mean about how sensational our news has become. I was a journalism major at SDSU and interned at NBC 7/39. Although I am not working in my dream line of work, sometimes I wonder if that is a blessing in disguise due to how everything seems to lack journalistic integrity these days :(

One of these days I would love to have some free time at work to listen to the scanner, I think it would be pretty eye opening.

Well I don't believe it has been ruled out!

I just wonder if the family in San Diego is not saying very much because they do have doubts on whether Gianni was involved. It seems odd that we've been dependent on the uncle's statements from Utah. No doubt, it's an awkward situation for the family with Gianni still missing.

Also, you'd think if it's true, that if they were living at the same address with the parents or other family, someone would notice if there was a tense situation between the brothers developing.

Was Gianni really there and was he involved? Give me a clue!
What happened at the mall and why?
