It was nikb. The police did not do the presser and on a family member AB spoke very little. It was live streamed. A step forward and now to find motive and if anyone else was involved. I'm just thankful for today!

KGTV (10) showed it live.

The others were streaming it.

VERY brief. Like 2 minutes.

It was their sister, A.

She said detectives called at 9 am and asked to meet with them at the home. They arrived shortly after.

They were told there was an arrest (and that it was only one arrest) and that the family had mixed emotions and were just beginning to process it.

She asked for privacy for the family as they process everything, etc. and said it had really only just been a few hours.

She thanked the SDPD for all their great work, a few in particular, including Lt. Hastings (who is great) and Detective (ack, can't think of his name but he had been on quite a bit on the scanner lately...it'll come back to me!)

And that was it.

She was asked a few questions (clearly would have been asked more if she had stayed)

One being if the same person was in custody for all three - as in was Riverside totally a fluke or the same killer (same killer; one arrest)

Another asked if she knew the name. She said no, that she was sure "they" had a name, but she did not.

Again mentioned it had only been a few hours and they needed to process all of the information.

And then thanked everyone and left.

IMO the media were respectful of the fact that she clearly had no intentions of saying much, just wanted to release a statement of acknowledgement and thanks, ask for privacy, and that was it.

She was very poised, had the statement written out, and handled it very well.

Now to find out who this arrestee is, and WTH would he do something so horrid to these beautiful people. :banghead:

A few quotes from the sister, Antoinette.
"We ask that you please respect our privacy as we process this new information," said Antoinette. "Our families want to extend our deepest appreciation and thanks to the men and women of the San Diego Police Department."

Antoinette said the family feels "relief" at this point, but is still trying to process the news..

"We're holding up. You know, it's a sense of relief to get this information that somebody's been caught, and we just got the news, so we're still processing everything," she added.

OMG I'm so happy when I found out I couldn't stop crying! The first phone call I made was to SDHelps because we have been paying more attention to updating the Facebook and dealing with some difficult posters who were argumentative. I was driving when my media guy called me and I seriously pulled over almost causing accidents which would have happened regardless because I'm a terrible driver

I truly am so glad about the arrest. But frankly I was confused about the "press conference". Why there was no LE representation, and secondly no real information. The arrest happened early this morning. And eight hours later the family does not know the name of who was arrested? If my Brothers I would know his underwear size by then, if nothing else but to google it. Having it at the restaurant seemed more like a commercial than a "press conference".

I feel badly for being a pessimist but confused at the content of the PC in itself.
