Early on, before black box was used for info, LE said the gravel pulloff was 75 Ft. wide from road to cliff.

So, that could be measured from the northern entry point to the edge? There were no tracks observed, it was a confusing scene. The vehicle was stopped and then it accelerated, "pure acceleration" all the way, or something like that. Pinned to 90 but that doesn't mean car traveling at 90mph at all.

I'm driving along on Google and it looks like there is a more southern, smaller pull-off. It looks like you could sit there in your vehicle, maybe listen to some music, have a conversation, and see that fatal cliff. Maybe even decide from there to back up, reallign, hit the gas and go for it.

Again, please use caution before making any kinds of assumptions about the lives of these kids prior to adoption. Right now, it is only the mothers' narrative that they were seriously neglected and developmentally impaired.

With the news that broke yesterday, it's been learned that the kids were withdrawn from school the day after Sarah completed her probation, meaning they had been enrolled in school for just about 2 1/2 years in Minnesota. Markis would have attended Discovery Middle School and the younger children would have gone to Woodland Elementary School. This is a good school district.

One would expect that if these kids were as disadvantaged as the mothers claim, the kids would have qualified for special services and had IEPs or 405 plans.

I'm waiting to see if any chatter comes out on the web or through the news about these kids when they actually did attend school.

https://www.greatschools.org/minnesota/alexandria/496-Woodland-Elementary-School/

I found this mention of the kids by their former principal.

Two and a half years after enrolling, the children left public schools. Markis was a seventh-grader at Discovery Middle School, and the other five children, who ranged from kindergarten to third grade, attended Woodland Elementary.

Scott Heckert, the principal of Woodland at the time, recalled the Harts as an insular family whose children — despite being amiable and outgoing among their peers — rarely spent time with others outside the classroom.

For some reason I'm apparently the only person who actually totally thinks that pic looks like Jen lol. Like I maybe would have recognized her. I mean, maybe, as much as I pay attention idk but maybe it's because she looks a lot like someone I know? Idk

I haven't seen the photos to which you refer, but an earlier post on here (maybe in the first thread?) was pointed out for a boy in orange pants with thin arms. I looked closer and in the same picture Markis' lower arms and wrists were fatless enough for an anatomy lesson, and Sierra's arms didn't look much better.

Yes, the less clothes they're wearing the more obvious the skin and bones. The only ones with fleshy bits are the "moms". MOO

I definitely agree their limbs look almost skeletal in a couple photos I've seen, what confuses me I guess is why post photos of the kids that obviously show their body composition if a) she/they know they are depriving the kids and this IS why they are so skinny and b) you have a history with CPS ---- why would anyone risk that? The images I've seen where body composition was most obvious were on what was up until a few days ago a public instagram page, and still public youtube.

LE identified the woman in the picture as being Jen, not Sarah. Right?
I believe the one with glasses is one of the Hart women at a individual check out counter where you scan, bag and pay with no cashier.

I think it looks like her too, I thought so immediately seeing the photo. No one looks "put together" on a random surveillance video picture. Social media has made it harder for people to notice people of interest in general I think. Our brains get primed with all these planned, posed, editied photos people take of themselves and/or others. I for one know my FB profile pic is remarkably different than how I look day to day.

I think moo maybe Jen over the years put on weight? It looks to me like a heavier version of Jen. I think besides the weight gain it looks like Jen.

I think it looks like her too. I think it looks like an unflattering photo but it still looks like her.

I agree. I was wondering about the responsibility and capability of homeschooling all of the children and if they had individualized education plans. There would need to be some accountability and differentiated learning. That wouldn't have been an easy task to accomplish if that were the case.

according to her LinkedIn, Sarah had a degree in education... maybe that’s what helped them qualify as adoptive parents.

If I'm wearing makeup and know I'm taking photos I look 100% different then if I'm just plain Jane. Heck I still have my 90s eyebrows without makeup. Lol. I look very different.

It could've also helped her with pulling the kids out of school and homeschooling them.

Quicksand' video features 'reluctant' Hart family
attachment.php

Singer Jenni Price of the band Acoustic Minds wrote the song "Quicksand" which was inspired by Devonte Hart and the famous photo from 2014 where he hugged a Portland police officer during a protest.

Eta: the family is featured in this music video, beginning around 1:30. There is such sadness knowing their fate, and hoping against hope.

Wow. I know what you mean. I feel the same way about Jackson Five songs, knowing what I know now. It’s hard to enjoy the music the way I used to when I was a kid. All I can imagine is the Jackson kids being abused until they got it right.

That can also be something diffused alarm when reviewing complaints of abuse or behavior.

That can also be something to reduce alarm when reviewing complaints of child abuse or suspect behavior. When someone is viewed as an expert or educated person in that area, people trust their word much more quickly.
