I've never seen CPS remove other children from a home where a child has been abducted. Anyone?

Even immediately remove a child from a family that has had a child abducted?

IMHO when the younger child was removed it was not because Hassani was believed to have been abducted but it was something else they found that we don't know about.

I haven't heard of this, either. They must know something that we don't know.

With all due respect, believe09: what money? It just doesn't seem as if they would have had enough to support this lifestyle (house, beemer, children--one disabled) on her salary. No matter how frugal they were. I could be wrong, of course. If this wasn't just a family arrangement to have the kids, maybe they were getting funds from gov't agencies.

California has a "Kinship Care" program, where financial assistance is available for people who foster children who are related to them.

"A relative who is caring for a child who is eligible for federal foster care receives a foster care payment each month. This payment is currently about $425 to $597 per month, depending on the age of the child.

A relative who is caring for a child who is not eligible for federal foster care receives a welfare payment for the child. This payment currently is at a maximum of $387 per month per child and adjusted based on numerous factors."

http://www.dss.cahwnet.gov/cfsweb/PG1351.htm

Consider the foster care payments of avg. $450.00 a month for each child, plus as much as $650.00 or more a month in SSI for Hassani's disability, plus slightly above min wage for JC bringing in appx $1600.00 a month and LR's income (computer tech is it?) I think they would probably bring in over 70 grand a year, easy.

my edit: my mistake...LR is a computer programmer...in that case they probably bring in well over 100 grand a year.

Yes, I can imagine the traffic at that hour of the day and also the risk somebody would take being double parked. Traffic cops are usually around waiting for any infraction!!

Another thing I've been thinking about if LR isn't involved in Hassani's disappearance would be the bio-dad and I can't recall when the last time he would've seen Hassani, or have known the routine, etc. Just a thought but I've read somewhere that there was some sort of family get together a few days before? MOO

Oh, and I'd also like to see another photo of Hassani in something other than the graduation cap & gown!

Bio dad Ronald M. Hughes is incarcerated in an undisclosed location for sexual battery.

This may have been posted. I'm heading back to catch up. The name of the salvage yard was Pick Your Part IIRC.

http://www.pickyourpart.com/

I didn't see that they had any policy about children under 16 the way other salvage yards did (was stated on their website).

ETA: Called 800 number and operator said have to be 16 to be allowed on lot. I did not ask about a specific location, just PickYourPart lots in general.

Or it could be that local people are not supporting them because they don't believe in them. :waitasec:

Only a few turned up for the vigil, which supports the foster parents. Does anyone know how many showed up for the search, which would support Hassani?

bold by me

I think this really stinks cos to me these vigils are really meant to show support (& pray for the safe return) of the missing child more then it is for the family members..To help make my point I seriously doubt most of the ppl at the many Caylee vigils gave a crap about any of the As!

I'm still getting caught up in this case, but I grew up in the Rockridge area of Oakland and know it very well. If you have any questions about the area, please send them my way :)

I would agree except if it were something illegal, why hasn't either LR or JC been arrested for that? On the other hand, I wonder if just his story about leaving Hassani alone in the alley would be cause for them to remove the other child? The house they live in seems like it's in good condition, except for the popped window screen in an upstairs bedroom, but it could also be like a pig sty inside. I'm curious too, though, what the reason is. MOO

Thanks ~ I didn't realize he was still in prison. I'll rule him out then!

Have a good snooze - do you think that bio mom still had access to the children or maybe Hasanni was left with her and something happened and we are into a cover up? Just wondering.......

I think that at the very least bio mom had access to the kids, with the knowledge of the fosters. I don't know if they were leaving the kids with her, or just allowing her to see them, but I do feel as if one or the other was going on.

There's something that isn't adding up about bio mom, but I can't put my finger on it. I feel like I am overlooking something huge in regards to her. I just don't know what it is yet.

And a medical assistant would make how much? It seems not as much as he could make as a computer programmer ~ that is, if he were employed full time as one. MOO

Now I'm wondering if Hassani could have got out of car at salvage yard. Since there is confusion about whether Ross got out of car or not, I wonder if these places have security cameras.

I am still wondering if LE has any evidence to place Hasanni in that alley the afternoon he supposedly went missing. Has anything turned up to support Ross' claim that Hasanni was there?

Maybe it is as simple as foster dad proved to be negligent when he left the child unattended.. Even if he never went missing & CPS learned of his actions they probably would still have a strong case against him imo

I asked about this in the first thread, and a few posters responded that they thought it would be SOP, because he was in foster care. Sorry, don't have links to the posts (searching WS is not one of my best skills).

I am most disturbed that CPS said Hassani and his sister won't be going back to the home.

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/east_bay&id=6971039

On Tuesday morning, the police and the child's family are doing their part in hopes to spur in more tips. The family plans to walk the streets in Rockrigde, where the Hasanni was last seen, and pass flyers.

....

Police has taken a lot of interest of going back to the foster parent's story and they had gone back to the scrap yard where Louis said he had taken the boy before he was reported missing earlier that day.
The foster family is doing what they can to dispel any perception that they know more about this case.

I keep wondering if the two children have the same daddy - I too feel like we are missing something and it is probably staring us in the face - but what? Also been wondering how long JMC and LWR have been together... they would have had to been together for a period of time to have the two children placed with them I am thinking but am not sure how CPS works in California.

It's SOP, when there is a suspicion that a child has been harmed, even through neglect, as the story says, that ALL other kids, bios and foster, be removed pending investigation.

How do we know he is incarcerated? Everything that I have seen simply says that he has an undisclosed address, which they do with some SO's that have been threatened by the public.
