This is a video of LR talking with Nancy Grace earlier in the investigation...in it he tells of the ROUTINE of dropping off the kids:

YouTube - Disabled Boy, 5, Vanishes; Stepfather Under Scrutiny

...this was a 4-5 month routine
...I have class from 6-9:30pm
...9:30-10 get home from class

So, this ROUTINE started in approx APRIL/MAY??(these comments were made at the end of AUG)

"We know for a fact that Hasanni Campbell never made it to Oakland Aug. 10th at as was previously reported." Oakland Poilce spokesman Jeff Thomason said.

How long Hasanni would have had to have been in the driveway for the dogs to have picked up a scent? I thought I'd read "2 minutes" but really don't know that for sure.

They picked up his scent in the car but not leading out of the driveway.

If "2 minutes" is accurate, then somebody moved pretty fast to get Hasanni out of there. Carrying him would not be hard; he was small.

I'm thinking they must have more than this to be sure he was never there.

Re the WalMart video -- the picture in the cart with Hasanni in the striped shirt (?) does not look like what he was wearing while walking, to me at least. I'll go back and watch the video again.

Re how many employees work at Shuz. I'm not sure how it was determined that they employed "2" employees but that could be full-time? And they have part-time employees to fill in the gaps.

I say this because I was manager of a small clothing store, and we were required by the owners to always have at least two employees working at one of our stores (safety issue since jewelry store in strip mall had been robbed in middle of day). It made more sense financially for them to have part-time help filling in the hours rather than 2 full-time.

They haven't released that 911 call, have they? Hmmmm

I wonder if anyone came forward saying they'd seen/heard him calling 911.

Not that I'm doubting the call was made. I just wonder what his actions were (was he pacing, looking around, searching, calling Hasanni's name).

From what I've read about that area at that time of day, there was a lot of pedestrian traffic and car traffic.

While someone in a car might not know what the man on the phone was doing, someone walking would most likely overhear a distressed 911 call. Unless he was talking softly.

I sure would like to hear that call too.

One more and I'm done for a bit.

~snipped from link in Paintr #218 post~

Social services records show Ross and Campbell were very caring and attentive foster parents. Both were run through criminal background checks and child abuse instance searches and came up clean, The Chronicle's Matier and Ross report.

I can't remember now what name the DV charges were against LR (did it include the III and was he convicted?) ... I would think a domestic violence conviction would raise a red flag.

Maybe nobody has requested the release of the 911 call.

I posted a link with information about about Shuz a couple threads back...I'm sure they have part-time employees since that's what so many small companies do. The info didn't mention anything about part-time. The reviews are excellent and go on and on about the great customer service. Guess Jennifer can't be all that bad!

Regarding the driveway - wasn't there an attached garage that could be entered from the house?

I can't recall who, but I remember reading that he was looking up and down the street while on the phone. I hope this was the case - otherwise, it would be very odd.

I need to know if everyone wants me to open a Current Daily News Thread....If no one feels there is a need for it please let me know? TIA

Hi, Angel. Sorry for not answering you sooner.

I think you should do what you like, since you do most of the work. If it gets annoying keeping up both those daily threads and the media thread, feel free to do what is easiest on you.

But I also think these daily threads are useful for people when they have at least a vague idea of when a certain news story broke.

Thank you for all your hard work. You and Paintr and a few others around here are our news gurus, and it's great knowing we can rely on you to keep us informed.

Well, I finally found you guys again. I was hanging out in Where's Hasanni and wondered where all the posters went lol.

I have one quick question though. Does anyone else find that this statement seems to contradict itself? "This case is an on-going investigation; we will continue to follow up on leads,” he said. “We strongly believe and know for a fact that Hasanni Campbell never made it to Oakland on August 10th.

I'm still up in the air on so much. And as to the Walmart video, I think it appears like Hasanni does have some difficulty walking--just a rather awkward gait no doubt due to the shoe inserts for forming an arch. He has on a spiderman cap--probably doesn't need it for warmth--he's a child that's crazy about spiderman--just like his braces have spiderman.

I'm also thinking that none of LR's past showed up because those were all civil judgements, not criminal. They said his criminal background was clean.

Another also--LOL (I had to read for 2 hrs to catch up!) My d-i-l just finished her medical assistant training and even though you may change your classes every three months or so, you still tend to be in the next group of classes with the same group of people. So it is entirely possible LR could have made friends that end up being in the next semester's set of classes with him if they all have the same major.

Whew, I'm done for a bit lol.

I'm surprised no media has requested the 911 call. They can do that, right? Although, I'm sure it's just going to be LR doing some good acting

I really think they must have a witness who saw LR driving or pulling into the lot and saw that Hasanni wasn't in the car. IIRC, the windows weren't tinted (or not that much) it would've been easy to see in.

Ditto. I must've missed your post!

The nice thing about a daily news thread and same with the media links one is to go to for reference.

Hi Doobiedoo! I noticed your post on the other thread about everyone disappearing, but I thought you meant it metaphorically! Sorry.

However, you do remind me to remind everyone: There are several specific threads for close discussion of important aspects of the case, especially on theorizing where the search for Hasanni might go next. These are valuable threads, and a lot of detailed work can be done in such specific, topical threads.

And the search is extremely important right now. I am sure there are ways to send suggestions to the volunteer search parties if people have solid hunches. Or they might read them here themselves! This is an area where brains are seriously needed.

I guess LWR found out that it's not against the law for LE to tell fibs in order to get the truth out of a suspect. >smirks<

He and now Jennifer seem to be indignant and are expressing that indignation quite loudly. How about~ it doesn't matter what I have to go through, it doesn't matter what is done to me ~ just clear me and find my child attitude?

LE made that statement that they "know for a fact" that Hasanni wasn't in Oakland as reported by Foster parents.

Now, LWR that is something they aren't going to trick you about. When LE makes a public statement saying that they have proof that you lied, and that they are just waiting for more evidence in order to re-arrest you? Your days really are numbered dude.

Makes me ill to read about this arrogant self-serving man and his fiance. Me Me Me are the only song they know how to sing. Puleese. What about a five year old little boy?

Sorry rant off now.

I went back and looked and his windows were not tinted at all. With it being a low car, people dining at the restaurant, walking or driving by could've easily seen into his car. I'm thinkin this may be what LE has in order to say they know for sure Hasanni wasn't there . . . .

I did come across this pic and have a question -- Is that a little walkway at the back of the lot between the buildings? If it goes all the way through, we haven't discussed that as a possible "kidnappers route"

I still think LE knows what they're talking about saying LR & JC are the prime suspects in Hasanni's murder, though. Just a thought . . . .

Hey locals...

Could any of you please tell me about the "580" between Hayward and Oakland as an alternate around using the Nimitz? I'd like to know how traveled this road is and if the traffic is a nightmare around 4 pm on some idle Monday.

When my nonprofit implemented background checks for our employees and vols., I helped create our policy with the help of our attorneys on the board. Boy was that fun (NOT) -- it took about 6 months!

I posted earlier that if it's an FBI background check, they would only find cases where the person was actually fingerprinted (arrested and booked). This search costs ~$35. The general consensus is that if a person was not arrested (and fingerprinted) then it is for a low-level charge. This is the option my org. went with and then we had to develop a policy on what was allowed and what was not (i.e., mis. vs. felony, type of charge, how long ago, etc.).

Another option is to do a complete SSN check (credit report) and then do a full criminal background check for all the states listed as an address on the SSN report. IIRC, that kind cost ~$150 or more.

Or, you can do the very cheap report and do a criminal background check yourself for your own county. It's very sad that an agency I worked with that was a temporary shelter for abused and abandoned children, only checked their county for a regular volunteer. He lived in the next county over (which they knew) and had served prison time for rape, but they never checked that county.

Re: the child abuse reports, if it's the same as in FL, this would refer to any abuse reports on the state hot line (in FL, this also includes elder abuse). My organization opted not to look at this, because anyone can file an abuse report for any reason, and it's not any evidence of guilt.

This case definitely has me re-thinking the policy we developed. Any crimes against people were a huge no-no, but we didn't have anything in there about crimes against animals...

I just think it is more than a "lack of sighting,by some passserby
or restraunt patron" that causes LE to report 'Little Man was never in Oakland
that day.

It is a much bigger statment than that. a passerby or patron to any of the
businesses could not be used to say he was never in Oakland. I think
they have LR on video just coming into city with only 1 child.

i.e. store video, gas station, highway cam somewhere, he probably didn't have time to eat what with banking, junk-yards, orientaion soon, and disposal of a body, did he run through a Mickie D's, or grab a Hot-Pocket and a coke @ a convienence store?

Here's an aerial view of the neighborhood and it does look like there is a walkway from the small parking area behind Shuz to a larger parking area for the apartments but there may be a gate or fence there. Can't exactly tell from just looking at the map.
