Side note: Does anyone know if you can insert a table in a comments on WS? I'm trying to think of the best way to keep track of the conflicting statements about phones/laptops, texts, etc.

I'm so confused. So the dog was found but no one knew until the next day when JW sent the friend to HP's house to check for her and she took HP's phone back to JW and he saw texts? Was it the next day or a few days later when she failed to pick her son up? Are her electronics missing or were they at the house when her friend went to check? She only grabbed HP personal cell? Did anyone make a timeline? Even though at this point does anyone know what is actually accurate?

What was Sugarman doing? Heidi hadn't shown up for work or answered his calls. So he does a doorbell ring and muffin drop? God this case is bizarre o_O

Hey, I left muffins at your door. Now may I have my laptop back?

Why would JS take muffins to her house if he knew she was missing? Do we know what day he was there? MOO

Is it confirmed that he knew she was missing at that point? Then it sounds like he wanted to check something there but it would have been weird to just ring and walk away hence the guise of muffin delivery

I wonder why LE released the muffin video.

Exactly what he is trying to impress upon everyone -- misdirection.

[imho, of course]

I am director of a dog rescue. What is a "retrofitted chip"? Chips are injected under a dog's skin at some point by the owner or the rescue. Not sure what they mean when they say "retrofitted", or why they say it at all.

Bizarre, he didn't even wait to give her a chance to open the door. Wonder what else that ring camera has on it? LE released this for a reason, imo.
What date was the muffin drop?

Jim said he took “one of Heidi’s phones” and found a message about her dog after reporting that his ex was missing.Credit: Facebook

Jim said he took “one of her phones” after reporting that Heidi was missing and found a message about her dog.

He told The Sun: “I got Heidi’s electronics on October 21st. I probably started looking into them on October 25th.”

Jim added: “I found the chip number and started tracking it all the time. They told me that the dog was finally found in the central data location.

“Okay, that means they’re going to call Heidi’s phone or send a text message,” I said.

“I happened to have her phone. After making a police report, I went into her house and took some of her electronics with her unnumbered friends and family. Because I was able to talk.

“Then I found the text message,’Hey, are you lonely without a dog?’

New Heidi Planck clues revealed from odd text to her multiple phones and strange behavior when she was last seen - California News Times
The California News Times is NOT a legit news source, it is actually a blog that anyone can post articles/stories on. They are not located Cali but based in India and these are not reporters, they just let random people submit to this blog so this is def not to be considered a credible news source at all.

We have read somewhere else that the text just said something like "are you missing a dog" and I cannot remember where that was (could have also been from a source like The Sun which is incorrect a lot and tabloidy) but either way I don't believe for a second that someones texted saying "Hey, are you lonely without a dog?" or even "Are you missing a dog?" lol because obviously, they are. I think the first quote saying what the text said actually was from The Sun now that I am thinking about it and just read a couple of other articles from California news about her. They basically pull stories from The Sun and change it around/add random words so it totally gets lost in translation (missing = lonely) and doesn't make sense...this is more or less clickbait blog, not news.

I've been digging around I'm starting to think maybe ex just said the phone had messages (could have even been voicemail) and someone like The Sun just ran with it and reported what they figured it would say? Can anyone find any credible news source that actually says exactly what the text message said or that for sure it was even a text message??

The narrator on the news clip indicates the video was taken "a day or two after she went missing." (She was last seen 10/17, so this would have been Monday or Tuesday, after she hadn't shown up to work or responded to calls, I would assume. JMO, MOO)

Edited for clarity.

The way his car was parked blocking the sidewalk with door open and not fully in the driveway you can tell he wasn’t planning to stay long.

I'm not sure when the ex husband communicated with her office looking for her, I believe it was after she missed the Wednesday pick up of the son?

The muffin drop is new to me, and this may have been brought up before (apologies). Firstly, leaving knocking quickly and dropping baked goods gives off apology/get well soon vibes too me. Maybe there was an argument the week before? But, I’ve worked with men like JS before and I find it really hard to believe that he would think to do this on his own. It’s something I would tell my own husband or boss to do, and I find it unlikely that JS wouldn’t send an assistant to do it (he strikes me as the kind that probably has a personal assistant).
