Imo, JS showing up knocking at her door, indicates he really doesn't know where she is. If he did, he wouldn't be looking for her. Moo

It is but, to play devils advocate, maybe it was the people who found it and they are not native English speakers? Perhaps they wanted to say something along the lines of are you missing a dog and it got lost in translation. Do we know who the text is from?

side note and off topic because I don’t know where else to ask, why can I no longer view Cleo smith’s thread? TIA
That was not what the text said, that was from a fake news source that is actually a blog based in India. They translated an article and used lonely instead of missing...just lost in translation.

First, let me say that I hate it when my muffins drop -- but if I blame it on the oven, I get sympathy and not scorn.

And I also do not recall anything to indicate that she was 'fired.'

This is a perfect example of why it is so difficult to get any reliable info from the many "news" sources in this case. The narrator says the video was taken "a day or two after she went missing". Granted, in the big scheme of things, this may not amount to a hill of beans, but surely it is known what day the video was taken. We can't even get the most basic facts in this case, and probably, by the time this gets picked up by a few more "news" sources, we will know not only the day, but probably the flavor and what bakery they came from, (according to some unnamed source who will have allegedly seen him purchasing them). Never seen a case here quite as convoluted as this one. JMO
Just like they know what flipping time she left in the initial video, but for whatever reason aren't sharing that. To be honest, we'll probably know the bakery and flavor before we even know the date lol.

What I'm more interested in knowing is whether this was a normal thing for him to do. At one of my previous firms, they used to buy muffins on Fridays for the office and one Friday a month they'd buy pizza. Every month they did a birthday cake for the birthdays that month. They genuinely cared about their staff.

Maybe JS dropping off muffins wasn't uncommon. If it was Tuesday instead of Monday, maybe he was stopping by to see if things were okay. Just trying to think bigger picture for the moment.

Maybe it was less him looking for her and more trying to see if anyone else was there.

Bizarre, he didn't even wait to give her a chance to open the door. Wonder what else that ring camera has on it? LE released this for a reason, imo.
The reporter didn't say LE gave them the video. "We obtained this video footage outside Heidi's home in Palms, a day or two after she was last seen ...".
IMO the friends made a copy of the security feed before LE took it.

Who knows where they got it for sure, I think it was the friends, but someone wanted it out there for a reason.

I think there was a reason the muffin man was there other than concern for Heidi. MOO

BBM I agree with almost everything you are saying, but if he was stopping by to see if things were okay, seems he would have at least stayed long enough for someone to answer the door. He must have been a block down the street before the average person could have gotten off the sofa and walked to the door.

He didn't hang around long enough for her to come to the door, that's for sure. Alibi perhaps?

It's almost as if he knew she was not at home...

The only justification I had for this was that her car wasn't in the driveway and maybe he realized ringing the doorbell was kind of pointless? I actually kind of wondered about that too. I wonder if it was like a Ring doorbell that she would typically answer fairly quickly when home?

Back problems, under the influence? What was that?
He’s taking really short steps like you do when you’re unsteady and trying to be careful. Injury or inebriated comes to mind for me too.

I mean, the empty driveway would kind of indicate that, unless that's a garage door you can see on the Google street view and she would use that as opposed to always parking in the driveway.

I went back and watched it again. Definitely didn't wait around. Rang the doorbell, put the muffins down, and left. So even if she had answered a Ring doorbell, it wouldn't have mattered.

Edit: Look at the video, at 1:18, he reaches out and touches something. He steps up and at 1:21, he touches something again before he puts the muffins down and leave. You can see the box sticking out at 1:18, so did he also knock on the door?

They probably took it down since she’s a minor and found safe. I think that happens often.

eta. See @Gardenista’s post below. Her thread has moved and changed to perp’s name.

Why would he bring a treat to an employee he just found was embezzling? Makes no sense.
