My answers in blue:
Okay, sooo. I see what you're saying. However.
Why would JW ask D to go back and get HP's phone after he's already filed a missing person's report? If they wanted to find "clues" and they've already filed a report because HP is missing, then why would they not feel the urgency to check the phone when they went over there together?
In the beginning, it was reported that the phone missing was her personal phone, presumed to be on Heidi’s person.. So, maybe JW and D at first didn’t think (what they believed was) a work phone would be that helpful? JW has said he wanted to have the phone in order to call her friends and family.
And D did nothing with the phone after HP's son has asked her to go check on his mom?
If this is the case the sense of urgency is *lacking*
Perhaps a bit of disbelief that she could really be missing? Deciding to do a wait-a-bit-longer approach?

It's just very odd to me. It doesn't sit right.
Whole case is odd and unusual!

I'm wondering if HP had already been accused of embezzlement, threatened, and her job terminated when she was at the football game. If guilty that would certainly make a person fearful and and even if not guilty, a powerful person accusing you of a crime would be terrifying. HP has a lot to lose without that employment. MOO

Okay I just typed this out. I've now listened to that 2 and a half minutes probably 25 times. This whole mess of an interview is, IMO, very strange.

NG: Okay back to you JW. This is the father of Heidi's son B. Tell me about that cell phone.

JW: Her cellphone. The cell phone I went into her, uh, her house with D to look around... This is after the police report was - the missing person report was done. Uh, D and I went into her house. Uh, I saw that her phone was - was sitting there. D.. brought it to me... I think.. it was... the next day.. she.. because I was trying to get a hold of friends and family uh.. for Heidi.. So that's - That's how I came into possession of that. I also had to turn that over to the detectives at the uh.. LAPD.

NG: so Heidi, her cell - that'd where I got that. You did find her cell phone but not at the building, it was back at her home?

JW: At her home, yes.

NG: Okay, and, D, you were with J - you were with Jim when he found the cell phone?

D: Um I, uh, she actually had two phones.
She had a work phone and she had a personal phone.. um.. the one that was at the house I believe was the personal phone.. that, I, uh, ended up taking over to Jim, but I had gone to her house on.. prior... I think maybe Tuesday? Monday or Tuesday uh because B text me: my mom's not answering me, um, have you heard from her?
And I said, no, you know, she didn't respond to me yesterday.. which, I mean, was a little weird, but not responding for 24 hours, um, is normal for me not for.. her.. but he asked me to go the house and check, uh, because I have a key to the house.. um so I went over there.. and, uh, one of her phones was sitting on the kitchen counter.. Which is the one that I ended up taking over to Jim after the missing persons report was filed, uhm, because he wanted to see if they find any clues in it.

NG: So the personal phone is the one that you got from her home, correct?

D: I - mean - [I THINK]

JW: [Interrupts]
We don't - Nancy - sorry, Nancy it's J. We don't know if its the personal or the business, uh, the police detectives have told me that was her personal phone.. according to Apple.. That's all I know.

NG: Okay, was it on or cut off?

D It was on.

JW: Her phone was on, but the location services on the on her - on her phone, uh the laptop and her watch, were all shut off.

NG: When were they shut off?

[long pause]

JW: I'm sorry?

NG: When were they shut off? Location?

JW: We don't - we don't know. Another one of those mysteries. We don't know, and if the police do know they haven't shared that with me.
You are amazing. Cheers! We need a forensic linguist, right?
I can post another link for you where he elaborated the same details in a different fashion if you would like to compare or transpose. :) I’m so sure. o_O

But could they be turned off remotely by someone who has access to the account, not the person with the actual phone? Someone could've turned off the feature days before and HP was unaware. MOO

Very possible. Her ex was supposedly sent her bank statements by her boss. Friends with house keys. Ex husband with phone and computer passwords. Seems a lot of different people have access to a lot of her business.

I would say follow the money and you will find this woman. Or follow the hidden money surrounding her boss and company and you will find her…glaring red flags all over this (moo)

However -

Did anyone notice in the video with the muffin man that the trash is gone that Heidi herself walked past in the video of her leaving (which l found odd) it looked like a piece of mail was in the driveway that she just leaves and newspaper- and she just drives off.

I am asking this because when he showed up with his muffins there is no trash - so she could she could have gone home at some point before he dropped them off and picked them up herself before she went missing….

Also did the ex husband or friend find the muffins when they checked the house and the trash? And take them in or pick up the trash…

It would establish a better time-line..
I wouldn't find it unusual that the newspaper had blown away. In the video it was moving, so it likely blew away. That was Sunday, the news reporter in the video said JS dropped the muffins a day or two after Heidi was last seen (Monday or Tuesday). But I thought it was odd she didn't pick it up too.

In the NG video - D says she went to Heidi's house Monday, then repeats - Monday or Tuesday. She doesn't mention the muffins, so who knows?

He said he started calling numbers he didn’t have. It didn’t occur to him to check the other phone for messages for the dog until days later.

Her Ex also said in the NG interview she had an Apple watch, too, left in home. Phones and watch locators all turned off.
I’m thinking when she left home that Sunday, 10/17, she did so not wanting to be tracked or had been told by whoever she was going to meet to leave devices behind, maybe?
I think, too, that there might be a clue or two from her behavior at the Stadium.

In trying to make some kind of sense out of the conflicting reports, it is obvious HP did not want to be contacted or traced. If voluntary, it's cruel behavior when a child is involved. Can't stop thinking JW was likely the last person to see her.

She vanished without possession of a known phone. JW said telematics in her 2017 Range Rover were never set up so no one can track her vehicle either. Odd that she didn't find the need for navigation in and around the heavy traffic of LA.

What was the argument about with her current beau, NS, the week prior to her vanishing? If they've dated for 3-4 years, why would he assume she was ghosting him? Was their argument that serious? If he knew she was frightened, would he help her to hide?

JW sure likes to talk, doesn't he? How did he verify the female contacting him about his ex wife's boss, JS, was indeed a FED Prosecutor investigating the alleged theft of $43mm and asking about JS? Why would the Prosecutor wait until HP went missing to contact her ex JW about JS?

Also more importantly the connection to the building “Hope Flower” and Heidi. Once her friend said the dog was lost there again in 2020 a bell went off. It was built by the Omni Group big real estate development company.

I am wondering if Camden Capital Partners had ANY equity in this company? They do invest in real estate as per their website. Perhaps that’s a connection …

I will dig to see if l can find this out …

They could be turned off and on from any linked Apple device, from anywhere, logged in with Apple Id to Icloud.
If in fact she was wearing her watch, she could have disabled the phone/s, Ipads from afar.
What I think is important is that the last location before deactivating can be revealed. That might be helpful.

If she told her boyfriend that she was scared, surely he knows of what and of whom, right?

And then the Muffin Man went by days later to make an offering?

I wonder if anyone tried turning locations back on since they had her lap top and phone

I don't think she said the dog was lost there before just that she had picked up HP there once before. No mention of dog.. MOO

Yes knowing she wouldn't be there and he needs some positive publicity. MOO

Yes, I wondered, too. It’s not hard to figure out.
And it seems she didn’t have Face or Fingerprint unlock or 2 step authentication on, just the 6 digit pin to unlock.

Two houses, from my understanding. Somewhere deep in thread 1 there was discussion about the property records showing that the lot had been divided into two properties.

In this pic of the back of HP's house you can see they don't actually connect.

[JMO that lot is too small for that but whatcha gonna do]

This type arrangement is not unusual when available lots are limited, esp in trendy neighborhoods. This arrangement could provide the owner with a second income if renting the back house in order to offset mortgage payments. Has any evidence of that situ of a renter been found?

Also, are the taxes paid up to date or have any taxes been paid since 2019? Does HP have any other properties where she owes unpaid property taxes?

In my city, one year of unpaid property taxes, and your property is sold on the courthouse steps. There is no leniency; no hardship is considered. The city wants their income!

The streetview at the link shows the new and improved house though. It has a blue GottaGo rental in the front and a houseboat looking object parked in the driveway. A work truck is parked out front.

Hey all, I'm new here. Been a longtime follow of Websleuths but never commented. So here goes...
So her boss shows up at her door and leaves muffins. Did anyone else notice that he basically did a ring and dash. He rang the doorbell set the muffins down and then left. He didn't seem to wait to see if anyone would answer the door. It's almost as if he knew no one was going to.

Do we know that the RR is registered to HP? And what Model it is?
I’ve just started exploring the cool, built in automatic stolen vehicle tracking and SOS call button requiring no special activation on all Land Rovers since 2015.

I can’t even figure out how it would be fully deactivated except with a Signal Jammer under the car.

The built-in Stolen Vehicle feature can be deactivated inside the car for up to 72 hours if it is set to Servicing or Transport.

There are various links. Anybody a RR fan?
There are so many free cool extra features that require downloading an App and maybe 5 minutes to register.
