Ok. I searched the thread. I checked the rule out list on Namus. So here goes. If I did the first two things correctly, this hasn't been suggested. What about Diane Genice Dye? She is believed to have been a runaway and was spotted by a friend several years after her disappearance still in California. Diane is within the age range and perhaps the vast difference in the dates led this to be overlooked.

I added Diane to the Unofficial List of Women That Have Been Ruled Out on Andrea's FB page

It reminds of an incident that happened to me in 1998. I had just finished my junior year in high school and worked part-time at the local pool. As I was walking, an older women approached me and said she needed help. She was looking for her sister (who happened to have been a teacher at my high school but had resigned that spring and moved to AZ). She had traveled from NV and was obviously in distress. She freaked out when I told her that her sister had moved. I could tell that she had serious mental issues. She said she had no place to go, no relatives, people were out to kill her, etc. I ended up walking her to the local senior center. Supposedly her sister (the teacher) skipped town because she didn't want her sister to find her.
Anyways, maybe Andrea came out to CA to find relatives only to find out that they were not there and she was stranded?

Yeah, I've wondered about that. It seems plausible -- maybe she got to the trailer park and instead of her birth family, she found the guy who was nice to her and let her stay for a couple of days.

Why?

(not questioning your judgment, just curious)

I'm not speaking for Roselvr, and don't know what her basis is for the unofficial rule-out. But having seen the PM photo, I can say that Andrea doesn't look anything like Diane Dye. Their noses are very different.

Poor resemblance is probably not a good basis for a positive rule-out, but I can say with absolute certainty that Andrea is not Diane Dye.

Heh.
I suck at this. I thought they looked a lot alike. Maybe I should stick to my google fu and not try matching pics. *shrug*

I suck at matching photos too, so I try to contribute things that I am good at, like posting side by sides for other people, digging out maps, looking up newspaper articles, keeping ruleouts lists up to date when I can. It all needs to be done and everybody's POV is important.

Sorry; I added it because I'm trying to keep up on everyone that was mentioned. I didn't give an opinion. Andrea looks very Italian to me. I honestly feel that Andrea is not currently on any of the missing sites. I feel that we're going to find someone looking for a relative or friend on a site like Facebook or another message board that has people searches.

Some of us follow Caledonia Jane Doe; a gal posted on a people search FB page for her sister; they said she's a match to Cali (not IMO). So we wait for her 2 sisters DNA to get processed.

I haven't had a lot of time lately; didn't want to miss adding her to everyone we've discussed. I edited the note title & description

Unofficial List of Women That Have Been Suggested as a Match Or Compared To Andrea And/Or Ruled Out
The following missing have been suggested as possible matches for Andrea on Websleuths.

Forgive me if she has already been mentioned. I did check the unofficial rule out page, and didn't see her listed.

A few details are off (height and age of UID), however, the faces are so similar. MP hair is listed as blonde, but it also looks brown to me in her picture. Location of UID and MP are very close as well, about an hour and a half away from last seen.

Shaliegh Sharrie Phillips, missing since February 12, 1988 from El Cajon, CA. Endangered runaway.

(I wish I knew how to post a side by side picture, sorry!)

Have to run out- here is her NamUs page; DNA submitted tests complete

NamUs says Andrea was 20-24; Doe says 18 IIRC- IMO I think 15 would be too young.
*didn't have time to add her to the FB list

I think based on this physical characteristics : 2 different sized feet (would have to purchase 2 different sized shoes) that this would rule her out.

I bet the detective that worked on the case knows I wonder if he is still living? He might even have the ashes.

I just did a thread search and didn't see any reference to Fawn Abell... has she not been mentioned? i wish i could remember... she has a decent resemblance to me:

age fits, height is a bit off but she could have grown in the 5 years she was missing? her hair color is wrong, but hair color does change. maybe that's a stretch, but my father's went from platinum blond to bright read in his late teens...

What about Darci Warde, missing from Washington State?

http://www.wsp.wa.gov/crime/docs/mischild/Warde_Darci.pdf

She has a similar look. There is a bit of a discrepancy in the dates (Darci's "missing" date is April 24th 1990) but I wonder if there could be a reporting error and uncertainty?
