I emailed the possible match in. They emailed me back right away for some additional info. He thinks they do look somewhat alike. He asked about Johanna having DNA to compare Jane Doe's to and about Johanna's teeth.

This Jane Doe has crooked front teeth and is missing some back teeth.

I will let you know as soon as I hear something!

Does anyone have info on Olympia Rose Gonzales? Will keep looking.

Mrs. Fidelia Gonzales, an elderly Mexican-American
woman from Lima, N.M., has looked'for her daughter,
Olympia Rose, since she disappeared in 1949. She traced
the daughter to Long Beach in 1965, but despite an
extensive search, Olympia Rose, then 41, and who had
used many aliases, was never found. A relative said the
mother "wanted to see her daughter once again before she
died."

I received a very nice email regarding my potential match from Hal Brown, Deputy Director Delaware Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Forensic Sciences Laboratory.

"many thanks for your email and your hard work on these cases! It's people like you who make all the difference and my hat is off to you." "I think your sides by side comparisons are amazing." " we are working on your lead and will let you know the results."

The Chief Medical Examiner handling Johanna's case and the Homicide Detective in charge of Jane Doe's case are communicating and are comparing the DNA.

WTG! That was so nice of them to send such a encouraging email, makes it all worth it.

Jane Doe and Johanna DeHaas are NOT a match. The search continues. I really thought this might have been the one!

So sorry, but great try. Perhaps next one you find will be the one.

They finally uploaded a photo of Nadine Claire Timm to NamUs.

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/7694

If her face had filled out over the three-year interim, she might look a bit like this Jane Doe. And her height is right also.

However, she had given birth to six children, and that probably would have been noted of the UID.

She does look a bit like her. Jane Doe has brown eyes though...

Avis Beatrice Mooney was recently added to NamUs. Even though she is a bit older than the age estimates for this UID, she looks like her (IMO). Her height and weight are about the same as the UID.

I think they do look alike! I wonder about the age/dates... If Avis went missing in 1961 @ age 33 she would have been 40 in 1968 when this Jane Doe was found. Could they have been that far off on J.D.'s estimated age?

I also wonder about Avis's abdominal scar and birthmark... Would it have been noticed on a Jane Doe?

Their noses look quite a bit off IMO. The drawing appears to be of pretty good quality, so I would tend to trust its accuracy (more so than many recons that I have seen)

While asking about another OC case, I asked about the UID found in Huntington Beach and if she had given birth before (Avis had two children when she went missing). The woman in Huntington Beach's uterus did not show signs of previous pregnancy [per Allison O'Neal of the OC Coroner].

There is a Facebook page set up by the Huntington Beach Police containing photos related to this case. See the last 9 photos that were posted in 2011 showing old black & white photos and then 2 photos of a purse.

I wonder if the two photos of the man and woman, which look like high school or college yearbook photos, can be traced somehow. I know Classmates.com publishes some digital versions of yearbooks from all over the U.S.

Here's a link to the HBPD Facebook Notes page showing the actual case:

I thought they said she had a child? I wonder if any of the info in the quote below is true then?

When the woman was discovered, police immediately began the investigation, and were able to trace "Jane Doe" to a tavern where she served as a barmaid in Long Beach, Calif. Reinhart explained that although she didn't have many close friends, those who knew who her offered that she had not been in the area long (less than one year,) and that she was from New York and had a New York accent. Some of those who knew her also stated that she left a husband and a 2-year-old son behind.

Reinhart also mentioned that some knew her as Rosie, but that the name could have been an alias or a nickname.

Owego H.S. has yearbooks for the time period in question. I tried looking and came up with several possibles...but quite a few girls seemed to have this type of look. One of the girls that I thought looked reasonably close transferred in from out of state her senior year. She wasn't the one I thought looked the closest, but a scenario like that would make sense...someone in town long enough to buy shoes, but maybe not someone who had permanent roots there.
