GUILTY CA - Israel Ledesma-Moreno for kidnap of 3yo boy, San Bernardino, 2009

Thanks Scandi! I'm so happy you cooked for him :)

He echos what many of us here are thinking as well. I am thinking the same as you too, LE knows what's going on they just aren't saying right now for the safety of the child.

Hopefully, whoever owes the debt pays quickly so that Briant can come home safe and sound because we are getting on into the second week. Not good.

O/T, I just saw a commercial on CBS for his return, it was accredited to CBScares. Is this Dave L, late night show? There was no reward that I could see standing out. Has anyone seen a commercial like this? Glad they are putting his picture out there just wonder if they could post the reward larger.
I haven't seen a commercial, but last night they did run his missing flyer during the "Wilthout a Trace" show.

So this Mexican guy I know, I had him over tonight for dinner and some convo. He is an American but born in a field down on the border of Mexico/Texas so he is really Mexican in spirit and having none of the advantages of one born here, speaking perfect English with no accent. He hangs on the streets to get day jobs and knows all of the illegal aliens from across the border, who follow the pipeline up the West Coast to a better life here in America.

I had shown him the photos of these two men in Home Depot. Tonight I asked him, don't you think it is unusual for 2 guys who look like this to enter a home without welcome, ravage it for 20 min and then not tape up the baby but everyone else and end up taking him when they leave?

I said look. this guy is spiffed, in leather pants, knee high boots. He doesn't look like a hoodlum! The other guy has on a fatigue coat and jeans. And then, what does this tell you about the crime, and what really happened there that day....

He said he thinks they got paid by the cartel to do the job. Sent up to finish some business and it's all about drugs. They searched for 20 min and didn't find what they wanted. They immediately taped up the family except the vulnerable one, the child, so if they couldn't find what they were after, they would have leverage to make someone cough it up. All well planned.

He said what they were wearing tells him they had plenty of money, and they dress like major cartel dealers, all fancy, down to the boots and fatigues being right in style with these semi-affluent Mexican hoods. They always have style about themselves even though they are the lowest of their breed.

He said that is the way they play, they are not stupid. And that the dad of the little boy, or whoever wronged them will have a connection to these people and will know how to get in touch with them to get his little boy back after paying the debt.

He said the mother probably has no idea what has gone on with 'owing' someone. The father or one of the elder sons or maybe a relative, whoever is connected to these guys, would never tell the mother what is going on. It isn't how they do things.

I made him Swedish pancakes and sausage and it was well worth the effort. I learned that there is most likely a LIVE connection previously established between the cartell and someone in the family or close to them.

And one more thing. I said, do you think this little boy is still alive. He said he thinks they will hold the little guy somewhere until they get what they are owed. The threat to kill the boy in Mexico was only made to scare the one who has done a dirty deal with whoever, and get back what they are owed.

He said they are close by. Even if over the border. They are smart, and if they are going to do a job, they will do it the right way. That is what they get paid so highly for. If the person who owes them doesn't contact them and make good with his debt, give it a couple of weeks and then they would kill the child. They are cruel people and #1 want what they are owed, but this is their business, and will hurt the person with what means the most to them - their Achilles heel, so to speak, never to see their little boy again.

He also said if the father sat there in the yard, head in his hands in grief, he knew he had screwed up. That told him allot. It was interesting how my friend kept going back to the father. The father. He said in Mexican families it is the father, always the father who is in the know and knows the in's and out's of everything going on.

And I think LE has it pegged down to the gnat's eye. I just hope they aren't down across the border.

PS: This is a subjective post, only written to help see this case from another perspective. What I learned did give light to what might possibly be the case about what happened and why, and how it could possibly be resolved. xoxoxox

Thank you....wanted to bump this back up for those who hadn't read it. Some people really go above the call of duty. I say thanks a million and 1 times.

I really don't think they headed for Mexico. Too obvious. They wouldnt have told the Mother because that would have been the first thing she told police and that's the first place LE would be headed to look for little Briant. When this all went down I said I lived on Pedley Rd but about 18 miles from where it happened. It is a rural area. More horses than cars, confused roosters 🤬🤬🤬🤬 a doddle-dooing at 2 am instead of 5 am The sheriff is always looking for my neighbors son next door for drugs, neighbors that moved across the street were always dealing and I had guys knocking on my door at all hours..OOPS, wrong house, IDIOTS! Anyway, if anyone was going to hide out it would be in a neighborhood like this. Small narrow streets with 4-5 cars in peoples backyards, rundown barns in alleyways, etc. I know it's like a needle in a haystack but I've been driving down every small street, looking in every back yard looking for that green Explorer. Wishful thinking, I know..But my way of doing something..

Hi Kat, Waking up this morning, I am hoping they still have whatever it is these guys want, and if it is gone, they can raise the money owed to these guys so little Briant will be returned.

If this is the case, I would hope whoever has the connection to these guys would fess up to LE, and maybe the government could assist in arranging payment to these guys or taking drugs out of their LE storage to replace what is gone {if it is}. I did undercover work for the Oregon State Police for a year and know these agencies store all the drugs they recover in a safe place. Then every so often they do a major cleanout and destroy them.

I know America doesn't negotiate with terrorists, which I think this is a form of, and would set a precedent that might cause more abductions in the future.

I don't know. I just want this little Briant back home. His life is priceless like every little child and he deserves to live. xox

I agree with you Dolly, don't think they're in Baja.

Saturday while on the freeway from my Riverside to Corona my daughter and I saw Briant's poster, was glad to see it. So many older Ford Explorers out here ~sigh!

Thanks Dolly for that post as it really gave a picture of the area. I could easily imagine them holed up in some place in SB County.

I wish we had someone here who speaks Spanish and could read the comments in local articles or Spanish speaking blogs. It would be interesting to get their thoughts. xox

The problem is, aside from Alaska San Bernardino County covers the largest land area of any County in the US.

I had no idea it was such a huge area. Tom'sGirl, do you think LE knows who these guys are by now? It's been almost a week since the video snaps were released.

Off to work , but see you guys tonight xox

I just wanted to add that I've been out shopping and yesterday noticed 4 signs out in Redlands, CA which is a city that borders San Bernardino. It was posted at all the stores front entrances. Toys R Us, Quadoba (a food place), Target and Babies R Us. I imagine that someone has hit all these stores up and put flyers. :)

Just bumping up for little Briant. Stay strong where ever you are.

Thanks Tom'sGirl, That article had a jewel of a clue, that these guys spoke only Spanish in that house the whole time they were in there.

Maybe that is why LE thinks they came from over the border to do this job - collect what was owed to them. The Mom's comments about 'owing' mean so much IMO. xox

My husband's from Mexico and his brother and sister have lived in the US for 20 years and don't speak a lick of English. There are lots of communities filled with people who speak no English.
Based on my experience that wouldn't indicate they came over to do the job,but it also doesn't mean they didn't leave the country to avoid getting caught.

Hi CHICANA, I guess I am trying to figure out what gave investigators the idea they had come over from Mexico.

I sure hope something is cooking in the case and was encouraged to read LE thinks Briant is still alive. They must have a reason for saying that.

Nice to meet you CHICANA. xox

Just checking in on Briant's thread. It's getting too long now. I'm becoming more and more worried about his survival. :(

All of it is getting too dang long, Kat! Where's Briant, Adji, Haleigh???I just want to scream!! Just 3 days ago the signs along the freeway still had the Amber alert up there for Briant, NOW they're back to normal..( 6 min to I-15, 20 min to 57 FRWY) JUST LEAVE IT UP THERE!!!
I followed a green Explorer day before yesterday with my 6 yr old grandson in the car with me and thought WTH am I doing?? What if it was the kidnappers and they still had the guns?? Thank God, it wasnt them. Car too new and license plate was different...When do I stop driving down the streets looking?? You know what...Never!! Not until I can't do it anymore..BUT, next time I won't have my grandson with me...
