James was last seen leaving a family member's residence on the west side of Redding on his bicycle and stated he was going to the nearby gas station, but never returned home. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Just adding the Namus is MP150830 - for some reason Vic's post wasn't coming up in a search that only used the Namus number.

I hope he is being compared to NAMUS UP80853. According to old newspaper articles this UID was thought to be a woman when found, but that must have been changed at some point. Most things fit with James, other than the shoes being released in September of 1990.

I came here to suggest exactly this!

One of his cousins is mentioned in the article below, advocating for a missing man from Shasta County. I was expecting it to be an article about James but its actually about someone else.


UP80853's profile was modified September 21st and James was entered a week later on September 30th. I feel James being entered into NamUs is simply a formality. I bet the family has given a tentative ID with the Nike High Top shoes and the leather bracelet and now we're just waiting on DNA.

Something tells me this is a pending identification.
