So, I am new here. I live in this tiny wonderful town. we are a community.
Jodie has a wonderful support group around her.
This has saddened our whole community. But, Reyes was not a bad kid, in the usual sense of the word.
My heart aches for his family as well, as he will be in a living hell.
The kids were so close. The kids in town still feel like its a bad dream, or movie.
I am sure no one will forget for generations to follow. these kids touched so many lives.
Still only word on autopsy is multiple stab wounds to Jenny and Steven.
I feel 2 murders to punish Reyes for should be enough to keep him away forever, as sad as it is, he needs to be accountable for his crime. I dont feel that charging him in Billys death is necessary, let alone the cost to our county.
no one will ever know exactly how this all unfolded as it did except the 3 in that room.
its just so sad, a cloud still looms over town.

Welcome to WS. I can't imagine the grief the whole community feels, and the senselessness of it all. Prayers for Jodie's and your healing.

This is so horrible. I am crying. I wish I could give all the mom's a big hug. I can't believe she is having to go through this. I would die of a broken heart.

Yesterday should have been the arraignment, but Reyes got a new attorney, and its moved until the 24th.
Thanks for the warm welcomes.
The h.s. graduation is Friday the 13th. ODD.
Jodies doing good as she can be. She is out and around a bit. She did go to the arraignment.
She is amazing.

Thanks Chico. The details are horrific. It broke my heart to read about the basket. It was probably for Furtado's mom for mothers day. Here is the search warrant. Statement of Probable Cause starts on PDF page 8.

CHESTER, Calif. -- Some type of sexual assault may have happened before or after the killings of two teens on their prom night, Plumas County investigators said.

Bloody evidence is described in a search warrant police obtained for the 18-year-old suspect in the case.

Thanks for the update Chico - pleads not guilty. Had a feeling something 'bad' had happened. Was he on drugs? Wonder if he walked in on them while they were in bed together.

This lady has lost all hope and joy from her life.

her son died as a direct result of his distracted urgency to get to his mother to give her comfort in what was supposed to be the most distressing thing to happen in her life on the discovery of her daughter's body along with her daughter's boyfriend.

i think the ex-boxfriend should be charged with a third homicide.

i hope she has others to give her as much support as possible through what are going to be the darkest of times.

I am so sorry ... for the entire family ... that poor mother and father .. their whole life raising and grooming to let their child grow .... and the noble son who desired to be there to be supportive. Too many of these stories in the news ... may GOD bless them.

Peace

I think the death penalty is warranted here. If this guy blacked out and not only viciously murdered these two young people but also committed some types of sex acts upon them, I don't think there is any hope for him really. Are these not the classic signs of a serial killer? So something set him off prior to committing his first murder, but how long before he would have discovered his penchant for such sexual activity anyway? This guy is scary. If he doesn't get the death penalty, I hope they do throw away the key.

Jealeous ... jolted ex-boyfriend (and I use the term lightly as these are teens)...... so many cases all over the place ... and at all levels of our society; in the news .... OJ, Peterson, ... high level socialites and now prom dates.

Very sick.

Peace.

I am glad justice has been done-Life means Life across the pond doesn't it, not like here when it usually means about 12-15 years:furious:

I do hope that the parents, relatives and loved ones of these dear young people are getting some degree of peace in their lives now. I will pray for them
