Age: 16 -- Height: 4'8" -- Weight: 80 lbs -- Hair Color: Brown -- Eye Color: Brown

Joann has a scar over her left eye and on her abdomen. She has tattoos on a butterfly on her right shoulder, a bird on her left shoulder, a heart on her ankle, and 3 dots on her buttock. Her two pinky fingers are bowed.


Joann was last seen in Stockton, California on August 29, 1985. She left her home in the middle of the night while her mother was at work, but did not take any extra clothing or money.

The "Speed Freak Killers" (Wesley Shermantine and Loren Herzog) are possible suspects in Joann's case. No connection has yet been determined, but foul play is suspected in her case.

Two Victims From Linden Well Identified In ‘Speed Freak Killers’ Case

In a 1 p.m. news conference, Sheriff Steve Moore said that the two victims were JoAnn Hobson, reported missing in September 1985, and Kimberly Billy of Stockton, reported missing in December 1984. Billy was 19 when she disappeared. Hobson was 16.
