When Joey met with Chase at lunch on the 4th, he handed over a check for 100 bucks. That doesn't sound like he was planning on cutting Chase in on a 9 million dollar contract to me. It looks more like someone he was preparing to wean away from his business.
He gave him that cheque on the 2nd.

There isn't any evidence they met for lunch on the 4th.

The detectives are the ones who are asking for specific dates that he needs an alibi for.
They’re asking for ‘dates’ not date because they have no idea when the family was murdered. They’re just hoping to trip CM up in an honest mistake because of faulty memory. A disingenuous trick used by sleazy investigators.

Do you have a link as I would love to read that?

I am trying to track down the link to the actual statement, but here is a mention of it:

"Remember on the CNN special where Patrick and Gina had made notes in talking with CM, in the early days, that CM at first said they argued at that lunch, but had smoothed it over. There’s probably some truth to that, except the part about smoothing it over, with CM later changing his stories…”his story is all over the place.”

I take it you don't have any Law Enforcement family or friends. Investigators/detectives can deceive and lie when they interview, they're not under oath. It takes a liar to catch a liar in many cases.

The last thing the actual killer is going to have in their possession is a photo of where they buried the bodies. This is just another indication that CM is NOT the killer.
IMO, these pictures were his trophies.

The problem with such tactics is it will sometimes ensnare the innocent.

I wouldn't say they had 'no idea' when the family was murdered.

First of all CM is playing poker in the card room which is separate from the casino. The Indian casinos have limited video surveillance in those areas because there’s no casino money to protect as there is on the casino floor. The video they do have of the area is soon purged. I also notice many of you wondering why CM’s phone was disconnected from cell towers for long periods of time, it’s because most all card rooms in the area durning that time jammed cell phone reception in order to prevent cheating at the poker tables.
Link, please?

Does anyone happen to have a link that would have JM's bank statements?

Am really curious if he ever wrote CM a check for $100, other than the one he gave CM early February. Just seems odd.........

This article says "strings of delays" on both sides, 5 delays attributed to Merritt. Yet he wanted a speedy trial because he only had six months to live due to CHF.
Trial of alleged McStay family murderer postponed again

Wikipedia says CM went through FIVE attorneys (causing delays)

McStay family murder - Wikipedia

The first story you linked was a statement from Patrick saying there were 5 according to him, then he goes on to say that one of them was the preliminary hearing... that is the video you linked earlier. That preliminary hearing did not look at all like it was Merritt's fault IMO

The second link... is wiki lol But I am curious to know all 5 attorney's if you know them. I know that Maline was part of a team of attorney's, or maybe it was just him and another guy? I don't really know.

Makes one wonder if there were other parts of the testimonies by Sgt. Smith which included misleading/misinterpreted/distorted information.
The only thing that matters is the fact he had not been to her house. Thus no alibi for cell pings in Victorville.

I would like to listen to it again, but it hasn't been updated :( Those were from tweets from Cathy, and I'm not sure if something was missed or not.

No but IIRC there were smaller cheques like that, not lots, but some, in CM's info that was presented by the Accountant.

did you hear the testimony yesterday? Was she specifically asked about the 6th of February 2010? I really don't recall. I don't know if Rodriquez just sat down at that point.

I wonder if I could recall when specifically my brother came to my house 4 years after the fact... maybe.

ETA: Or even if I saw my brother 4 years ago on a specific day! lol

I believe this is the pic that attorneys are saying is on CM's phone........unless Daily Mail has a whole contact sheet of them.

What are your thoughts on those missing 2 hours?
