That reminds me... I wanted to post the screen shots of the spreadsheet. This shows that Merritt was getting 65% for many of the fountains. There is not enough of the spreadsheet to verify who owed whom how much.

I do believe a trial of this length is difficult for anyone to cover, and that doesn’t even account for the tremendous amount of down time in this particular trial. I believe Law and Crime were telling the truth when they stated it was tough to have an audio/visual recording setup tied up for so long and to have to pay the cameraman and whoever ( audio person) else when there is so much non in-session time.

Grrrr, I don't have the link to the local print news that posted it but..........they were doing pre-trial coverage and the defense was trying to bar live video from the trial proceedings because it was a "National media story"...............

I don't know, but I have no other explanation for no other news outlet covering this case. SBD county is HUGE county, not really densely populated, but it isn't Podunk either. I can't see what could possibly be preventing the local news outlet from doing a live stream.

I think it's because L&C said they would be there, it seems that all the reporters stopped going, stopped covering it.... not even articles about the trial that I can find. Weekly updates, or whatever that is that gets linked here sometimes, but they are probably doing what we are doing... watching L&C's choppy live stream LOL

Well, this defense team has displayed quite a bit of theatrics in this trial. I would guess they were practicing pretrial theatrics when they made that claim. It doesn’t appear to be as popular as they expected it to be.

cathyrusson: McStay - So Dr. Rudin never testified in front of the jury. Turns out he was sort of all over the place. He also never wrote reports and also deleted some stuff. The state's last witness, next week is Eugene Liscio. He's based out of Canada. He is a forensic visualization specialist.


I thought the one about Dr. Rudin was interesting... still don't know if it was the judges ruling or the State making the decision that it was not a good idea...

Sounds like all the delays and dark days could be part of the problem with L&C. Difficult to have cameras in place to stream when there’s no work to produce. JMO. Can’t say I blame them for wanting to move on, if this is the case.

It could be that the State decided not to call him for those above reasons.... do you have a better explanation? Please feel free to share it if you know

She is the ONLY one posting any sort of information.... I would be happy to post anything from any other reporter, or anyone that has some sort of court information outside of what we see on the feeds. Feel free to reply with the list of any reporters that I should follow and I promise I will share all their tweets in regards to this trial.

I'm wondering if they will cover the hearing on Friday? I thought I heard that Google did comply and they had something for the defense at the end of the hearing today... but Microsoft has still not complied.

I also thought that depending on what kind of "report" they were getting from the pro's new guy that is supposed to testify on the 12th... they may have to do a 402(?) hearing (similar to what they did with Rudin)...might have to go back and listen to that again... can't recall if that was on Thursday though and it still hasn't been uploaded.

So I do hope if they have to do the above that they have someone there to cover it... or we at least get the audio ;-) At this point, I will not be surprised if they pull out *sigh* They pull out their cams... everyone was upset... they bring them back... and yeah, they aren't perfect, so everyone is upset... then they have all the delay's, scattered court days... I hope they stay, but won't be suprised if they don't. I do hope that Cathy at least gets the audio if nothing else.

I had thought after reading so much on here that the DA had no evidence, was presenting a shoddy case, maybe the Def would just not present a case. Just rest and let the jury have it.

But WOW after listening to almost an hour of the Judge give his reasoning for no directed verdict as requested by the Defense. The Defense better bring a wheelbarrow full of mud to throw at their case.

IMO not looking good.

Well this other guy, he may have already had worked on the very same thing Rudin did considering the amount of time we are looking at. I can't fathom he threw together the same thing Rudin did over a week.

On Rudin, it could be that the state felt he wouldn't be effective in his testimony. He does have a very thick accent. I had to strain at times to make out what he was saying. I don't have a lot of experience in trial watching but I imagine Rudin may have not been a likable enough witness. JMO

The defense did the standard 'request for dismissal' ---

And the judge replied by pulling out a file of notes, detailing the evidence submitted by the Pros.

Thank you, and if that is the case, then it makes it extra crappy if L&C decide not to stay if they agreed to be the "pool" cam. I recall the first day it was a local newstation's camera... and they left early!!!! LOL

I liked Dr. Rudin, and he is a very smart man, it's like you could see his "wheels" turning as he was talking. I have a feeling he was just too unpredictable, there were things that he did that he was not asked to do... once he got some calculations, he just did it because that's what he does! I laughed when he told McGee that he would look at whatever they wanted him to ... I would think the prosecution wouldn't like that so much, just not good witness material IMO

I would still like to know if it was the judges ruling or the State's decision though.
