I know that. They appear to be high paid private attorney's. But we know that Chase was not in a position to personally pay for a top notch defense team. Yet, he got it.

That's not unusual in a death penalty trial. In fact its common, although I don't know how high profile these attorneys are since I've never heard of either one before this case.

The court keeps an update list of death qualified attorneys, and the court chooses them from that list.

They contact them to see if they will be available, and if not they will contact others.

Jarvis testifies attending McStay's wedding. Defense Attorney Rajan Maline is showing her a picture. Jarvis laughs at the photo tells court it was an awkward phase. The photo includes Merritt, Javis, her mom, another little girl and McStay at the wedding.

Maline asks if she remembers February 2010 when the McStay's went missing. Javis says it was a gradual realization that something was amiss when her dad was unable to reach Joseph McStay.

Since I believe the killer drove the Trooper to the border where it was found.

I want to see how the defense

A. gets the “real” killers DNA into the Trooper
B. Get CMs DNA out of the drivers side.
C get CMs DNA in the passengers side where it should be since he said he rode in the Trooper weeks earlier.

Javis was questioned by investigators about what she remembered about February 4th. She was 15y/o at the time. She recalls her dad was in the vicinity when he got a call from McStay and he didn't pickup because he was talking to her mom. Prosecution is objecting to speculation.

Javis told investigators about the argument that occurred in the evening. The argument was touched off by Merritt ignoring McStay's call. The next day she says her dad could not get a hold of McStay.
