I disagree. I believe Ramos was very aware of what the evidence was. Not a good practice for the DA to go on record without the facts, IMO.
If you look at the question posed by Kaye I can easily see how he might not have heard her correctly and innocently answered incorrectly. Nothing nefarious, IMO.

I'm a Toshiba girl myself LOL and even those are all different... except the 2 that I have that are exact.... one is a paper weight though!

I wonder where the "Mike took a laptop" started from? I don't recall thinking any different, but I am not sure if it's because we were told along the way it was a laptop or if I just assumed it was because grabbing a laptop sounds easier and makes more sense than a desktop, but I guess it makes sense if he was wanting to look at Joey's personal stuff. Like in my own house, you wouldn't find my husbands info on my computer, it would be on his.

JMO
MM stated it in the EquuSearch walk through video. He mentioned he took the laptop, a hard drive, the sim cards and also ran Joey's credit report. He told Steph Watts, SM's brother, and Tim that it was okay because "he's the bro".

ohhhh so I wonder if this is where the "laptop" thing came from? I will have to go back and watch those video's to see. I have been wondering where it originated from.

Just to quote your post again missy, according to the San Diego search warrants and what was taken by LE from the McStay home, they seized
8.) Dell Inspiron Laptop from shelf in kitchen.
9) E Machine Computer T2040 from den.
10) H.P. Computer HPM 700 from den.
So i imagine that 9 and 10 were desktop computers?, and as it states in the warrants that 8 was the Dell laptop. Why would MM say he took the tower without the actual computer i wonder? Or did he take the actual computer as well? And when did he take it and then bring it back for LE to take it from the home according to the SW?
Search Warrants from San Diego Sheriff's Investigation into McStay...

[bbm]

the tower = the actual computer - that's where the hard drive/memory is
do you mean did he take the monitor as well? he had no need to take the monitor as all the 'brains' are in the tower
he could hook the tower up to any monitor he had at home

Yes could be. I have read conflicting information about it on the internet, so just thought i would go by what the search warrants stated was seized by LE at the time, because that is what was taken into evidence.
And taking into consideration what has come out in the Trial about the computers as well, because that is also valid information.

Is there anyone here who only heard about the two adult shallow graves comment for the first time from this testimony? If so, I'm curious what your reaction was.

it's not my first time hearing it but if I'm being honest, it bothers me
also that MM may have driven by there on the 4th
it also bothers me that there's perhaps no proof that DK was in Hawaii
and that Susan cleaned the home ...

Just found out:
Ramos's name is Michael A. Ramos.
The judge's name is Michael A Smith.
I have a few Mikes in my family too! Am I missing your point? Please clarify.

I think most of us long-timers remember Rick Baker and all his drama. However, I recently was looking in his book to see if he had photocopies of any interest to some of our discussions. I did find a few interesting snippets. Remember this "book" was written before the bodies were found and he did spend about a year "researching" - traveling to Fallbrook, etc.

Anyway, I found these snippets interesting:

"Joseph’s father, Patrick, claims that law enforcement investigators told him Joseph bought gas near his home at about 4:30 p.m. and that he paid for a prescription for the kids, Amoxicillin, at a local pharmacy at about the same time." If this is true, it tends to confirm that Joey actually made it home - something I've had trouble with.

Here's another interesting snip P 87:

"Had the sheriff ’s department subpoenaed the neighbor’s home security videotapes, they may have been able to identify the white truck and white Toyota SUV that were both reportedly parked in their driveway in the days right after the family had disappeared. One neighbor told me that he had seen a “white truck with business letters on the side” parked in their driveway."

FWIW!
From what i have read a little about RB on the internet, i would take anything he said about this case with a huge grain of salt, because i believe he had an agenda.

A look at the Internet also suggests there are some anti-RB people who may have an agenda. I remember seeing some websites full of RB hating comments and wondered what their agenda was.

Agree with all.

I agree he liked to stir things up, was unreliable in many respects and put some pretty wild theories out there, so I'm no fan. But he was in Fallbrook and spoke with the neighbors before any of us knew about CM's involvement. Thus I still find the neighbor comments interesting.

Plus if there is proof that Joey filled a prescription and tanked up at 4:30 it means he did make it home.

Well... doesn't look like they are uploading audio today. Cathy has been pretty quiet on twitter today as well, so maybe she wasn't available. Will check in at the L&C chat tomorrow and see if we are going to get audio. Will suck if we aren't considering it was the defense DNA expert today and I was curious about the DNA found in the graves. *sigh*

Since you are asking me, I'm replying about me (not MM): If I think there is something important on my missing relative's computer that I want to see/access but don't want the LE see/know, I would get hold of the computer before it gets to the LE's hands. If I simply want to know about credit card/bank withdrawal info, I'd contact the credit card company or the bank, because I would think my behavior would look sneaky and suspicious if I take my missing relative's computer when they have just vanished without an explanation and before the LE has investigated/processed everything in the house. If I suspect foul play, I'd definitely let the LE do their work before I take anything away. If I believe they went on vacation, then I wouldn't take their computer, as it's not mine.
But you wouldn’t be able to contact the credit card company or the banks and get any info. They wouldn’t tell you anything.

I know. I really wanted to hear about these 3 DNA samples. I haven’t found any tweets or news articles yet either. This is like a ghost trial. I find it do odd that no one is reporting on a quadruple murder.

And NO, it isn’t because these kinds of crimes are common in Fallbrook. Not at all.

I said that's what I'd do.

From the same Orange County Register article:

"Michael McStay, Joseph’s brother, said a video from a neighbor’s home security camera shows the family leaving their Fallbrook house at 7:47 p.m. that day in their white Isuzu Trooper."

For all we know, the footage only shows the bottom part of a white truck. There's not even a shadow of a family, and no indication it's the Isuzu Trooper. So why did he say it shows the family and the Trooper?

In this video they also call the vehicle in the footage the Isuzu Trooper: (We can also see the Chick-Fil-A, which I've been curious to see:))
