#McStay - Defense expert now talking about the table. In the prosecution case it was suggested the table had blood spatter on it that was missed during the crime scene investigation and only noticed in photographs. Actual table was no longer available.

#McStay - Defense expert points out the white looking stains on the table. The white stains are surrounded with the reddish stains. He says the white stains would not be consistent with blood.

#McStay - Defense expert drew red circles around each reddish brown stain on the picture of the table. He noted the amount stains on the legs, but no stains on the floor.

#McStay - Defense blood spatter expert notes no blood stains on the floor around the chairs or on the area rug next to the table. Jurors heard in previous testimony that the floor had dirt/dust/grime and did not appear to have been cleaned.

So the defense team is trying to disprove they were killed in the house by showing blood spatter on the table? I would have to imagine that the "blood" on the table would have been noticed by cops or JM's family.

The hypothetical blood stains on the table were not seen at the time. They were first noticed at the beginning of this trial, in the pictures taken by law enforcement.

PT's claim that the 4 victims were bludgeoned to death inside the house goes against common sense, so DT has to show what common sense is. Next the DT may be forced to show that white spots could not be blood.
Talk about common sense and logic, I'm surprised the PT didn't have an expert testify that convicts such as CM prefer using a hammer instead of a firearm when committing mass murder because it would be a crime for a felon to possess a firearm.

That is not what is being shown.

The blood spatter or whatever is being shown to show what it looks like.

The table is being shown to dispute what the prosecution put out there that it was possibly blood.

I think the defense would agree that blood on the table would have been noticed by the cops lol That's their point ;-)

They noticed what they're now calling blood 9 years later. Yep, that's a top notch job the investigators did, they just needed a little time to form a conclusion.

So the PT showed the pictures and speculated the red marks were blood? What a horrible mistake.

Yes, their speculation about this is a microcosm of their whole case.

They did that during Dugal's testimony... then mentioned again in Denys Williams testimony. They even said they sat at that table :eek::eek:

So anyone that wants to complain about this testimony, can thank the prosecution for introducing it in the first place IMO LOL

Personally I think the blood was captured by painters cloth or towels wrapped around their heads. Obviously they were found with cloth like material around them.
However, no blood evidence was found on any of the cloth towels or blanket.

they are done for the day... I believe he was done on Direct. Should start with cross tomorrow.

No complaint. It's the most light-hearted testimony to date.

Expect Imes to ask: "Were the Beasley Chair and the McStay Table made by the same manufacturer?"

Anybody recall when in Dugals testimony the blood spattered table was mentioned?
