I believe we have finally seen a turning point in the trial yesterday when CMs first audio interview started playing for the jury to hear along with having transcripts to read.

Imo here on out it will become much more interesting and revealing.

It’s difficult to get a read on Merritt, you would think if he was able to orchestrate this whole charade including the misdirection pointing to Mexico, he wouldn’t say something like that. His behavior and statements made durning the interview could be a continuation of his misdirection ploy, with CM thinking that the investigator certainly wouldn’t expect the guilty party to say something so obviously incriminating. After all CM was well versed in poker strategy.

CM thought the McStay Family would remain buried. Right where he left them. So why not misdirect?

I don't think this is a case of CM's "continuation of his misdirection ploy". Yes, he is well versed in poker strategy, but poker doesn't involve long conversations! I do think that CM is intelligent enough to "orchestrate this whole charade including the misdirection pointing to Mexico", but that is an entirely different thing than speaking to someone.

Speech happens in split seconds and to be skillful at misleading, consistently, in a conversation would be quite difficult, I think. So much of our speech patterns and habits and inclinations are ingrained and much of our speech happens so quickly it's almost automatic. We're asked to comment on something that we know happened in the past, and it's almost impossible to override the brain and speak of it in the present.

Exactly

Also lying is hard.

Yes that’s the problem with any case you only get so much information and people jump the gun.

Wasn’t Rick Baker another one who said she may of poisoned Joey as well?

Then all the stuff about her having different surnames and her lying about her DOB meant people thought the worse.

Plus she wasn’t close with Joey’s family and I am sure there was other stuff but it seemingly painted her in a bad light.
YEP YEP YEP! Imo in the from Nov '12 - Nov '13 Chase was feeding a lot 'info' to Baker. Two women haters feeding off one another.

I haven't watched the trial at all until now, when I was just watching the part where the prosecutor is going through the grave site evidence. During it, the camera would pan over to CM at times, and always he had one hand to his face, usually his mouth/chin area. (Both arms resting on the table in front of him, but one hand up to his face.) I apologize if this has been discussed here before and I missed it, but I was wondering what, if anything, this might mean. Does anyone here attribute any significance to this?

Just an opinion: CM is a known Poker player. One of the ways they help keep a "Poker Face" is to cover their mouth with their hand. To shield a player (jury) from any facial reaction.

Re-Reading what I typed could've been interpreted as harsh. I did NOT mean it that way, thus the edit. I apologize, sorry about that.

Watching this I have decided I could never be a forensic technician. It’s not like I have the brains to be one anyway but still it’s so depressing and I would find it soul destroying to work on a case like this.

Just seeing the skulls and no body to speak of it is truly horrific.

See some things always make me think they was killed at the grave site.

So it looks like a teddy bear was found so why on earth would Chase throw a teddy bear in the grave if they was killed in the home?

But if you was trying to get the boys out of the house then it makes sense a teddy was taken by one of the kids IMO

It was a towel that had a face on it (the hood of the towel). Remember when I posted something from the preliminary hearing that said black eyes and nose were found in the grave.. and I think it was you, was wondering wth? lol That is the towel, with black eyes/nose

The ropes/cord/tie down found in the graves were used to tie down their bodies during transport, IMO. I believe, so far, that they were lured/killed somewhere else, maybe JM 1st and then the rest of the family, and then transported/buried in their graves. Otherwise, SOME evidence would've been found in their home.

Just as the jury was doing the physical examination of some of the grave items there was a bit of a scrum at the defense table. They really did not appear happy. Perhaps because the judge allowed Ms. Radeleff to say the stain on sweatpants seemed like bleach? Not sure. But something didn’t please them, Imo.
