ok wait.. maybe the panties/sweat pants weren't tested...

ETA: she knows they were sent for testing, she does not know what they were tested for.

And the defense already knows this. A forensic expert will testify to the findings later on.

After it taking so long for the bodies to be found I am sure a lot of evidence was unobtainable like it would have been if they had been found shortly after being murdered.

I really dislike the way the defense cross examines knowing this witness is not who tested it.

She is not expected to know what anything really was. All she can say is it appears to be this or that. If course he already knows that.

Imo

@thelmadawg “But in the end, sort of a peacock with no feathers, just a loud voice.”

Ouch. You have done gone and hurt up my feelings. NOT.

You are so right. Lots of screeching without the beauty of the Peacock.

Aw . . . not intentional :) Beautiful birds with scary calls, though.

#McStay - Cross exam
McGee: Would the location of this stain be consistent w/someone urinating themselves?
Radeleff: Could be
McGee: Consistent with ammonia? Did you know that urine breaks down to ammonia? A lot of objecting going on

Under cross exam Radeleff says she can't say with certainty this is bleach on Summer's pants.

#McStay - McGee: Did you measure the distance between the two graves? No
Did you write in your report it was approx 20 ft That sounds right

#McStay - The witness is done. The judge just kicked out the media/public so he could talk to the jury. I'm assuming this is about a site view

What's the significance of the possible paint on the clothing? Would it connect to McCarger or what?

I remember something about CM purchasing a new padlock from the manager of the storage complex.

This is from the search warrants. They wanted a warrant to see if the there was a purchase of a lock there because the one key found in Joey's pocket looked to be a Chateau key, the same kind of lock that they had there.

They seem to be a common padlock for storage units though when I googled them. JMO

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but at the same time, she shouldn't be able to say it's bleach if she has no idea if it's bleach or not, no?

Thank you for such a detailed response, it shows how little I know about this stuff. It’s always good to learn new things on here.

I genuinely thought the longer the swing the more power behind it.

YW. He already had a lot of power and rage with every swing. He is a larger person than any of his victims.

If the handle was longer there would be a chance it could be grabbed away. With it shorter they would have to get up close in his zone if they tried to grab it.

Many victims even multiple victims have been murdered when the murderer use an ordinary short hammer with a small head.

Personally I think he had them all restrained and helpless before he uses the sledgehammer.

For me, the bleach means trying to destroy dna evidence from her rape.
This was intitally my thought too but it is almost too depraved to speak aloud. Absolutely horrific and would explain a sexual assault at the home. No wonder her poor mother is visibly upset. I have no words...

I think it's just making a connection to the house. The prosecution is going with the theory that they were killed in the home.

The "stains" on the pants look to me like she would have had to be standing or even sitting (more on the back/bum of the pants). I guess she could have been laying on her stomach and if it's bleach, it was poured? I don't know how the 'going down' the pants happens if she isn't standing though.

Yes..they do it all the time.

A detective in a case will get up and testify about evidence collected. They often say a certain piece of evidence 'appears to have a stain that looks like it may be blood." Ect. So do collection techs.

They are allowed to testify what they think something may be based on their experience.

So yes it's very commonly done.

I'm always disgusted with states that don't allow photos of the victims to be displayed in the courtroom during the trial, but I'm somewhat comforted by the bone evidence on display. It's horrendous. Gruesome. I hope it has such a sobering effect on the jury that they make every effort to find CM guilty if all the evidence lines up.

In my mind, the Quickbook records, timing, and email evidence are enough to point to him. Hopefully the jury will also be treated to that famous photo of him out in the dessert somewhere, standing, shovel in hand, in a very "grave-esque" excavation.

Likely that a sexual assault or something occurred at the home.

What was he doing in that photo?

If SBSO found 4 homicide victim's buried in the desert, with stains found on clothing/material and did NOT test them for their contents, OMG is all I can say.

Dont worry. They did. I have no doubt. Just like the witness said they were sent off for testing.

From wiki... so take it or leave it... lol

Cleaning
Because urea in urine breaks down into ammonia, urine has been used for the cleaning properties of the ammonia therein. In pre-industrial times urine was used – in the form of lant or aged urine – as a cleaning fluid.[25] Urine was also used for whitening teeth in Ancient Rome.

whitening teeth...

I pray they did, whatever their contents. If not, a HUGE hole for the Prosecution of this case, IMO.

It occurred to me that if it is urine the pants could have been pulled off her so that urine didn't transfer on to him and his clothing when he carried her to the vehicle.
