Force Ten, were you here waaaaay back? Do you remember some other "character-type" comments from acquaintances that indicated that he was a real hot-head and could get violent quickly. Didn't he get into a few fights? Wish I had time to go back through all those posts.
Yeah there were rumors about such. I don't recall seeing any here. Deleted? However I didn't start steadily following until May 2011.

At 42:00 he is asked if he subpoenaed DK's bank records, he says no. Asked if he subpoenaed his Paypal records, he says no. It's shortly after this that he makes mention that they verified he was in Hawaii, but he did not do this himself. (the pro's keep objecting, it's annoying lol really... if it's been verified and they are okay with it, then just let the guy say it lol)

This is the thinnest gruel

they have nothing on DK's involvement.

I just hope they can really nail down the proof that DK was in Hawaii all that time.

What does have me concerned is that high powered forensic auditor that they are paying big bucks to. That expert may run rings around the investigators report about the books.

I worry that DK did a lot of hinky financial shenanigans and when the defense presents their case, it might create doubt in the juror's minds.

I think it defies ALL common sense that they would leave the dogs outside, and that Merritt would be backdating cheques to the date they disappeared, plus there's the wet paint on the bra...which didn't happen in San Ysidro. Plus no cell phone activity. Etc etc.

True. I hope we have some jurors who can connect the dots.

You seem to be where I am right now.. I KNOW in my head and heart that he did this. I know this from what I know and what makes sense. But when looking at the testimony as it's unfolding, I don't see it yet. And what I thought I knew, is not always turning out to be the case, like evidence in the home that there was a crime committed there (I really did think they had found something there in 2014, and IMO they didn't, especially after hearing Steers say today that the evidence does not show that).

I'm seeing the defense bring out some good testimony for their case during the State's case, which is just crazy to me. They aren't making everything up ... ok, the going to Mexico thing is silly and I bet McGee wishes he could take that question back... but I do see what McGee was getting at. Now that we know that is the Isuzu key in Joey's pocket, I would like to know if another key was found in the home?

YES, McGee went a step too far to say maybe that was the McStays in the video. That kind of negated the more intelligent stuff he said earlier.

I did like the detectives answer, that they knew the family didn't drive themselves to the border etc--it was an effective answer.

HOWEVER, I do think McGee was able to make it look a little snarky, and the jury might have disliked it if it made them think the cop was being narrow minded, sarcastic and not looking at all scenarios.

McGee was successful with framing it like that until he stretched too far and said 'how do you know they weren't the ones in the video.?' DOH

But when he was questioning how they knew it happened on the 4th, and not the 5th, it did make the detective stumble s bit. JMO

I thought Smith came off snarky and like he had a chip on his shoulder. And although I can understand it somewhat, because the defense is accusing them of confirmation bias and not looking at other suspects, or DK, he is supposed to be professional about it. JMO These are the situations where I wish we had someone reporting how the jury is reacting to the testimony and the witnesses.

We saw DuGal testify, he didn't get snarky or angry, we saw Steers earlier testify, he didn't get snarky or angry. It rubbed me the wrong way..... but for the record, I didn't mind watching him testify, he's easy on the eyes :D:D:D:D

Yes, I am so curious about this jury.

I am hoping and praying there are intelligent people, who can think things through. Much of the most damaging evidence will be the Quickbooks stuff. It would be great if we have some retired professionals, or some engineers or IT peeps who can sort this stuff out.

The worst thing could be if we end up with a lot of anti-LE people who think everyone on trial is being railroaded by crooked cops. Thats what this defense seems to be implying and I hope they are not doing so because of something they see within the jury.

So looking at the cord around Joey - i always assumed this was a standard domestic extension cord.

But it looks like 2 ply flex cable?

Seems like more the kind of thing an electrical contractor would have than would be lying around the home. I actually just brought the 3 ply version of this cable which can be used to run electricity behind skirting board. The other place I'd expect to find this sort of cable, with socket etc, is for machinery running on mains power.

e.g a fountain pump?

I also thought about the DIY aspect but were they doing their own rewiring? And this has a custom socket - not like what you find in your wall.

I think the cord was a handle to carry the body and I think it was the kind of thing the murderer had lying around at his "interim storage" for the bodies.
Can someone post the photos?

The gravesite: I read somewhere that CM actually lived/worked within a few miles from the gravesites. If true, that would explain how he knew to access the desert's "roads" without getting buried/stuck.

Does anyone have a list of his previous work/home locations? I'm sure the Pros has turned over every rock they could find out about him. This is a high profile case, along with a family that was savagely beaten to death.

Ironically, when he was arrested, his residence is less than 10 miles from where I currently live. Truth.:eek::eek:

Yeah I work about the same distance away, so you and me both :eek::eek:

@Force Ten Elva Fonseca testified today. I remember you saying a few weeks ago you thought it would be interesting. Did she say what you expected today?

I haven't watched it yet. Based on what I read hear today it was uneventful, other than she testified he was ripping Joseph off. She could have testified to so much more but I guess it would deemed hearsay.

I did just watch Detective Ryan's testimony and it was engrossing. I did actually email him my lengthy conversations with Kavanaugh and Jarvis so it was good to put a face to the name.

It was uneventful IMO And I don't know how much she was able to get out about him 'ripping Joey off'. She said that Chase used pumps that Joey bought for his own use, she told Joey. She said that one time when he needed to make payroll, he told Joey a fountain was done so Joey would pay for it... but then she said that she was the one that talked to Joey and said that it wasn't done, but Joey still paid and payroll was done that time. That was about it.

One interesting thing she testified about is that at some point, her job included doing the accounting... on QuickBooks.

Will the prosecutors and defense lawyers as well as the judge be going to the grave site with the jury? What about the people who were in the audience watching the testimonies such as the relatives of the victims? And what about the defendant?
