Well, we know Chase somehow got Joey's QB sign in/password info before the murders because he got into QB and printed a check on the 2nd, maybe Joey kept that info and his pin for VM in his office (same place Chase likely stole the blank checks from).

It's crossed my mind his hanging around the house so much to cause Summer to complain was waiting for an opportunity to do just that, but I have no evidence to back that up, maybe he always did (since they moved in) and she always complained, idk.

I have no answer for your last question but would also love to know the answer.

I don't think Joey had passcodes for everything or used the same, easy to guess, code for everything ... maybe Chase didn't even have to guess because Joey told him what it was or let slip and then laughed and said "oh well now you know the code haha" kinda situation

this was probably one of the things that understandably irritated Summer IMO

I'm in Ontario ... brrrrr

are we trying to figure out which hand Chase would've opened the Trooper door with? if so, why?

Go back to my post 349 lol

and yes brrrrrrr! This up and down temps are killing us here, one day -30, the next 0 ... crazy!

Or Chase could have been standing behind or beside Joey at some point when Joey signed in to QB and CM saw what keys Joey pressed.

We know he didn't have his password for his email, or at least the email account associated with the QuickBooks account because he couldn't get the emails they sent about changing whatever.

Well, I'm probably hallucinating, but I watched McGee's opening statement on YouTube, and didn't catch anything about what was found in the graves. I thought that Maline pointed to various aspects of the defense's case listed on an overhead board, among them being the knife. This was when the camerman took a powder. Missy directed me to a cell phone video posted on Twitter. It was difficult to see or hear anything, but it was the only game in town, apparently. Can someone else weight in here?

If I had a dollar for every time a defense’s opening statement made a big point of something that then never appeared in the testimony.....

The DNA in the Trooper...I was going to comment about this yesterday...

McGee in his OS had a pretty good explanation of it and I'm sure we will see it at some time in the trial. If it's transfer DNA....

He shakes Merritt's hand with his right hand... he then goes to the truck... which hand does he open the door with? Which hand do you open the door with? Personally, on the drivers door, I open the door with my left hand (my daughter says she uses her right ... I'm going to watch her sometime and see haha) He gets in the driver seat, touches the gear shift, touches the steering wheel, might touch the other control's when he first gets in. IIRC he was a minor contributor on the steering wheel and trace on the gear shift and controls (they couldn't tell which exactly because it was a collective swab, not separate swabs taken).

So I'm curious to everyone.... which hand do you open the drivers door with?

I use my right hand for the passenger door, but my left for the drivers door lol

ETA: my son just came home, I asked him... he uses his left hand. My husband isn't sure and he refuses to go outside and report back to me because it's minus stupid here LOL

I doubt transfer DNA happens on separate parts of the car, IMO. Maybe one item, MAYBE. . . But 3 parts, No way, IMO.

or ... you might be too shocked to say anything ...
I do believe a shocked person would be standing bolt upright, wide-eyed, and struggling as best they could. Not shuffling and stumbling along, head way down ... they got me ..

MOO, of course.

@Edmo since you are so familiar with the area... and others as well...

How easy would it have been for Chase to get back to the area? Is this something that could take a half hour? an hour? within minutes of walking away from the Trooper? By the looks of the timeline, it's looking pretty tight. We have to assume that he would have known exactly where or what to do to get back that quickly as well... maybe he searched it before he went, but we would have heard about that, wouldn't we have?

ETA: we are also assuming he was alone and no one followed and drove him back as well I guess

IMO, leaving Azusa could be 2 separate ways to get to SD. 1 from the LA area, or 2 through the Corona/Fallbrook route. You could EASILY make to Sd and back from EITHER routes w/in 6 hours, IMO.

Hmmm. Considering the whole "transfer DNA" theory, I guess I'd like to do more testing (other than the one you're already doing, Missy) although that's definitely interesting -and I can't tell you-no idea until I actually go out and do it). If they're going to propose this theory, wouldn't you want to find out just how often, if ever, one shakes hands with someone, then opens their car door, said DNA transfer would hang around and for how long? And not just anecdotal evidence, I mean what are the actual odds? Love to see a controlled study, because it sounds pretty unlikely to me.

Like someone said earlier -"How many coincidences are you willing to believe". (Paraphrasing, I'm sure.)

Side question (just curious): how many children does CM have?

I recall somewhere either in the testimonies it was said that there was evidence that JM was alive as of February 5 (morning?). I seem to recall it's a defense argument. What lead them to the belief?

I know the defense said in OS that the murders occurred in the am of the 5th. I have yet to understand why they would say that?

Thanks Edmo. I would like to narrow down when they were murdered. What's sure is it's between Feb. 4 and Feb. 12.

As far as what is generally known, three - two girls and a boy.

According to the Prosecution, the murders happened on the 4th, inside of their home, according to their Opening Statement.

I believe he has 3. An older daughter who has attended some of the trial. She was there front row behind the defense when I attended day 9. Then I believe he has a younger boy and girl. Teenagers by now.

Ah, you were there! Could you tell us who else were there that you could tell? like which victim family members were there? Did you only attend on Day 9? If not, were those relatives present every day? About how many people in total in the audience aside from the legal teams? Thanks.

Does anyone KNOW about CM's cell phone being "off/out of range" for 20 hours on the 5th of Feb, 2010? I read this from a "blogsite" while searching for his cell phone model/brand earlier tonight. I took it as a "grain of salt" and I am still unable to locate that original "blog." I DID read about it being "off" for 20 hours on the 5th, just DON'T know if this is factual info?

Day 9 was the only day I attended.
CM's daughter was the only family member there that day. Nobody from the victim's family was there that I noticed. I would say between 10 - 20 people were in the "audience".
I was actually really surprised that there wasn't more people. The courtroom is really really small.

IIRC, SBSO Inv Fisher (Lead Homicide Inv in this case) stated during CM's arrest Press Conference: They found evidence in the home, as well as the gravesites that point to CM being involved with the murders. Now that he has stated that info, it is up to the State to PROVE what they have found.
