I doubt transfer DNA happens on separate parts of the car, IMO. Maybe one item, MAYBE. . . But 3 parts, No way, IMO.

Well, minor contributor on the steering wheel, trace on the the other. There is no way to know if it was all 3, from what I understood in the prelim testimony, the steering wheel was swabbed. Then the gear shift/controls/middle console were all swabbed with 1 swab (it was a collective swab, so no way to tell if it was in 1 spot or all spots that were swabbed) Nothing on the door, inside or out. Until we get that in numbers from a forensic person that can testify about it, I'm not sure?

IMO, leaving Azusa could be 2 separate ways to get to SD. 1 from the LA area, or 2 through the Corona/Fallbrook route. You could EASILY make to Sd and back from EITHER routes w/in 6 hours, IMO.

so how easy is it to get a ride back? or whatever kind of transportation? Again, assuming he was all alone.

Hmmm. Considering the whole "transfer DNA" theory, I guess I'd like to do more testing (other than the one you're already doing, Missy) although that's definitely interesting -and I can't tell you-no idea until I actually go out and do it). If they're going to propose this theory, wouldn't you want to find out just how often, if ever, one shakes hands with someone, then opens their car door, said DNA transfer would hang around and for how long? And not just anecdotal evidence, I mean what are the actual odds? Love to see a controlled study, because it sounds pretty unlikely to me.

Like someone said earlier -"How many coincidences are you willing to believe". (Paraphrasing, I'm sure.)

Hubby and I went to get something to eat... he uses his left hand to open the drivers door. I have realized a flaw in my question posed though... European/North American vehicles are opposite... and since I know for myself that I use my left hand on the drivers side, and right hand on the passenger side... answers need to be adjusted accordingly LOL So my UK friendly posters need to consider it's an American vehicle so for them, it would be like getting into the passenger side I guess. *sigh* Studies are so hard! haha

I know the defense said in OS that the murders occurred in the am of the 5th. I have yet to understand why they would say that?

The eggs on the counter. Coffee in the coffee pot, partially drank coffee in the coffee cups, cut up fruit in some bowls, popcorn in some bowls (we had a discussion about who would feed their kids popcorn in the morning lol), and the way they were dressed. Oh, and the dogs outside. This was their reason for it happening in the early morning of the 5th. I don't really agree, but just thought I would post the defense 'reason'.

Thanks Edmo. I would like to narrow down when they were murdered. What's sure is it's between Feb. 4 and Feb. 12.

Because of Joey's phone activity, it's pretty easy to narrow it down to the evening of the 4th, maybe, and I say BIG maybe the early hours of the 5th. I think we will "see" this when we see all of his phone records. From the glimpse I got of the records from the late night/early morning of the 4th, his phone was accessing the internet overnight every 2 hours, I don't know if that happened every night though.

I believe he has 3. An older daughter who has attended some of the trial. She was there front row behind the defense when I attended day 9. Then I believe he has a younger boy and girl. Teenagers by now.

The investigators probably didn't take fingerprints from the cups and bowls to see if it may have been put there or arranged by some outsider to make a false scene.

Does anyone KNOW about CM's cell phone being "off/out of range" for 20 hours on the 5th of Feb, 2010? I read this from a "blogsite" while searching for his cell phone model/brand earlier tonight. I took it as a "grain of salt" and I am still unable to locate that original "blog." I DID read about it being "off" for 20 hours on the 5th, just DON'T know if this is factual info?

I don't know about the 5th, because didn't they say he went to Los Angeles or something, based off the tower pings?

Look at the 7th on this screenshot though. It's not super clear (not my fault, it was like the projector didn't want to focus on it well)

it looks like it says 02/07/10 05:17 then the next line is 02/08/10 07:24 ... so that means no activity from 5:17am until the next morning at 7:24am?? The 7th would have been a Sunday. The 7th looks ideal to have moved the Trooper, but because the security guards testified and are so sure it had to be the 8th, they are stuck with the 8th.

Honestly, I can't recall right at the moment what she said lol But we haven't heard any testimony in the trial about the results of that testing yet (other than OS's) The best we can do for the moment is the preliminary hearing... this is what was said..

I'm not sure about the oldest daughter. For some reason I think she is his step daughter. The other 2 are with CJ for sure.

I actually live in N Calif. but I'm visiting my sister in Riverside (about 20 miles from the courthouse). I am hoping to attend sometime next week before I head home.

CM met with Joey on the 4th afternoon (or noon), so we know he's alive then. So the earliest possible kidnap/murder would be late afternoon or evening of the 4th, and if it happened before the 8-ish PM phone call to CM, the call could be made by someone else and not Joey.

right, that's what I understood from the phone dudes lol part of the problem is.. like on the 8th for example, Chases phone has no activity from 7ish until 12:30ish and then nothing until 1:30pmish At 12:30, I think CJ tried calling him and it went to VM... so it shows that on his records with no tower. Now, there is no way to tell if he shut his phone off and at what time, we don't know if he was in an area that didn't have coverage, or whatever. Unless someone calls him and we can see that it didn't connect with a tower, how do we know if he shut it off at 7:30am or if he turned it off at 12:00pm? Or if there was just no activity between 7:30 and 12:30? Does that make sense?

I kinda hope they have some super secret records that we don't know about yet LOL I have read some stuff ... part of the reason that some of the phone companies didn't want to comply with the subpoena's. It was for information that they really don't people to know that they have. I will say JMO though, because I can't recall what it was called.

Also, CM's phone "pinging" off the Victorville Tower on the 6th, near the gravesites, will be a HARD reason for the Defense to state WHY he was there at that particular date and time. They better have a reason other than he was seeing family that day. Just sayin . . . .
