Report please what you hear! :)

Dang... was anyone listening? LOL I'm going to rewind and listen, but from what I did hear when I was at work... the bookmark that was accessed on the 5th, the Quicken bookmark for Free Credit Report was just one of thousands of files that were accessed around that time, it was a system access, not a user access... and Maline was implying it was a scan...

This is what JMarsh was saying about the Encase program. It's very selective and it's all about the user putting in search terms, and that's what comes back... it doesn't always show the full picture. They took a break but i missed what Schroeder said he found after looking at a report during the break.

Law & Crime needs to look up the definition of "uninterrupted" live feed and compare that to the word "missing". I think they are confused.

The Youtube "live" is fantastic, it's the replays that cut out on me. If I lower the Pixel settings on the replay, it seems to work fine, but lower quality. I can watch the live at 720p, so far.

But, I agree with you. They need to get their act together on the L&C site vs YT stream(s).

@Edmo, How does one connect to the YT stream, please?

On Youtube, search for Law and Crime and their channel will be at the top of the page. Click on their logo/playlist/McStay Trial. It will also be on their main page, after you click their logo, and if it is live, they usually have it there as well.

So it wasn't "someone" accessing the computer, it was likely a scan ... AND the defense brought this out on cross????:eek:

#McStay - Schroeder: On Feb 5, 6:16pm, a bookmark - Quicken Books Free Credit Report was accessed on the McStay's computer (E-machine), however under cross exam we learn there were likely thousands of hits at same time, Shroeder admits that could be a computer scan

But you don't account for him to just stop in front of the house and park? Which is what normally someone would do lol I understood exactly what you were saying I just disagree ;-) We have no indication that he parked the wrong way in front of the house, do we?

btw... f you put all the blue lines together, it kinda makes a pretzel :)
If he stops in front of the house without turning around that is even more reason not to be on cameras. Why do you think he should be on the cameras?

Someone on computer 4 days later had to be Chase Merritt, because no one else even knew they were missing yet.

#McStay - Schroeder testifies on Feb 8, 2:07am (almost 4 days after the family was last heard from) someone was on Joseph McStay's computer.

L&C just showed a snippet of Mitchelly's Testimony. She testified her camera was recording 24/7, but only set to "motion detection" so she could basically save space/record longer that way. At least that is how I understood it. FWIW

The Mexico passport search could have been made by Joey or Summer at the bequest of a friend.

This is interesting because I have always maintained Chase did that search but if there was multiple searches I don’t see how Chase could of had access to the computer without raising suspicion.

I don't think it would be on the camera's. I think that if the Trooper was parked on the street around that 7 - 8ish time and Chase moved his truck, walked back to move the Trooper or whatever that evening, THEN it's POSSIBLE it would be caught because it was dark and the headlights would have illuminated in range of the camera, just like the car that we can see driving down the street before the truck pulled out of the driveway... in the video, I can see the car coming because it started to get lighter.

I also think that if the Trooper was there, it was parked in front of the house because of that same car driving by before the truck comes out of the driveway and because they were driving over towards Mitchley's home (as to not hit the Trooper that is parked).

If it was CM there and it was his truck leaving and he had just killed the family, I just don't think he would have left the Trooper there that night, but I don't know why they didn't see it (or it's lights) being moved either. It's also possible that he drove it away without turning on the lights at all (I am unsure if running lights could have been turned of though), sometimes that makes a vehicle stand out more than one driving away though, so I don't know. Mitchley said she poured over hours of video... I would hope that San Diego SD did as well. Like I said previously, they assumed it was the Trooper that left at 7:47, so isn't it reasonable to assume that they also watched hours of video afterwards to see if they could catch a vehicle coming back? IMO they are incompetent, but this one seems to be a no brainer.

But in today's testimony, it wasn't "someone" or Chase... it was the computer system accessing the file. So it could have been a program scanning the system. If I heard the testimony correctly... Schroeder looked at a complete report during break, not just one snip of it, came back and said that it appeared to be the system and it accessed thousands of other files around the same time, it was not a user hitting that bookmark.

Right, but that evening there was a spider web, which we can see in the upper left corner of the video, it was making it run continuous, thus the reason they had 7-8pm, that is the portion that SD took a copy of. IIRC in her testimony, she couldn't recall if it ran all night that night, but knew she had looked at hours of video.

Why wouldn’t the friends then come forward when it was brought up as part of the investigation?

If he is convicted, that spider web WILL be a piece of the puzzle. Amazing how life works sometimes, IMO.

I have a burning question now... and I don't think we have an answer... When Mike went into their home, and I guess Chase... were the computers on or were they off???

If we continue to associate the trooper tow at the border and walking across, we may be missing an innocent search for a vacation, say, to Cabo, where they had been before. Beautiful area with great surfing, AIR, and safely accessed by different means.
